Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?:
(This is going to sound sappy, but its genuine) My fondest times during my first stint on the server were through medical and the people I met there. I loved every second of my former tenure building Medical up the best I could and trying to give the personnel more interactivity and protections. Returning to Medical made those fond memories and experiences well back up and quickly brough me back to the decision to stay once again, especially with how wonderfully Medical has grown since. I only further wish to help do it all yet again, be it through helping the RP experience for medical personnel to be more lively or help draft further plans and documents that will help future Medical personnel in SCP-RP to really enjoy learning and growing in said department as it brings me pride to help them genuinely learn from it.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
I do have prior experience with medical through my tenure assisting a Medical Director and my tenure as one. However, I'm not going to hang tightly to that as a merit, and instead mention that I have spent time reacquainting myself with the going-on's of medical. I reinforce the habit of keeping logs of any actions I do under my medical tenure through the in game documentation system. All logged actions include everything performed such as: ECT, Treating common illness, Surgery, prescription refills, OTC medication given, Mental Evals, Physicals, and substances used for treatment. I also have experience with helping draft documents to make plans or ideas to further medical through google docs if need be, HH-3 being and example, trying to at first help Combat Medics be more interactive with the Site as a whole. Being interactive as such, I feel, is the most enjoyable.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
Surgery - (Blunt force truama injury/Skull fracture example)
- Make sure the victim of BFT brought to you is still capable of mental faculties (Vision, speech, movement, etc.) before interring them to the medical ward or surgical room, mainly to figure out how severe the BFT is.
- Have help bringing the patient gently to a operating room and cleanly prepped before scrubbing in at the sink and counter.
- Scrub in BEFORE SURGERY IS PERFORMED. (/me scrubs in at the sink, removing any and all hazardous accessories.)
- Make sure that the BFT victim is laid properly up on the operating table with their head and/or upper body at a 40 degree angle up to avoid any excessive drainage of CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) from the ears in case the patient suffered ear rupture due to the BFT.
- Begin by prepping or helping surgical team ready a dual feed IV Drip needle to be hooked up with Saline and anesthesia. Clamp the hose before finding the large vein in the inner arm (preferably in the forearm) and pushing the needle in. [Roll d20. Succeed on 10+]
- Once the patient is under anesthesia, shave (if necessary) the target incision area of the skull fracture and sanitize. A bacterial infection caused around the brain is the LAST thing you need.
- Begin be gently cutting into the area/scalp with a #10 scalpel to safely uncover the fractured skull [Roll d20, 10+ succeeds]. Hold gently with medical tape if need be, avoid constantly moving the skin.
- Assess the fracture if any of the skull is now fragments and adjust VERY gently, making sure any sharp fragments are removed. [Roll d20, 10+ succeeds]
- Use a surgical power drill on not on High, or a orthopedic hand drill to gently make holes around the fracture site in more secure points to them seat sturdy steel pins or rods as anchors. [Roll d20 or D100 depending on size of fracture area, 10+ or 50+ respectively succeeds]
- Ready the subdermal skull plate atop the anchors to lock it in. [Roll d20, 12+ succeeds, failure bends a pin or rod, requiring re-adjustment]
- Gently clean up the plate before replacing the surgically moved skin/scalp before suturing with biodegradable suture thread or a staple stitching. [Roll d20, 10+ succeeds, higher reduces in-lore scarring if applicable]
- Have the stitched up area cleaned and apply a antibiotic cream lightly before closing the surgery and having the patient wheeled to recovery to eventually wake up and later passively recover with medical oversight.
[[Rolling critical failures anywhere in the surgery may require immediate remedy or may cause damage and/or kill the patient]]
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
- Upholding the safety of the actions and lives in medical and around the site.
- Watch over tests alongside research when need or helping other sections of the site.
- Properly teach, instruct and inform new and current members of medical of the rules, equipment, and step-by-step processes of medical.
- Carrying out decrees or rules/orders from Senior medical leadership [Director of Medicine, Lead Physicians]
- Helping trainees prepare for and then test them for their medical license, and helping other qualifying personnel learn about and then testing/hosting tryouts for them on Combat Medic.
- Concoct remedies and cures for common illnesses and teach others how to make them.
