Why are you applying for Director of Research?

Why I'm applying for Director of Research? Other than the obvious thing being it being the next logical jump for an executive that being to shoot for becoming the Director. I became an executive to solve the problem of accessibility of the executives during times before and during peak times of activity in the site. Obviously with the new round of executives the lack of activity in research command has increased and most of the time you can reach someone to assist with your issues and questions regarding research. With that being said with the recent departure of Desmond to site admin and Gimmy leaving to a better place it only feels right to attempt to help man the ship of guiding research into its future endeavors. That being said I'll be attempting to assist research in the Director position by actually talking to people the people on the ground attempting to make something of this department which will lead to making policy changes that actually benefit the health of the department instead of ignoring the plights of the lay man. Just to be clear I'm applying because I wish to attempt to make it both easier to research by writing in policy to lower restrictions and if needed lobbying for changes if it'll help RSD thrive.

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?:

What makes someone suitable for a being a director? I believe it comes from a number of things the first thing obviously is experience as an Executive researcher which I should have been that I've been an executive for almost four months now. Over those almost four months I've been in CRB, T&S, and finally the acting head of Research and Projects. Obviously over that time I've seen how most of the department works and I've seen many people come and go from the department. Helping train my fellow executives, and my juniors along the way; and the next quality I believe a director should have other than experience is the ability to be able to communicate. That being able to communicate for yourself and your peers to assist in day-to-day activities and to be able to clearly and concisely push for things without causing issues for everyone involved. That also means being able to allow myself to be challenged from time to time and being able to agree that I might be wrong from time to time. This experience comes from me being a CO in O-1 (while not long) which has allowed me to experience more active forms of leadership other than just the basic form of RP leadership that my peers have been able to achieve. Next is adaptability a leader should be able to direct the department during the highs and lows of the department without giving into despair that activity is drying up, but to at the very least attempt to remedy the problem. Through either actively communicating with his or her executives or with the juniors either through polling or through genuine conversation as most people will easy give you answers if you just simply ask them the right questions.

TLDR: I'm experienced as an executive, I'm pretty easy to talk to, and I'm adaptable. :STEAMHAPPY:

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:

The responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP... It's a number of things being the face of the Department with the other director, to maintain/create Department policies, to appoint/ manage the executives in the department, to engage/ support RP in the department. Assisting the executive, and junior research staff with issues that a normal executive can't assist with. Realistically there are plenty of things that a Director of Research does that isn't exactly listed here or blatantly noticeable by the normal research staff, that's obvious as the Director should be supporting things from both the shadows and from the front both making it easier for RSD to thrive while they're on site and off of the site. Hence the point of them being a director...

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:

General Information...
Name: Min Vagabonds
Age:27
Weight:156 lbs.
Height: 5.3 ft.
Current Assignment: Executive Researcher
Clearance level: Four

Min has either overseen or actively participated in a variety of tests/projects. From projects such as Kronos, and teal. Pushing limits on his studies and over documenting on all of them. Many have seen him working tirelessly rewriting said documents only to scrap it and write it all from the beginning. He seeks perfection or at least to get close to it. From a very young age Min has been an inquisitive mind always seeking out different forms of literature and information until he exposed himself to the world on the other side of the veil. After stumbling onto information, he shouldn't have during his studies in university he became enamored in this unknown that he'd been unaware of for his whole life. After being visited by a field agent who had noticed he had run into an info breach he inquired on how he could go about joining his line of work... after much consideration and some amnestification he was later pulled into the foundation as a junior level researcher at a sister site of site-65. During his time there he climbed up the ranks to executive and transferred to site-65 to assist the team after the tragic loss of executive researcher Max Knights. After which he joined training and supervision with a new colleague Gimmy Finnigan. Working diligently with Gimmys oversight he'd helped grow the departments executive team with the junior staff he assisted in training up. After and a lot of paper pushing he was promoted to senior executive and transferred to Research and Projects where he began pushing out projects focused on attempting to remedy issues with undertesting and lack thereof certain types of documentation work. With a few months working at this site and a Director of Research position opening up he feels that it was time to go for the next big promotion. With that in mind he wrote up a pretty haphazard application and threw it into the pile and prayed that someone might pick him out of pity!
