Why are you applying for Director of Internal Security?I am applying for Director of Internal Security because I believe that Walter and I could form an effective leadership duo capable of bringing much needed change and stability into the department so we can continue to increase the overall activity and roleplay loop of the Internal Security Department. This department has a massive amount of potential to still give, and I believe it needs strong direction, with Directors who are accessible and willing to try their best to provide RP opportunities and breath life into the department through their hard work and dedication.
I also strongly wish to continue serving the Internal Security Department in a broader oversight role. As Director I would have the ability to help shape the policies and procedures that affect every agents day to day life in ISD. My main goal is to make the department more organized, approachable, and improve relation with all departments across Site-65.
I want ISD to be more than just a arrest department. I want it to feel like it is actually the Foundation's shield against corruption, negligence, abuse of power, and all threats from within. I know I have the ability to carry that vision out which is why I am one of the best picks for the role.
What makes you suitable for Director of Internal Security?
What makes me suitable for Director of Internal Security is my sense of accountability. Everyone makes mistake, even me, especially when I was disrespectful during the course of a Tribunal chat because I was getting annoyed by arguments that I believe are baseless. However I realize what I did was wrong and apologized and came back with a level head because at the end of the day this is a game and sometimes we just need to step back and relax and assess ourselves. If I hold myself accountable for my mess ups then I am capable of holding others for theirs. I believe a Director should not only punish wrongdoing, but also prevent it by holding interventions and trainings to improve the departments understanding of what we are here to do for Site-65.
I would make a strong choice because I am willing to take the role seriously and work to improve the gameplay of the Internal Security Department so we can do more cool things that gives our fellow department members meaningful things to do. I have already participated in several large RP scenarios proving my ability to LARP in any situation which makes me also a great pick to be in a RP lead position for a department. I want this department to be respected, active, and feared for the right reasons and not the wrong ones. I am sure that I can do it, especially since I have previous CL4 department head experience under my belt.
What are some RPs you contributed to?
While this isn't on the actually application responses required I feel it is important to list out some major roleplays I have been involved in within my time as ISD.
- Evidence against the O5 Council as Victor Von "Grimoire" Kraut got signed evidence of them subverting the Code of Ethics, requiring this character to be smuggled off site by the Committee as a key integral witness.
- The Trial of A1- Commander "Ruin" where Inspector Michael "Adjudicator" Krenik where we successfully convicted the Commander of second degree murder, gave them a plea deal just to cut down the trial time.
- Trial of O1 Captain Grand Regent U.N.K. where mysteriously the Captain resigned his commission and left the Foundation's service (o7 HUNK)
- Current trials against the DEA Director and Omega-1 itself for attempted murder and murder.
- Operation Techie Down where Michael "Adjudicator" Krenik has placed himself in the direct sights of "The Conspirators" when he staged a secret meeting to record evidence of their leader. The Ethics Committee did not respond in time which resulted in a massive riot in which Michael was both nearly assassinated and kidnapped in a single session.
- And another huge case that is in the works which I won't say here cause no metagaming lol.
The Director of Internal Security is responsible for the highest leveled enforcement on the Site and leading head first into investigating corruption, enforcing the law, and maintaining order with the fellow members of Internal Security. The Director's role is to not only personally enforce the law, but use their subordinates effectively. Guiding them in to building strong cases, gathering evidence, conducting interrogations, and building reports that result in massive take downs saving the Foundation from itself.
The Director also ensures that ISD itself remains clean, the department can not protect the Foundation from corruption if it also has corruptions in its own ranks. The Director must be willing to discipline ISD personnel when necessary to maintain the high standards of professionalism which is what ISD has come to be known for.
Please give some lore about your Director of Internal Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Michael "Adjudicator" Krenik was chosen for the ruthlessness he has demonstrated. Because when corruption is found deeply routed in Site-65, the Committee needs a blade to cut the cancer at the source. That is why he was chosen the "Adjudicator", known for being tough on crime and passionate about justice. The Committee know that where others saw the law as a insignificant process, he saw it as a weapon, a weapon to use no matter if it was a guard, director, or elite classified regiments they knew that if they ever crossed the line Krenik would eventually come for them.
Krenik's darker path that few know about began after the loss of a close Foundation colleague whose name has been stripped by redactions and misinformation. This was not just simply a tragedy, but to him, proof that the Foundation's systems of Justice were too slow and too corrupt in order to protect anyone. From that moment on he became dangerous, he became ideological. You see law no longer meant the same thing to Krenik as it did before because in the law there are always loop holes. Now he believes that if this Site is ever going to properly heal and corruption's reign end, then he needs to become judge, jury, and executioner.
From then onwards Michael "Adjudicator" Krenik became a name to fear, with rumors about his own illegal actions of blackmailing personnel, silencing witnesses which could be trouble, and making violators disappear if the law was unable to prosecute them. He positioned himself as one of the few men willing to drag corruption into the light, even if he has to burn everything around him in order to do so.
The Ethics Committee only ever saw the surface of this work. They saw convictions, corrupt personnel removed, ISD growing stronger and willing to challenge abuse of power. To them Michael was the clear choice for successor, a blade they can use against the Foundation as a tool to remove the rot and support their agenda. So quietly they elevated him with the understanding that ISD needed a figure capable of restoring fear into the hearts of the guilty, but what they could not know, or at least what he wouldn't let them know, that in fact they appointed a instrument of absolute terror onto the Site.
As Director he continued in his crusade against corruption and injustice pursuing personnel who believe their rank places them beyond consequence, while still waring with himself to recognize the difference between justice and vengeance. And what is the most frightening thing about this? He believes he is right, and that may be the most terrifying thing a Director can be.