- Perform the regular duties of medical and give treatment to others if needed/requested.
- Do surgeries or help make sure surgeries are performed properly if by Sr. Doctors.
- Help assist medical leadership in opportunities that would improve the day-to-day of Medical as a whole.

_______________________________________________________________________
Born to two stern but loving parents in [REDACTED],1997, Luigi was born into a family with an older sister in a decently middle class upbringing. Both of his parents would have an influence on him blatantly with the path he'd take later on, both with how they were at work and at home. His father was a deputy K-9 handler that took pride in looking after the county he worked in more than the action he was involved in for little over a decade, later learning and getting into cyber security during its modern infancy even up to now. At home he was reserved but "acted like a gentle giant" from the words of Luigi himself when interviewed during his one week holding period and background check. His mother was mostly a opposite in how she carried herself, being a loud and proud woman but equally as caring for others as his father. Her occupation was that of a Radiologist for most of Luigi's childhood and she'd even sometimes bring him along to the Regional Hospital of which she worked. These moments of which she brought him would begin to instill the seeds of Luigi's medical aspirations, as Luigi himself is quoted. -"Seeing the comradery of her coworkers all set on making sure that everyone that came in left with no problems made me, as young as I was, proud to call her my mom. Both my parents were passively prideful in a way that helped others, and I think that this just helped me along with my path, even if just slightly."-
Luigi's school records indicate with his extra cred classes that he picked ones that allowed him a role to help others and be hands on, regardless of the subject. He wasn't entirely a saint in school, as there were some subjects he slacked in only just to pass barely, and even got into a couple fights, one resulting in brief suspension. Due to poor record keeping of the school, however, the only explanation of WHY those fights happened and one was a suspension was, "Two of them was to get someone away from being picked on, though the last one almost caused the kid I hit to have a ruptured ear drum. They couldn't really gloss over that, or they'd get hit with a lawsuit." There was a couple records of him going to therapy on anger issue related problems, so they could be tied to the fights. His sister, though two years his senior, was commonly backing him up, with the both of them acting relatively the same, attitude-wise.
After graduating high-school, he decided to enlist the same time his best-friend would. Choosing this as a proper time to act on his want and need to follow relatively the same path as his parents in helping his fellow man, just a different route. Enlisting with the USMC, he'd pick the "Sixty-Eight Whiskey" MOS, referred to as a Combat Medic. His physical aptitude scores during basic were sublime to most, but he got the job done. It was during training for his MOS that he excelled a lot better, instead of ONLY focusing at succeeding his training, he took time to help the others better grasp and finish their training regimens. Later interviewed, the instructors looked favorably upon that, even if he was a bit shakey at explaining and helping others. On his deployments, mostly in the Middle East, he saw a fair amount of minor scuffles with OPFOR (Insurgents and local guerillas). Luigi was quoted on record saying he "vilified urban combat" as it was "a massive easy spike to cortisol, making it much easier to make mistakes and panic due to so many ambush spots." He himself made it through his 4-year contract with no injuries sustained, though he himself had to watch many others, be it from his own unit, others, and one instance of our imbedded operative [Redacted] who was hit in a urban scuffle. Corroborating details from Luigi's own memory and that of the report from said operative lined up details, especially location, date and injury sustained during the engagement. Operative [REDACTED] stated in a later interview during Luigi's holding period that the Combat Medic had his 'combat buddy' cover him to run forward and then drag back the operative under intermittent gunfire to behind the Humvee to properly stop his life from 'cutting short.'
Luigi then left service with good marks, returning home, his family happy to see him well and good. Re-adjustment was a challenge for him allegedly, as moving from a few years of deployment and regimental living to being a civi again made job hunting a little stressful. He needed something to do for work while he would plan for college. It was around this time said operative from earlier name dropped him in passing as a recommendation for new Site staff in Canada. External Agents then worked on sending him inquiries, and eventually bringing him to above site for 1-week holding for the majority of the background check and in-person assessment. Three of the four agents deemed the checks done were well enough proper, and forwarded him deeper into Site-65 with oversight into the medical sector... with Luigi making a final comment before leaving the holding site: "At least its not the scalding hot desert anymore."
