What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:

- The ethics committee is responsible for reviewing and approving research involving human subjects to ensure that it is ethical and that the rights and welfare of the participants are protected. Membership on an ethics committee can be a rewarding and challenging opportunity for individuals who are interested in contributing to the ethical conduct of research and the protection of human subjects. I would love to serve on this board to ensure that the code of ethics is upheld and enforced among all members of the facility.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:

- There are a number of qualities that make me a suitable candidate for membership on the ethics committee. Some of these include:

Expertise in a relevant area: Ethics committees often include members with expertise in relevant areas such as research ethics, law, medicine, or the social sciences. It is important for members to have a strong understanding of the ethical principles that underlie research involving human subjects and the regulations that govern such research. As for myself, I have an extensive medical background as well as experience serving as an ethics assistant at our current facility.

Ability to think critically: Members of an ethics committee need to be able to think critically and carefully about the ethical implications of research proposals. They should be able to analyze the potential risks and benefits of a study and consider how to minimize any potential risks to participants.

Strong communication skills: Ethics committee members need to be able to communicate effectively with researchers, other committee members, and other site personnel. They should also be able to clearly articulate their thoughts and concerns and be willing to listen to and consider the perspectives of others.

Objectivity: Ethics committee members should be objective and unbiased in their review of research proposals. They should be willing to consider all sides of an issue and make decisions based on the evidence and ethical principles rather than personal biases or interests.

Commitment to ethical conduct: Members of an ethics committee should be committed to ethical conduct in research and the protection of human subjects. They should be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities as members of the committee.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:

- In the context of Role-Playing (RP), an Ethics Committee member will be responsible for reviewing and approving game scenarios that involve sensitive or controversial topics. The specific responsibilities of the Ethics Committee will depend on the specific rules and policies of the committee and the needs of the players. Some responsibilities of the committee include:

Reviewing game scenarios: The Ethics Committee is responsible for reviewing game scenarios and activities that involve sensitive or controversial topics to ensure that they are appropriate and ethical. This involves considering the potential risks and benefits of the scenario, as well as any potential legal or ethical issues that might arise.

Making recommendations: Based on their review of the scenario or activity, the Ethics Committee will make recommendations to the other members or other relevant parties about whether the scenario or activity should be approved or modified in some way.

Providing guidance: The Ethics Committee provides guidance to researchers or other relevant parties on how to handle sensitive or controversial topics in a way that is ethical and respectful to all players.

Resolving conflicts: If conflicts or disputes arise, the Ethics Committee is responsible for mediating the dispute and helping to find a resolution that is fair and respectful to all parties involved.

Establishing and enforcing rules and policies: The Ethics Committee is responsible for establishing rules and policies related to the ethical conduct of RP and enforcing these rules to ensure that all players are treated fairly and with respect.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g., what applications do they handle?):

- The ethics committee reviews applications for ethics assistant and makes amendments to the code of ethics.

Some of the specific responsibilities of the Ethics Committee include the following:

Monitoring player behavior and enforcing rules to ensure that players are role-playing in accordance with the established guidelines
Investigating and resolving reports of rule-breaking or inappropriate behavior
Providing guidance and support to players who are new to the role-playing community or who are having difficulty following the rules
Participating in the development and revision of the server's rules and guidelines to ensure that they are fair, consistent, and in line with the community's values and goals.
In summary, the Ethics Committee plays a key role in maintaining the quality and enjoyment of the role-playing experience for all players in the community.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

- Dan McCarthy had always been fascinated by the strange and unexplained. As a young man, he had spent countless hours reading about paranormal phenomena, alien encounters, and other mysterious occurrences. So when he heard about the SCP Foundation, a secret organization dedicated to containing and studying anomalous objects, creatures, and phenomena, he knew he had to be a part of it. Dan spent years working his way up through the ranks of the Foundation, starting as a doctor and eventually becoming a medical consultant. He was known for his intelligence, resourcefulness, and dedication to the cause. He had faced some of the most dangerous and bizarre anomalies the Foundation had ever encountered, and he always managed to come out on top. One day, Dan was approached by the Ethics Committee, a group of high-ranking members of the Foundation who were responsible for making important decisions about how to handle anomalous objects and creatures. They told him that they had noticed his exceptional work and wanted him to join their ranks as an Ethics Member. Dan was honored and humbled by the offer. He knew that being an Ethics Member would be a huge responsibility, but he was ready for the challenge. He accepted the position and began his new duties with enthusiasm and determination. As an Ethics Member, Dan had access to some of the most classified information within the Foundation. He worked closely with other members of the Ethics Committee to make difficult decisions about how to handle anomalous objects and creatures, always weighing the risks against the benefits. Dan's work as an Ethics Member earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He became one of the most respected and influential members of the Foundation, and his contributions to the organization were invaluable. Thanks to Dan's dedication and expertise, the SCP Foundation was able to successfully contain and study some of the most dangerous anomalies the world had ever known, and the world was a safer place because of it.

Thank you for taking the time to apply for Ethics Commitee Member. We have reviewed your application and decided not to proceed with your application at this time. The reason we have chosen not to proceed with your application at this time is due to the fact that you are still new in the Ethics Commitee Assistant Role and would like to see more from you.

Please feel free to reapply in two weeks.

In the name of the Ethics Committee

Dr John Canoon M.D
Chairman of the Ethics Committee
