SCP-7711 — “Spirit of the Lake"

Item #: SCP-7711
Object Class: Euclid
Clearance Level: 3
Assigned Personnel Designation: Dr. Misty “River” Rain

Special Containment Procedures

SCP-7711 is currently housed within a modified humanoid containment suite at Site-██. Due to SCP-7711's anomalous traits they have been placed into a humanoid containment unit that has been equipped with a small pond. Most of her time is spent within this pond as she seems to become quite upset when not within the presence of water for a long period of time. Their cell is equipped with activities for them to do such as television and locked down computer equipment, though this equipment is heavily modified for water proofing as the entity often ruins electronics due to their nature of being wet.

After a year of containment within Site-██ it was determined that SCP-7711 was of much more use to the foundation as an asset rather than a contained anomaly. They were transferred to site 65 where they were assigned to the Research wings bunks. As they were determined to not be a threat, SCP-7711 now referred to as "River" or Misty was given full access to all CL3 areas of Site 65, while she is considered a member of the Senior Researcher team she receives much higher super vision than most as she is still fairly new to the foundation.

Following incident ████████ 'River' has been barred from interacting with any important electronics within the foundation's purview. They are instructed instead to request assistance from any nearby personnel if the equipment hasn't specifically been cleared for use by her and waterproofed sufficiently. A follow up to incident ████████ must not be repeated as we lost hundreds of hours of work in mere moments.

Description

SCP-7711 presents as a humanoid sapient entity that consists of almost entirely water shaped in the form of an above average height human female. They appear to stand around 7'7 inches tall, though their height does fluctuate from time to time depending on their access to water. They appear to emit light from a strange series of biolumincent plankton that appears to float around inside of their body. They appear to form the rough shape of a skeletal structure within her body.

Despite clearly being made of water, SCP-7711 seems to demonstrate human like qualities, they are capable of speech and have above average human level intelligence. They appear to also experience normal human emotions and after many psychological tests appear to be on a baseline or above average for mental wellbeing in humans. They often demonstrate an immense level of kindness even to those who may be seen as enemies, while she doesn't directly defect or act outside the interest of the foundation, she doesn't intentionally harm or kill, always opting instead for a more diplomatic approach.
While SCP-7711 does not require sleep, food, or oxygen to survive necessarily they appear to emulate humans in a way in the sense that if they are exposed to an illness or a situation that would harm and potentially kill a normal human, she reacts in the same way. Though research has shown it doesn't actually do any damage to her physically, her memories of these events is completely wiped away and any attempt to remind her of it causes her immense levels of stress that she doesn't normally exhibit.

She thrives in aquatic environments and its one of the few places she differs from an average human and no longer follows the rules listed above where she copies human physiology. When in the water she expresses no need to breathe oxygen and appears to move much faster through the water. Often times when near to a large body of water, SCP-7711 can be seen speaking with it as if it is responding to her, though the language is as of yet unknown and SCP-7711 refuses to elaborate further.

Discovery

SCP-7711 was discovered in the French Alps; she was at a mountain spring by a group of hikers who reported seeing a blue woman swimming in the spring. While originally these claims were dismissed by authorities as a group hallucination from the lack of oxygen at such high altitudes, tips were passed through secure channels to the SCP foundation who investigated the claims. After sending in a task force they located SCP-7711 who appeared a bit confused at the presence of other humans, though at the time she didn't put up much resistance to the operatives. She spoke with them, and debriefs of the operatives on the mission after insisted that she was actually quite pleasant and remarked it was one of the most relaxing missions they had been on.

Containment/Defection Procedures

(Under no circumstances may SCP-7711 view this section.)

SCP-7711 while considered to be a friendly addition to the Site-65 staff must be treated as an anomaly and thus certain risks are at place if it decides to defect or escape from the foundation's custody. While she hasn't demonstrated any desire to do so, plans are set in place in the event than an incident does happen. SCP-7711 appears to once again replicate human behavior and this doesn't seem to be a conscious choice, meaning that any standard issue fire arm should be enough to dehabilitate the anomaly long enough to recontain it. While this doesn't kill the SCP it does allow them to be transported easily, and once within a cell they do not appear to be able to break out.
