Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
-
I am applying for executive researcher because I want to help be a leader within RSD. I believe RSD has a few good leaders in it currently and I want to join this group and assist in anyway possible. I also want to further my ability to create and join in on roleplay within the server. This server is full of dedicated role-players who are honestly some of the best I have seen across this game. My goal is to be in a position where I can follow in their footsteps and create roleplay lines and story lines. Another reason I am applying for executive researcher is I have goals for my character and the server and the experience I would receive in this position would be the next logical steps. Overall I want to help RSD where possible, help aspiring RSD members learn and grow, help create storylines other members of RSD can join in on, and grow my RP and career into this server.
-
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
-
I personally believe I can be a good leader and have a lot of experience being one. I also believe I have the ability to train others how to be researchers and implore the creative mindset into future RSD members the position can sometimes require. RSD could always use more people willing and able to teach young researchers and create more bright minds for the foundation. Alongside this, I believe I have a lot of ideas and strategies that could benefit the leadership team of RSD. With this position I could share, and possibly help implement ideas to run smoothly and be successful. Lastly, I believe I am suitable for this position due to my dedication, passion, and care I put into RSD. My overarching goal is for RSD to be successful and those around me to succeed within RP, as well as be having fun outside of RP.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
-
Currently I have 2 excellent graded documents with me conducting tests for 3 long-term research studies that I believe have the capabilities to be excellent graded documents.
What I believe makes an excellent graded document is clear concise details in all aspects. This means that what you are researching, how you are researching, and who you are researching and all of their elements are clearly defined and explained. A researcher must show true understanding of what they are doing and the goals of their experiment when writing an excellent document. They must show they understand the SCP they are testing, what tools in all capacity and personnel would be required to complete the experiment, and why those people and tools are required. When the researcher is going over their preparations, methodology, and goals of the study they should be clear on the step by step process of what's going to happen, what they expect to happen, and what could happen, and why. One of the most missed parts of a research document I see and hear about being missed is the what could happen. Overall our goal as RSD is to learn, and just because we expect a specific result does not mean our minds should not ponder whether or not that result is the only option, and what other things might happen. In my experience there is never just one possible result. Lastly, an excellent graded research document should tell a clear story in the findings and conclusion. The researcher should put down what they experienced, what those conducting the experiment with them experienced, and then they should analyze what occurred into matching that with their goals of the experiment. All of this wrapped up with proper grammar and sentence structure should result in an excellent graded document.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
-
The role of the Executive Researcher in RP is that of a mid level leader. They should be guiding and teaching those around and under them to ensure that they understand what they are meant to do, and how they can do it. This involves leading by example, involving lower level researchers in creative projects to show what's possible and teaching those new to the role about what their responsibilities are and ensuring they have all documentation templates and information they need to succeed. Alongside this, they should be there to assist researchers in their experiments, giving them advice to improve them and reading and authorizing research studies and projects for them. They would also be responsible for reading through and grading submitted documents and being able to explain why the document received the grade it got. Lastly I believe the role of the executive researcher would be to create roleplay for those newer to the environment and server to help get them involved in the studies.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
-
Jimi is currently involved in a number of rp storylines created by personal rolemodels of mine, Janice Fremont and Andrew Snow (yes two seperate storylines and people I look up to as top tier roleplayers). While these are their personal story lines I strive to be an enhancing factor in their rp and am dedicated to help progress their stories. Alongside this Jimi has his own goals and storylines to follow.
Jimi Zhengyi is a long term character idea of mine that I have brought to life in the SCP Universe. Jimi was born in Toronto, Canada to an abusive father and an addicted mother. Because of this neglect in his early life he threw himself at fantasy and immersed himself in imaginary worlds beyond. While growing up he sought to make his passion his work and become a scholar, and more precisely a scientist in the study of such things; Jimi became a renowned anthropologist and set out studying and attempting to discover fantastical things. Long-story short this caused him to be involved in the study of what turned out to be a gateway to another world. This was Jimi's first interaction with the foundation and was shortly after recruited. This gateway he researched got him to study Cartography with the foundation and become one of their cartographers. While he enjoyed exploring new places, often found himself going on week long trips in other dimensions his true goal has always been to hop into the fantastical lands he escaped to as a child. When Jimi, while assisting at another site, got to witness the now dormant SCP-1762 and was briefed on that story, his line of work changed, and he became determined to reopen the room to SCP-1762. He wanted to rediscover Fantasy and change the words on the box from "Here were dragons" back to "Here be dragons". This goal, this project will be Jimi's overarching storyline. He will set off to reopen the rooms to Fantasy, rediscover their new Fantasy, and once again find the dragons, and visit their land. That is what Jimi always dreamed of as a child.
