Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
- I have received several warns, a kick and a ban. I will list them in order and why I received them, though I do not intend on receiving further infractions while playing the server currently:
- Warns:
- 12/4/22 - RDM [A]: In RP D-Class on D-Class violence which led to me killing another D-Class. This was when I first started.
- 12/9/22 - FailRP [A]: I honestly can not remember what led to this one.
- 12/18/22 - RDM : Same as reason RDM [A] reason.
- 5/23/24 - RDM: Wrongful killing of D-Class as GSD, though admitted to mistake as I killed wrong Class-D in trying to kill one with contraband from watch tower.
- 5/29/24 - ERP: As this was some time ago, I do not remember what was said. However, I do remember I only received a warning and not a ban because the statement was not intended as erotic but could be considered as erotic, and was performed while I was Class-D.
- 4/5/25 - Inappropriate Conduct: I had written an inappropriate note during a researcher led class as a Class-D participant. Content was song lyrics that were vulgar.
- Kicks:
- 6/30/23 - AFK: I was AFK on the server, so I was kicked at the time to allow others to join in my absence.
- Bans:
- 4/5/25 - Inappropriate Conduct (24 hours): I had written an inappropriate note during a researcher led class as a Class-D participant. Content was song lyrics that were vulgar.
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?:
- I am applying for Executive Researcher primarily due to my love for the Research Department and testing. I tend to avoid sampling a lot of times and rather come up with out of the box test ideas that I can share amongst other peers to help them set up some fun tests that they can experience with other test subjects. Which would be my secondary reason for applying for Executive Researcher, I enjoy helping other people with department rules and regulations as well as pointing them in the right direction when seeking out ideas or the appropriate approval for testing. My third reason would be to assist other departments that may be experiencing problems or have questions for Research leadership to deal with.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
- I have an extensive background of leadership positions in Garry's Mod roleplay servers. That experience also extends outside of Civil Networks, but to avoid advertising issues and irrelevant comparisons, I will only be naming off my accomplishments within Civil Networks, which still extends out to a year of two of experience in total. First was my previous experience as an Executive Researcher, I spent most of my time grading documents, supervising research personnel and reviewing requested samplings or special-grade testing documents awaiting approval. I also answered most calls when researchers were breaking any Code of Ethics or Code of Conduct currently in place. I would talk with them firstly, explain the rule broken and what they could have done instead to avoid a breach in conduct, give them the documents outlining what I explained, and only resorted to job bans for continued or serious infractions. As GSD Captain it was similar to my responsibilities and accomplishments as Executive Researcher. However, it was more active and hands on as all handling of issues were performed inside of D-Block and the added responsibilities of hosting tryouts for the Riot and Heavy Weapons licenses. Any time a GSD was reported to be neglectful of their duties, violating D-Class rights or interacting with SCPs inappropriately I would handle it. If cadets struggled with the equipment test I would them, if other guards or officers had trouble with the test for Riot or Heavy Weapon Licenses then I would go over the appropriate documents with them. As a LT of E-11 it was different from both Captain and Executive Researcher. Most of my responsibility remained internal in the MTF regiment, supervising E-11 personnel at HCZ checkpoint, distributing personnel throughout HCZ to effectively maintain HCZ security, respond to other department complaints with E-11 decisions, train E-11 personnel on regiment and foundation policy through practical training with substance, and create/manage E-11 policies.
- In short, I am an individual who has drive, commitment and the initiative to further the role of leadership positions given to me. My biggest strengths are handling stressful situations with a calm demeanor, possessing a critical understanding of departmental regulations, and patience with disciplinary or time-sensitive situations. I have extensive knowledge of the server rules and seek to better relations with other departments with the one I was chosen to lead.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?:
- In the past, I wrote several excellent-graded documents before and after I received the position of Executive Researcher. Presently, I have not written any excellent-graded documents but have produced many professionally worded and organized documents. As far as excellent-graded documents go, I am currently working on two involving SCP-008 and SCP-096 special-grade/cross-testing experiment logs that I am sure will be graded as excellent and perhaps set a new standard with what is included in documentation that is required.
