Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
I have been around both UK and USA servers on and off for over 2 years now and have enjoyed all my time in doing so, but recently decided to take a greater focus on the Research aspect of the game rather than flipping between everything. Since then I've found a great amount of enjoyment in what I've been doing and I feel as though through my documents I've made a great impression on the Higher-ups on the research team. Also after looking through a bunch of other's documents and experiment logs that have been made by others in the community it's only made it all the more interesting finding out what other's have done in a RP approach to different SCP's.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I feel as though I'm suitable for Executive Researcher due to my playtime on the server and how familiar I've gotten with different people and also the RP aspect of the server. I personally have had a blast exploring the RP freedom that researching provides and being able to express that through both researching and the documents I write up really does make my night when writing them. Furthermore I'm confident in my ability to produce well written documents, tests and a meaningful RP experience for myself and others.
Also I'd like to mention, if I am brought on for this role I will certainly looking forward to the Testing freedom as I can fully explore all the different possibilities within the server, whether it be a bit more freedom with cross-testing or even just different scenarios placing D-class in with various SCP's to see the results of them. <3
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
During my focused Research attempts, I have wrote 3 documents which all extend from 25-40 pages long and each one has received an Excellent grading almost straight away, when reviewed by multiple different Executives and higher-up's. I've found they greatly appreciate my work and can see the effort I put in.
I believe what make a document excellent is both the Quality and clear display of effort and thought put into them but also the realism and RP aspect of them. I personally have read documents that can be amazing ideas and a truly interesting concept for the quality of work to be hard to read and doesn't fit a RP aspect and vice versa. I personally aim to add images, diagrams and similar in order to create a sense of real involvement that anyone can get behind. Something that really does inform people on everything I have gathered without being a jumbly mess.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
From everything I've seen and gathered over my time in the research department, the Executive Researcher's jobs are tailored towards Secret/CL4 SCP experimentation being the highest level of experimentation that research personnel can perform. But not only is the CL4 testing a huge aspect of what they do, but they also have authority over research personnel below them. This can include approving the credits handed out by Juniors, authorising experiments such as Cross-tests with SCP-8837 and SCP-096.
But even then, Executives are in charge of monitoring the standard and quality of work that the foundation is producing in terms of grading and signage of experiments. I feel as though that's one of the most important aspects as it not only improves the entire RP aspect but it really does improve the experience for other members of the community and those wanting to involve themselves in research. And as I frequently study the SCIPNET when looking for documentation on an SCP I want to study, it's relieving to be given real organised documents compared to anything being thrown in, causing disruption and a breaking of the RP experience.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Bob "Biker" is an Executive Researcher based on Site-65 and renowned for his sarcastic but also relentless curiosity with every inanimate anomaly that makes it's way into the foundation. Whether it be something as simple as SCP-714 or as complex as SCP-1162 spewing out every possible weapon, food or memorabilia. Bob is almost guaranteed to be on it at all times. His work centres primarily around inanimate anomaly's based in the LCZ, where he has built quite the reputation for mixing and matching every possible combination in order to make his newest breakthrough.
His work spans dozens of pages, covering every conceivable aspect of an SCP, from its potential utility to the threat it could pose to the Foundation or the wider world. He approaches each anomaly as a system to be understood, mapped, and stress-tested. Not just contained. His greatest feat in this area is his discovery of the vast number of anomalous activity that "The Yarn Doll" provides. What appeared at first to be a yarn doll revealed itself, under Biker’s layered testing to trigger an unpredictable array of psychological effects, ranging from euphoric highs to extreme emotional collapse. His experimentation not only catalogued this behaviour, but introduced entirely new classification criteria for mood-based anomalous influence. Biker's documentation of the doll, its responses across three distinct subjects, and the implications of its emotional imprint laid the groundwork for a new Foundation initiative focused on non-sentient, mood-altering objects.
One of the storylines that interested me and I had a few ideas on was something in relation to newer SCP's and discovering their limits and capabilities. For example;
Following his initial success in uncovering the unpredictable psychological effects of the Yarn Doll (SCP-XXXX) and through extended testing on hand-picked D-Class, researchers, and medium-risk personnel, Biker begins mapping out emotional response patterns, experimenting with different environmental triggers, exposure durations, and even vocal or visual stimuli during interaction. Even going as far as cross-testing 714 and the SCP to see if they cancel one another.
