Why are you applying for Deputy Director of Research?
- Specifically, I have a very fond opinion about the research wing. I'm very driven to see it rise as it deserves, and it pains me how under utilized it is on the server. I feel that Medical and Research specifically have been under developed as a whole, and I'm seeing all of these great leads pushing and pulling together to flip this script. Honestly, I find it inspiring, I find myself wanting to pull my own weight. I see the Directors just burning themselves out trying to keep up with the ambitions they carry, and I feel I'm ready too push just as hard to see their vision come to light.
What makes you suitable for Deputy Director of Research?:
- I have been on the foundation for 2 months as an executive, I have a plephora of experience that'd I'd like to use to assist the current DoR to the best of my capabilities. I believe I have good relations with alot of the research on site, and it is my goal to help spear head the development of the branch in it's entirety. I'm rather active, being on site 4 days a week, sometimes up to 7, and that gives me the opportunity to perform the tasks given to me with utmost effort.
What are the responsibilities of the Deputy Director of Research in RP?:
- The responsibilities primarily lie in assisting the Director of Research in any endeavor they are pursuing. Specifically, you are dutied to take their place when they are off site, as well as to learn from them as much as possible. Overlooking the research division, developing policies, refining systems, working under ethics and the council, all in order to promote growth and reliability in the research department. But primarily, your job is to help raise the future batch of grand researchers in a healthy RP centric sub-community.
Please give some lore about your Deputy Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Christopher Kings spent most of his childhood obsessed with how things "Tick." He wondered why other kids would get angry, or laugh; what made people ambitious or slothful. He saw how psychiatrist would treat these symptoms, rather then delve deep into the machinery of the mind. Upon graduating from high school, he immediately set his ambition ablaze, and sought a masters degree in physics, and psychology. He wanted to have all the knowledge he needed logged in his mind as a tool box to pick apart the consciousness. His ideas seemed eccentric, speculatory, almost too impossible to believe but he pushed through the doubt of his peers isolating himself in his research. Have 2 years of study, he had determined a shocking discovery. That deep down in all humans, there is a link between every human mind. Not metaphorically, but in a very literal sense, something deeper then instinct, something metaphysical. Something that linked all consciousness into a collective, something he called the "Psychospace."
After further ridicule from his peers on this preposterous idea, he decided to present to upload his findings anyway to the research facilities data base. After approximately 2 hours, all documentation uploaded was removed from the database by unknown means at which point he was ordered to report to his superiors office. What awaited him there, was researchers with strange crests upon their coats of a circle with arrows pointing in. They presented an offer of transfer to a different facility, one that was open to his speculations and research. Of course, he accepted, who wouldn't after 2 years of constantly having your ideas pushed aside and seen as insane? He was then asked to make his way to [REDACTED] where he was picked up by an unmarked vehicle and accepted being put unconscious during the trip to the facility. He now pushes headstrong into the research of the Psychospace, and using the knowledge gained to turn anomolous objects, into understood physics. After an anomolous interaction on site, with one, SCP-7006, Kings was forced into a deal that resulted in him becoming hyper perceptive of realities, a new sense being opening. As the cost for this interaction, he has been left 30 years to live on the dot, everyday counting down towards that mark. Unfortunately, as a result, this has caused him to develop insomnia, due to the incapability of blocking out the sense and being flooded with information he has lacked the ability to experience prior. He wishes to use this ability, to refine the understanding of the extra-dimensional to a point.
