Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
> I have received 4:

-> Sunday January 7th 2024 - Inappropriate Misconduct (I can't provide an explanation for this one, I have forgotten, sorry.)
-> Sunday February 11th 2024 - FailRP (If I remember correctly this was due to me messing around right before server restart, as I thought it would be okay. Which is also another dumb reason for me to get a warning. That I could've easily avoided.)
-> Friday July 26th 2024 - ERP (This was a really dumb one I could've easily not gotten. And looking back on it, I see that I shouldn't have said anything.)
-> Apr 18, 2025 - FailRP (I have applied to get this removed in the past, which it will not be, and I think that it should; still though I do see why it isn’t. I helped to “breach” 008, in reality it was an unauthorised test that I was forced to do under FearRP situations.)

What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:

I am applying for the position of an Ethics Committee Member.
This role as an ECM will provide me the responsibility and power to encourage/support, around the site, server health and overall the roleplay aspect that UK has, so that we can have both coins of Combat & Roleplay; allowing more of a diverse section of players to thrive, due to the fact we're limited by focusing on one aspect, and not both. This is to enhance both the server and the community.
I'll also like to state that Ethics is a place, that due to their nature of being public and needed for their availability, it is the easiest course of action to go into this role and work for what I want to see happening in this community that grows daily. I don't want people to see it as just a combat server on the US side, when the UK side has mostly RP, why can't we have both on US? Good RP, and good Combat; if we tap into that playerbase, it'll deepen the moments we get to experience.
What I've seen around the site is that roleplay is lacking, and Site Command is meant to be the main driving aspect of this "Roleplay" that we currently have; that I don't see a lot of from many people. Now I won't lie, there are a few people who do roleplay on SCP USA, however these people are usually crushed under the overwhelming combative side of things. These people don't get many chances to shine when it comes to having major RP moments, or even RP moments at all, which leads me to the point of why I am going to be a good candidate for the Ethics Committee.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:

I am an active Director of Research, which allows me to see a lot of the roleplay side of things (or at least what is meant to be there). Case in point, this allows me to understand the workings of RP and how to make good RP (or at least I'd like to think my RP is good, haha). Since Ethics Members are there to be these public entities, and I've had this wonderful experience of being a Director within this community, people already know me and know how I am/act. Being a Director in of itself is meant to be a frontrunner for their own department, meaning publicity and being available is a must, causing me to have that experience of being a public person that is easy to contact, and easy to talk to.
I have experience as a Sr. Cl4 personnel member, which lets me be both a reasonable person but also a harsh one. Usually the way I handle situations is by considering all sides of the story; which some may see as a waste of time, but that to me just screams that you do not fully care and wish to get this done with as little time as possible.
Both as an Executive and Director of Research, there have been a multitude of ways I've had to collaborate with Ethics to work on projects, allowing me to pick up CoE knowledge and how to apply it within actual situations. During my time as Director of Research, I have had to enact the CoE using my authority as this position such as the time a few Researchers violated ethical testing procedures on SCP-173, and the way I handled this was by shutting down the test, stating what they were doing was wrong and why it was wrong, then asking ISD to come over and also talk to them about what punishments are entailed with breaking the CoE. I've also had to straight up say to a few researchers that their test ideas are completely against CoE, and that it'd be best to figure out a way to turn it into an actual ethical test, and we figured out a proper test that Ethics would be happy to sign off on.
If chosen to become ECM situations like these will be easy to handle, given prior experience, and I personally promise that these situations shall be handled by myself swiftly and justly to provide a bigger presence of the Ethics Committee on Site-65 when it comes to violations of the Code of Ethics. Additionally, I will further increase the presence of the Ethics Committee by placing myself within positions that create interaction opportunities for other departments and people on the server during roleplay situations to avoid the stigma of Site Command being used as just signatures for projects/proposals. With these in mind, I plan on making the Ethics Committee an entity that is seen more on site and a further respected position of authority.
I believe my commitment and previous roles give you strong reasoning as to why I should receive the promotion to Ethics Committee Member.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:

The responsibilities of an Ethics Member are including, but not limited to:

> "A reasonable level of control over the roleplay atmosphere on the server."
> "Our Ethics Committee manages our Code of Ethics, another in-character ruleset that dictates policy for ethical treatment of personnel and use of anomalies."
> "Ability to sway roleplay all across the site in a various number of ways"
> "Collectively manage, assign, and oversee various department leaders, and can accept applications for those positions"
> "Make sure that everything being brought forward by the Overseers is acceptable within an Ethical Standpoint"
> "Largely involved when it comes to tribunals and or punishment when it comes to violations of the Code of Ethics. This extends to all Foundation Employees, D-Class or not."
> "Oversee sitewide behaviour"
>"Making sure that Ethical standards and professionalism are being met"
> "Working closely with ISD to ensure that all personnel behave as they should. Making sure that the way things are being done is professional and ethical, indirectly tackling misbehaviour."
> "Organizing the smaller bureaucracy of ISD and the assistant team."
> "Indifferent to the outcome unless in serious situations. Concerned with how people conduct themselves - process-driven."
> "Liaise with O1 and ISD to launch full-scale investigations into players/departments regarding behaviour."

These are all quoted directly from the handbook, including some quoted from parts where people normally wouldn't read, e.g parts that aren't in the table of guidelines/from the forum post speaking about what Foundation Command does.
However I'd also like to add some of my own points:

> Activity - Ethics members are meant to be available to push RP, and assist in issues such as signatures needing to happen, or GOI welfare between Foundation and them.
> Professionalism - Ethics members are one of the highest members on site, meaning they must be a role model for all.
> Assisting departments, especially Research, with certain tasks that require ethical procedures to be overlooked.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):

> Accepting/Denying Ethics assistants.
> Accepting/Denying Director of ISD Applications.
> Discussing ECM applications with the ECC, to assist in his final decision
> Managing demotion appeals if they get that far up the chain of command.
> Feedback within internal ranks, including SA, to come up with decisions.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

+ Support

Desmond has done amazing work in the RSD department since the previous DoR in place before him. Executive command team now has responsibilities to follow and weekly merit quotas to ensure constant activity and participation from their Jr CL4s is guaranteed for the CL3 and below personnel in RSD. Not only did he give RSD Command structure, but he revised and assisted in CRB's functionality and infrastructure change to have it implemented into the server in a way that does not harm the rest of the departments on sight while providing a higher internal incentive for those wishing to solely play RSD. Plus he already has experience dealing with Ethics directly and matters concerning Ethics, such as getting on other researchers' necks when it comes to CoE violations during testing or conducting unethical treatment to D-Class personnel and other SCPs. Definitely the best candidate in my opinion.
Good luck Desmond!

+Support, but in red.

Desmond is a great Director of Research. I have personally worked with him to make really good changes within the department, including alleviating some of the stress when he was the only director available on site. While it would suck seeing him go, he is a good candidate for the position.
