I’ve received one warning for RDM. I was playing GENSEC and thought a D-Class had a grenade (He did not..)
Why are you applying for the Director of Research position?
I’m applying for the Director of Research position because the leaders before me, Ryan, Desmond, and Min, have all helped build a tightly knit and highly capable Research Department. Their work has built a strong team, and taking on this role would let me continue that legacy and further my long-term goals. Since day one, I’ve aimed to create meaningful roleplay experiences and ensure that the people around me enjoy the interactions they have with me and with the department as a whole.
Taking on this position allows me to push RSD to grow and evolve beyond where it currently stands. I plan to enhance testing standards and open the door for more in-depth research that fully utilises what our site has to offer.
What makes you suitable for the Director of Research?:
I am suitable for the Director of Research role because of my dedication, care, and genuine commitment to the department and its people. Over the past four months, I’ve worked to create a better environment for everyone, whether that meant discussing policy changes, supporting Juniors and Researchers, or being the go-to person for fellow Executives, and I’ve stood by strong ideas that have helped shape the department into what it is today. I consistently step in when others are unable to, becoming the person people rely on when Directors are unavailable and ensuring the department continues to function smoothly. I’ve also helped develop four of our current Executives to meet department standards by teaching, guiding, and supporting them as they grew into the leaders who define our department. When I commit to something, it gets done; even living on the other side of the world, I maintain clear communication and keep everyone updated on every step I take, taking on more responsibility because I can manage it effectively.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?
The Director of Research is responsible for leading the entire Research Department and making sure everything runs smoothly. They manage the department, represent it in meetings with Site Administration and Site Command, and work with the Executive Research Team to make informed decisions. They check and approve research tests, make sure all rules and safety protocols are followed, and help solve problems that other researchers can’t handle on their own.
They also mentor new and experienced researchers, give out projects, and help people grow into leadership roles. The Director keeps communication open between Research and other departments and listens to feedback from researchers to improve the department. Overall, the Director of Research leads by example, supports their team, and helps the department fill gaps where others can't.
