What can you bring to the Global Occult Coalition: I have played in another GOC group in the past (not this server of course) and have extensive experience with rp, as while I have only been playing this server for 3 months I have roleplayed in a variety of games for years.
Why do you want to join the Global Occult Coalition?: From a personal standpoint I enjoy reading the lore of the GOC, and playing them before was just as enjoyable. I also believe that the GOC on this server will provide a unique experience far from other roles such as MTF or CI.
Why was the Global Occult Coalition founded?: After the seventh occult war, the Allied Occult Initiative (AOI), similar to the 'Allies' in WW2, decided to transform their organization and join the United Nations as the 'Global Occult Coalition'. They gave themselves five essential missions that they felt were neccessary to uphold to protect humanity.
What does the PHYSICS, PSYCHE, and PTOLEMY Divisions specialize in and give an example of some functions they do:
PHYSICS: The PHYSICS divisions specializes in the identification and neutralization of what they call "Threat Entities" (TEs), or parathreats (TE = Anomaly). They have two main arms inside the division, Assessment, which identifies TEs and observes known TEs of low threat, and Strike teams, which neutralize TEs.
PSYCHE: The PSYCHE division specializes in diplomacy, it is the division that engages with the paranormal in a non-violent manner, with the dual purpose of observing for any emerging threat within the paranormal organization they are in contact with, and to maintain diplomatic relations with various non-hostile occult powers.
PTOLEMY: The PTOLEMY division specializes as support. Their primary goal is to assist the other two divisions in a logistical capacity and are the primary division that follows the fifth mission of the GOC, Education. They are who supplies the strike teams in PHYSICS and coordinates research into the paranormal to help improve the GOC's ability to follow their fivefold mission.
What Are the Global Occult Coalition's goals?:
Their goals are fivefold, with these missions overriding each other from top being the highest priority to the bottom.
1) Survival: Above all else, the GOC has the primary goal that Humanity must survive against the threats of the paranormal.
2)Concealment: The knowledge of the paranormal has caused substantial damage to humanity in the past, and the GOC recognizes that if the paranormal were to become common knowledge, the 1st mission will be at stake due to the damage that knowledge could cause. As such, the GOC strives to keep the paranormal in the realm of imagination of the general public.
3)Protection: The best way to contrast this is with the Foundation's D-Class. The GOC believes that individual humans should not be expended unless in pursuit of the second or first goal. It is important to note that this leads them to be against how the Foundation expends humans to learn about the paranormal, something which the GOC sees as less of a priority.
4)Destruction: In contrast to the high priority of human life for the GOC, the paranormal are not to have resources expended to ensure their survival, The GOC on the contrary believes that what they designate as 'TEs' are all a threat to human survival.
5)Education: "Know thy enemy." The GOC knows that knowledge of the paranormal will allow them to better deal with TEs, and as such they also research the occult to better understand know they operate, and perhaps more importantly, how to neutralize it.
Please explain The Seventh Occult War:
The Seventh Occult War occurred in tandem with World War II, with the primary forces being the Allied Occult Initiative against the Obskuracorps (Think Nazi Cult). Each side wished to sway the balance in WWII to ensure that their nation(s) won, which a wide variety of the occult and paranormal employed into battle. This occult war culminated in the Obskuracorps attempting to change the nature of the occult itself with a special ritual, which the Allied Occult Initiative (and the Foundation, which existed back then), were able to disrupt. After this war, similar to how the Allies formed the United Nations, the Allied Occult Initiative formed the Global Occult Initiative.
What makes the Global Occult Coalition different in in-comparison to the other groups within the SCP-universe in your view?:
It is a common misconception that the primary player in the paranormal (in the SCP-universe) is the SCP Foundation. This is wrong. The SCP Foundation is not the main authority on the paranormal, but the Global Occult Coalition is. The GOC is far more 'public' (at least in the paranormal community) and is seen as the principal authority on the paranormal, and unfortunately for most paranormal beings, to say the GOC is intolerant of them would be an understatement. The GOC compared to other organizations mostly wish to keep the paranormal away from the normal, and are likely the biggest reason the paranormal hide their existence from the general public.

Enlisting in the US Army when 20, Sylvester was deployed to Afghanistan after completion of the US Army Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course for recon. He was known in his squad for being detail oriented and observant, something which was a great boon for him and his squad given their assignments. However, after around a year have passed a certain mission occurred that changed Sylvester forever.
It was a routine mission for Sylvester and his squad, their task was simple, provide overwatch for a separate squad that was clearing a cluster of residences in a remote area. Unbeknownst to the US army at the time however, there was an anomalous object stolen from an abandoned ORIA(Office For The Reclamation of Islamic Artifacts) warehouse held by a hostile in one of the buildings. The consequences were dire. Before Sylvester could even realize what was happening to the squad inside that building, one of the hostiles holding the object, which turned out to be a sword with glowing runes engraved on it, was running towards Sylvester and his squad at an abnormal speed.
It is unknown what exactly transpired afterwards due to the chaos shown by a body camera worn by some members of the squad, but what is known is that when a GOC assessment team was sent to the area following radio chatter intercepted from US army channels in the area, all they saw was the remains of Sylvester's squad and Sylvester himself heavily wounded, with the hostile that was carrying the sword dead slouched over him, the sword no longer having the glow it once had.
The team secured the TE and arranged for the US army to extract Sylvester, with Sylvester resigning from the US army after making a full recovery. Sylvester was later approached by a recruiter to join the Global Occult Coalition, and after learning what the GOC did to save his life, he accepted the offer.