- What makes a document excellent is primarily the quality of writing included in the document. Is the document repetitive? Are you using the same vocabulary every other sentence? Is the document specific enough and easy to follow along for personnel reviewing the document? It's important to outline your intentions clearly, and instead of providing a goal of study, provide a purpose of the study and how the Foundation could benefit from your research. Can the experiment lead to future tests or bring about fun and engaging new policies or entities to the site? Can a game master really enhance the substance of your experiment and bring about a roleplay experience for others present on-site during your test? Your content is important to the document so that all procedures are outlined clearly to avoid questioning from outside departments such as: Ethics or Site Administration. There are many qualities of a document that is important to qualify it as "excellent" but the most important part at the end of the day is organizing it all in a chronological manner.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
- The Executive Researcher is an administrative position with the Research Department. They are responsible in supervising other researchers, the tests performed by said researchers, reviewing and managing tests proposals, reviewing and managing sampling requests, grading submitted documents, approving Jr Researcher credits, assisting Jr Researchers with the equipment tests, enforcing department policies, and ensuring all researcher personnel are familiar with any and all changes to researcher policies and maintaining a positive image of the Department. They are meant to be a resource and tool for other researchers to use on-site to further their roles in the department and perform their tests in an effective and engaging manner. Secondly they are personnel that assist the Directors in maintaining the department in their absence, and present detailed and grand ideas that could inspire other researchers to do more with their own tests.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
- Researcher Fredo 'Garcia' was always someone who enjoyed risks, sometimes to a fault. He one day was approached when filing some newly written CL3 experiment logs by an Executive Researcher and a Director of Research with a proposal. "I have noticed your profound interest in biohazardous materials produced naturally or by anomalies Mr. Garcia." The executive Researcher spoke with a calm and tranquil tone, "This has lead to a possible opportunity you may not want to pass up at this time." Garcia doubted their words, believing he had seen it all, besides he had started to become quite interested in SCP-096 and the qualities it possesses when it is in it's trigger state. "I'll pass, I think I'm moving onto bigger and better things with my newer areas of studies. Epsilon-11 also give me a lot of hurdles to jump to when I'm trying to get my work done with biohazardous material too, it's annoying really." The Director of Research spoke up this time, his tone was different from the Executive's it was more refined and direct. "Access to a Clearance Level 4 SCP and understanding it's true properties." Garcia's ears perked up, they couldn't have been talking about that SCP right? He had only heard rumors of it and spent years trying to get it declassified to perform several special-grade experiments he had in mind if the rumors were true. "You don't mean-" Garcia began before being interrupted by the Director. "That's right SCP-008, I have seen your prior requests for briefing on this SCP Object here at Site-65 and after reviewing your findings of your Cross-Test with SCPs 049 and 035 where a new instance of SCP-049-2 was created, I have become quite curious of your capabilities." Garcia remained silent during the explanation, finally years of hard work was beginning to push him forward just as he had lost hope of doing so. The Executive nodded at the Director noticing Garcia's facial expression had went from a disregardful manner to one of interest. The Director turned to the Executive, "Get him up to speed in the next few hours on SCP-008 and work together with him on his last proposed test. I don't believe that damn Plague Doctor produces entities incapable of being infected with SCP-008, but he is the only one on this site crazy enough to try and doesn't care about what those up stairs say about his tests." The Executive nodded, taking a seat at Garcia's desk while the Director opened the door to make his exit. "Oh and before I forget." The Director tossed an envelope at Garcia, which Garcia caught, dropping the files he had in his hand. Opening it, Garcia pulled out a new Site-ID and Clearance Level 4 card with his name on it. "This opportunity came with a promotion and it's not coming from just me, you've been turning heads up stairs too." The Director left the room, and the Executive began speaking about the properties of SCP-008. Garcia, still shocked at the fast turn of events, could only think of one thing while the words of the Executive were drowned out in the background. "Jackpot."
