Time zone: CST
Character name(s): Henry Du Bois
Civilian name: none
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): USA
Do you have a mic?: Yes
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
E-11 LCPL
DEA Senior Agent/Field Agent
RSD Specialist Researcher
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: none
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
On the server, I am personally by far the most interested and dedicated to moving up within Research, and want to become executive researcher so I can become a leader within the department and impart my passion and dedication to those under me. RSD is one of the most public and important branches on the server, being accessible to anyone on the server and I want to help mentor the generation of researchers after me like those before have and still are mentoring me.
On top of that of course I want to become an executive researcher to get access and ability to partake and run more classified, important, and interesting research. While I am already working to do that as a specialist, by being executive it allows me to achieve CL4 and more easily work with those above me in testing.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I believe my aforementioned interest and dedication are are important parts of what make me suitable. While I am not currently one of the most experienced specialist researchers, I am eager to improve and work with the RSD executive+ team. I am incredibly active and present within RSD, attempting to help those under me and be a help to those above me. I am eager to volunteer my time to help others with projects or any other work, or even just accompany new researchers on projects to give them first-hand experience.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
6 Excellent Documents. I believe that what makes a good document is ensuring what is typed is clear, concise and free of mistakes, as well as the actual content of the test itself. Both mundane and complex tests are capable of excellent if you ensure the document is well written and fully encompasses what you seek to accomplish, what you did and why, and what the ramifications or results of the test are.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?: Within RP, they are to be educators of the foundation, being a source of knowledge and curiosity for all within the staff, while also being a safeguard of restricted and censored knowledge for those under them. When anomalies, SCPs, or other mysteries appear in the foundation, it is the executive researchers who are leading the researchers in these new areas. There is also the upkeep, monitoring, and expansion of currently known and established ideas within the foundation, from the lowest CL1 anomalies up to the most protected and restricted CL4 SCPs. Whether personally partaking or planning, or encouraging those under them to create and take part in new projects to explore new ideas, they are expected to push the limits of current knowledge.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Henry Du Bois is a fresher scientist on Site 65. Having a background in Anthropology and Archaeology, his work brought him into contact with many different people with somehow similar stories or unexplainable phenomenons. Focusing this research brought him into the interest of Site 65 as a researcher exploring the phenomenons that he came to discover were SCPs. As Henry continued to work in the facility, the legends he delved into led him to having sympathies with some of the SCPs on site and has led him toward working to maintain ethical standards for their treatment, towing the line between their treatment and the safety of the entire site.
While I have no active storylines with my character, as I put in my background, I have been focusing on the ethics surrounding sentient SCPs, both with their treatment as well as ensuring they have chances at fulfillment and out of containment activity. This of course will be able to create storylines with the Ethics committee ideally, working with them by gaining trust of SCPs to possibly increase research and increase safe working standards and such, but also against as the treatment of the SCPs may supercede those of the D-class on site. As well, gaining the SCPs trust in order to further weaponize them or work "together" with some SCPs to weaponize their abilities for the foundation.
