What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for ECM for four main reasons. My first is the FLC. At the time of writing, the FLC is undergoing multiple revision drafts to make it easier to use and comprehend. As an ECM, I would love to help push that reform through after helping getting it rolling as ISD Director. This can be done through direct drafts and advocacy, there are many things I have been pushing as DOISD that I will keep pushing as an ECM, including but not limited to verbal warnings and crime classifications. In that same mindset, my second reason for applying for ECM is to help facilitate communication between Site Administration and ISD's prosecution team, which I have extensive experience in, to help facilitate much-needed tribunal reform, whether that be a minor restructuring or an overhaul of certain areas.
My third reason for applying for ECM is to get a change of pace from the DOISD position. Being the Director of Internal Security is good experience, however, I would love to move on to other areas of roleplay while not leaving ISD's oversight, and becoming an ECM would fit what I'm looking for best. Which brings me to my last main reason, which is roleplay generation for O-1 and ISD. As the DOISD, I helped facilitate the opening of new RP between O-1 and ISD in the form of joint operations, bridging the gap between two very critical investigative bodies. I have no doubt that in the near and far future, it will be used for great things, and as an ECM, I would love to help facilitate that. The work I do with O-1 and ISD will also add to the character development I wish to see.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I think the first reason is my understanding of the Ethics Committee, I understand the role it plays in the foundation as the deciders of what's acceptable and necessary, and what's not. As the DOISD, I have worked closely with the Ethics Committee to generate RP and manage ISD. Through that experience, I learned a great deal about Ethics and how they conduct themselves.
I also have a huge dedication to RP consistency, which I think is sorely needed on the server more. Things like separating your character from yourself, making decisions that match your character's personality and values, etc. As the DOISD I have learned a great deal about RP in general, and one of those things I have learned is how critical it is to conduct yourself in a consistent manner. The Ethics Committee is a large generator of what I call "structured RP", as an example of what that is, look at Trials, Hearings, Investigations, Tribunals, etc. And as the DOISD I not only participated in this structured RP, but I also created it myself on many occasions, giving me extensive experience and knowledge on how to generate it and make enjoyable RP scenarios with other people on the server. I think structured RP is very underused and underestimated, tribunals can be a ton of fun if done right, and as an ECM I would have tribunals be one of my main focuses.
My leadership is consistent and unbiased. I have led ISD through many situations, and through patience and keeping a level head, ISD has performed its duties and fulfilled its obligation to the site, even if that means I take heat doing so. Through my tenure as DOISD, I gained three critical skills. I have become more diplomatic, impartial, and detail-oriented, all three of these skills are critical to the day to day decision making as an ECM, and I have hands-on experience with situations that have required all three skills.
As the DOISD, I have maintained my activity and been hands-on with everything that happens in ISD. Nothing would change if I were an ECM. As an ECM, my availability will be extremely high, and I will ensure it's easy to contact me for questions and concerns that people may have about Civilnetworks as a whole or Site-65, I will always ensure RP leads feel free to contact me with any questions they might have about running there respective department, and I will always give my best and most educated response.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
- Work with and generate RP for ISD & O-1
- Work with and generate RP for Ethics Assistants
- Cooperation with Site Administration to ensure the COE is upheld
- Uphold and enforce the Code of Ethics
- Work closely with ISD to ensure behavior is at the baseline standard and within ethical boundaries as written
- Manage the D-Class permit system and ensure the treatment of D-Class is within ethical boundaries.
- Organize tribunals when necessary
- AA Auth
- Code Black if needed
- Nuke the site if needed. This is also partly a server health role from FCOM
- Ensure the SCP Foundation never crosses the boundary of unnecessary action that does not reach a goal of the greater good. To assist in that task, the Ethics Committee decides what is acceptable and what is not.
- Appointment of the DOISD
- Intervene in cases of severe negligence in ISD
- Last resort demotion appeals for cases of extreme prejudice, negligence, etc
- Provide feedback to the Chairman for ECA & ECM applications
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Arledge: You’ve been flagging Krennic’s file for weeks now. What’s your angle?
Dr. M█████: Not an angle. A pattern. He’s different.
Arledge: Everyone’s different after amnestic stabilization. You know the drill, gaps and adjustment curves.
Dr. M█████: Adjustment curves don’t flatten. His did. Perfectly. No variance. He talks about the Ethics Committee like it’s… scripture. Not the members. Not the Chairman, not the assistants. Just the idea.
Arledge: That could just be overcompensation. Some liaisons get idealistic after a brush with infohazards.
Dr. M█████: Overcompensation doesn’t rewrite linguistic anchors. He keeps using phrases I’ve never seen in EC training manuals: “sealed law,” “incorruptible code.” It’s the same cadence every time, like he’s reciting something he doesn’t remember learning.
Arledge: …You think someone put those in there?
Dr. M█████: I ran baselines. Whole chunks of his episodic memory are missing. Too precise for natural loss. And his decision tree during moral stress testing? No deviation. Every outcome bends toward Committee preservation.
Arledge: Speak English, doctor.
Dr. M█████: His brain is being biologically engineered.
[Pause – 00:11:07]
Dr. M█████: I’m already in the process of filing a sealed anomaly report. This doesn’t leave RAISA until it goes upstairs.
Arledge: Careful with “upstairs.” Ethics might already know.
Dr. M█████: Maybe. But if they don’t, then we’re sitting on a precedent that rewrites what loyalty means in this place.
Arledge: …And if they do?
Dr. M█████: Then Omega-1 will be knocking on doors by morning.

That log is a hint to some lore about Krennic I'm cooking up. My character is also responsible for many operations in the Internal Security Department, and is also responsible for a huge increase in Ethics & O-1 cooperation, which can be explained by that log, and also another file I'm soon to finish.
