Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
I am applying for Chief of Security because I love GENSEC. For me, GENSEC is home. Every time I play on this server I always find myself coming back to this sector in some way. Sometimes as a sergeant, sometimes as a captain, but I always want to use my skills to provide the support GENSEC needs and deserves. I want GENSEC to succeed, and I want to be able to step in to help do that. GENSEC is the backbone of the site.
The newest of cadets become the strongest of MTF COMs if only they have the chance to prove themselves and the support from their captains and chiefs to make it happen. When I first joined this server, the chiefs were Anakin and Mijur. It was them who inspired me to become a captain and eventually a chief the first time. It was them who provided a fun, engaging D-Block where I could play the role of a security guard and pop heads.
I want to provide this feeling to others.
A feeling of pride to be GENSEC, the ability to be strong while playing GENSEC, and the ability to move on to greater things because of GENSEC.
What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
My suitability for CoS comes from three places: my passion, my experience, and my ideas. Other oldheads in GSD will remember all of my grand ideas, and the effort put in to achieve them. Even now, although changed in form, subregiments that I had the joy of creating are still around. I also am a previous SGM, so I understand how to properly implement my ideas in a way that the playerbase can enjoy. I am not afraid to fail, I will create progress at any cost. My experience on this server is also vast, with more than enough previous captain experience, my past as a chief, and my ability to climb and lead the ranks in both O1 and UNGOC over the years. I understand what it takes to rally the troops, keeping them sharp, active, and most importantly happy to be a part of something greater inside of GSD. What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:
The responsibilities of the Chief of Security are vast, but it really boils down to site health and department health.
GSD interacts with every single faction on site. We have to be reliably staffed for Research, train them well in combat for graduation MTFs, assist in breaches and help ensure the CoC and CoE are being followed. It is all these things that the Chief is responsible for keeping in check. Guiding captains with correct and new procedures as the site changes over time, and ensuring that our policies positively impact site health through our unique interactivity that no other regiment has.
The other side of Chief is keeping GENSEC happy. People need to want to play GSD in order for everything to function. I am a firm believer that when done right, GENSEC is just as enjoyable as any other place in site (personally I believe it to be one of the best.) People want to RP as a guard. They want to escort interesting tests, man the battlestations, and quash riots. It is imperative that we ensure this happens.
I may put it simply but it is anything but simple to maintain. Being a good example, handling cross-departmental politics, implementing and overseeing policy, growing the captain base both in number and in quality, and mentoring new cadets, guards, and officers for greater responsibility is only the tip of the iceburg for the Chief of Security.
