Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?

I care about Site-65 and want to make it a better place. I think that when you first start working at Site-65, it can sometimes feel intimidating to approach higher-ups and ask questions about how to do your job. I want to be a friendly Executive who is there to support newcomers and help them feel welcomed so they can feel properly briefed and confident in their role. No question is a dumb question, and I truly believe that’s how we build a strong and unified research team that works together to be the best it can be.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:

I think that I am a quick learner and I care a lot about the quality of work I put out. I always try to make sure that anything I do is done properly and to the best of my ability. Even if I don’t know something right away, I’m not afraid to ask questions or find the person who does know so I can learn and improve. I think being able to communicate and work with others is really important in a leadership position, especially in research where teamwork matters so much. I also try to stay approachable and reliable so that people feel comfortable coming to me if they need help or guidance.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?

I actually don’t know the exact number. I do know that I helped write an almost perfect document with Grandpa Loth Scarpetto and Mev Scarpetto. I also helped work on and fill out a majority of the Clearance 1 Compendium for new researchers. I am currently working on an exciting project for 'Gourmand' and have another study that I have written, but haven't had the chance to physically do yet. I really enjoy writing documents that tell a story and make the reader feel engaged with the experiment or study being presented.

I think an excellent document starts with curiosity and creativity. If you have an idea that genuinely sparks your creativity, then it already has a strong foundation to become an excellent study. After that, it’s about taking your time and really building the story of the experiment before you even run it. The more research and preparation you do beforehand, the more flushed out and believable the document will feel, and the easier it is to adapt during the experiment itself because you’re prepared for anything.

Lastly, editing and formatting are what take a document from good to excellent. Editing is what makes a document with good bones go from great to almost perfect. I like to ask myself questions like: “Would I want to read this?” “Does this look organized and interesting?” and “Is my writing clear?/Does it show off my writing style?” If you can answer those questions with a yes confidently, then you’ll know whether the document is excellent or not.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:

I am still very new, and I’m learning new things about the job every day. From my understanding, an Executive Researcher is there to sign off on studies and sampling projects when researchers need approval from higher-ups. We are one of the first people researchers go to when they need guidance, approval, or support with their work.

I also think an Executive Researcher should be approachable and willing to answer questions people may have about SCPs or research procedures so that their time in RSD feels enjoyable and productive. A big part of the role is helping newer researchers feel comfortable and supported while also making sure work is being handled properly. We’re also there to listen to concerns people might have and bring those concerns to the Director of Research or higher-ups if needed. I am sure there are other responsibilities I don't know about yet, but am curious to find out.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

To be honest, I don’t remember much from before I started working here. All I really have are flashes of memories about a boy who was kind to me when I was a child. When I first arrived at the facility, I didn’t even know what to call myself, but kind people took me into their lives and adopted me. That’s when I became Kayab Scarpetto. I’m incredibly grateful they did, because I honestly don’t think I would have survived a week in this facility alone.

I still remember the first time I met Bean the director of research at the time. He was always kind, welcoming, and patient with me when I was trying to figure everything out. I was very sad when bean passed away. But I guess the new Directors are pretty cool. There's something weird about Andrew Snow.. for some reason, he always felt strangely familiar to me, even though we've never met before.
