Discord name: Ohfr?
For how long have you played on CG SCP: 3 - 4 Weeks
Age: 20
In what country are you located?: United States
Time zone: CST
Character name(s): Marvin Skoop
Civilian name: Marvin Snow
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): USA
Do you have a mic?:
- Yes
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
- None
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
- None
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
- I am applying for the role of Executive Researcher because I am incredibly interested in the research department of Site-65 and have enjoyed being able to come up with creative and interesting tests that provide the foundation with useful information. My time on the server is primarily spent with the research department brainstorming test ideas, helping juniors get the lay of the land, and conducting experiments. I truly love this process and have found a real desire to discover and explore the nature of the anomalies in Site-65. Becoming an Executive Researcher would allow me not only to perform more important and ambitious experiments, but would also allow me to be of greater use to the research department as a whole by providing less experienced researchers with the help and information they need to be creative, successful, and safe.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
- In the time I've spent on the server I believe that I've conducted myself in a helpful and appropriate manner that other researchers could look toward if they need guidance or just need to ask a simple question. I follow the rules without issue while also not fun policing other members of the community as the most important thing at the end of the day is that everyone involved is having fun. I enjoy putting a foot forward when it comes to reviewing documents with my peers and I love to give helpful feedback that fits well with the fellow researchers writing style. With all of this in mind, becoming an Executive Researcher would only give me more effective tools for helping researchers become more familiar with their role and more comfortable writing a document.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
- I have written a total of 5 documents all of which have been classed at excellent-grade. The most important aspect of an excellent document is organization, nothing you do matters if your document is chaotic and illegible. Starting with an index helps add much needed structure to your document that serves your reader as a guide and you as a base so you don't get lost in all of your information. Detail is incredibly important throughout your document, another researcher reading should be able to easily replicate your experiment simply by using the information within your document, this is why the purposes of your study as well as the methodology is important to include in your final draft. Things like images can only amplify a good document and shouldn't be considered a priority.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
- When going from Senior to Executive Researcher your responsibilities change quite a bit in nature. A lot less time is spent testing and more time is spent being a guide and mentor to your peers. You must be there to answer questions, approve tests, approve credits, approve documents and be as useful as you can to fellow researchers. Additionally, Holding lectures to help improve the skills of your peers as well as providing your valuable signature on documents that may need to go through site administration are some of the most important factors of being an Executive Researcher.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
- Being relatively young for his position, Marvin had always put his education in front of everything else in his life. With hard work he managed to obtain his master's in Biology at 24 years old. With his resume complete at a relatively young age, Marvin would eventually be approached with an opportunity to research at one of the foundations facilities. With a new direction for his career Marvin has been struck with curiosity and ambition, using these feelings to be of use to the foundation. After working for the foundation as a Senior Researcher for as much time as he has, Marvin wants to be of even greater use to the foundation by using his experience to help the research department bloom into something greater than it already is.
