{USA} Kyle Walter Smith [SCP-7727-LF]

Theme
Foundation
PURPOSE:

It would be great to add this to the inanimate section for new players. It keeps the inanimate room fresh and fun. This could also be a fun event to run over a couple of days and see how much information and fun things we can create with this new anomaly. Things like chemicals, weapons, general studies, etc….

This was solely my idea with the help of SCP-7727 to make the lore make sense. All you need to know is that it’s a very personal and funny inside joke between family and friends.

LORE

We have contained what we believe to be the left foot of a D-Class also known as Kyle Walter Smith D-2207

On ██/██/20██, Foundation personnel recovered what is believed to be the severed left foot of former D-Class personnel by the name Kyle Walter Smith (D-2207) following an incident in D-Block housing. Initial recovery teams reported heightened aggression, paranoia, and compulsive self-harming behaviour after prolonged exposure to the object. Four (4) D-Class exposed to Kyle Walter Smith (D-2207) were found dead and countless other D-Class and Staff have been injured to varying degrees.

While first believed to be the result of unsanitary conditions common among lower-level containment populations, repeated reports from D-Class inmates suggest this anomaly predates severance of the limb itself. Testimonies consistently describe an overwhelming odour emanating from D-2207’s feet capable of inducing mania, irrational hostility, violent outbursts, and eventual psychological collapse. Claiming that the “smell of his feet made them act that way…”

Despite the absurdity of the claim, casualty patterns surrounding D-2207 are statistically difficult to dismiss.

It’s possible that we could use this in combat as a sort of highly lethal stink bomb that can confuse and distract enemies.

Furthermore, it’s possible that we could work to find a cure for people affected by SCP-7727, so that innocent people don’t need to be contained like animals.

We’re not sure if this is a variant of SCP-7727 but we are keeping an eye out.

DESCRIPTION

SCP-7727-LF is believed to be the severed left foot of former D-Class personnel designated D-2207, identified in records as Kyle Walter Smith (D-2207).

The anomaly was initially dismissed as severe hygiene-related neglect following repeated complaints from D-Class personnel housed near D-2207. Over time, reports escalated into documented incidents of paranoia, violent behavior, psychosis, self-harm, and suicide among individuals exposed to D-2207 for prolonged periods.

Witnesses consistently described an odor associated with SCP-7727-LF as:

“The worst thing they’ve ever smelled in their life.”

However, chemical analysis of surrounding air samples revealed no toxins, infectious agents, spores, hallucinogens, or anomalous compounds.

The exact nature of the anomaly remains unknown.

Current working theories suggest the effect may not be chemical in nature, but instead a form of cognitohazardous or memetic phenomenon interpreted by the human brain as smell.

Notably:
- air filtration systems do not fully prevent exposure
- written or verbal descriptions of the odor may trigger mild reactions in susceptible individuals

Researchers theorize SCP-7727-LF may function as an emotional amplifier rather than a direct psychological contaminant, and intensifies feelings of resentment, shame, aggression, paranoia, self-loathing.

Further study is pending approval.

NOTE: Possible that 1% of people become intoxicated by the smell and fall in love with the foot, claiming that there is nothing else in this world that they could love more and may become aggressive when someone ties to separate them.

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES

SCP-7727-LF is currently contained within a triple-sealed airtight glass container housed in a temporary containment chamber at Site-65. The chamber is to remain under constant ventilation and equipped with industrial-grade air filtration systems and chemical neutralizing agents.

Personnel entering the containment area are required to wear full biohazard protection suits regardless of prior exposure status.

Air fresheners and deodorizing agents placed within the chamber consistently lose effectiveness following prolonged exposure to SCP-7727-LF. Requests for replacement supplies have increased by 340% since containment began.

Personnel assigned to SCP-7727-LF for periods exceeding [REDACTED] minutes have demonstrated:
- Irritability
- Insomnia
- Mania
- Irrational hostility toward coworkers
- Signs of psychological deterioration after limited exposure

The foot has reportedly changed position within its containment case on [REDACTED] occasions despite no recorded movement on surveillance equipment.

Research into possible connections between SCP-7727-LF and unresolved olfactory cognitohazard events associated with SCP-7727 (“Doctor Robert’s”) remains ongoing.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON D-2207

Very little verified information regarding Kyle Walter Smith exists.

Personnel exposed to SCP-7727-LF for extended periods frequently insist they knew D-2207 personally despite no documented interaction.

Additional inconsistencies include:
- Conflicting physical descriptions
- Incomplete personnel files
- Contradictory intake records
- Staff disagreement regarding D-2207’s voice, age, and appearance

No surviving staff member has been able to provide a fully consistent description of D-2207’s face.

INCIDENT REPORT:

Available upon request as they are quite violent.
