Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
-I am applying for Executive Researcher because in recent days and weeks I have grown very fond of the Civil Gamers SCP RP server and I have especially grown fond of the Research Department. I immediately fell in love with the idea of crafting well formatted documents and was familiar with the lore. A while back, say 1 or 2 years ago, I got really into SCP lore. I eventually stopped looking into SCP lore and got bored of it, why? Because I had no reason to continue to look into it. Now that I found the RP server, my drive to look into SCP lore has been re-invigorated. In perfect honestly, I re-found my love for SCP lore; and I really want to play a garry's mod server following the idea of the SCP Foundation because I am an absolute nerd, and I am not afraid to admit it.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
-I am suitable for Executive Researcher for three reasons; one, I am quick to learn and in my short time on the server playing actively, I have re-learned quite the amount of SCP lore, I have learned quite the bit of server rules, and I have learned the ins and outs of the server's Code of Ethics, and the Research Code of Conduct in a very short time. Two, I am willing and able to help Jr. Researchers, and Researchers with any problems that they might have, and have done so routinely since I was a Researcher. Lastly, I am suitable for the position of Executive Researcher because of my activity; for the past 2 weeks, I have been playing quite a lot and have logged onto the server for at least an hour just about every single day.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
-As far as I can tell, I have written 4 (edit: I now have 6) (editx2: I now have 8) excellent documents to date. Hopefully more in coming days.

Here is a list of things that a document requires to be considered excellent:
  • -a creative title
  • -a creative and ethical test idea
  • -an informative index
  • -a well formatted style
  • -reasonable detail
  • -well filled out pages
  • -a lack of grammar mistakes
  • -collaboration with other researchers on final product (most important one)
  • If required, ethics or Exec+ approval

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
-In roleplay the responsibilities of an Executive Researcher can be narrowed down to 3 general categories. One, oversight of tests; tests within the Foundation and in Site 65 need to be carefully thought out, reasonable, and most importantly ethical. One of the jobs of an Executive Researcher is to ensure the tests being conducted are ethical. Two, grading papers; grading papers is not only important in roleplay, but important for the research department as a whole. If you papers aren't being graded, it demonstrates an inactive and unwilling team of Executive Researchers, whilst if you get papers back quick with good constructive feedback, this demonstrates a proactive Executive Researcher+ team. This also swings back to roleplay, because Jr. Researcher+ will attempt to get better grades on their papers, and do better research, just as long as valid feedback is returning back to them. Lastly is the mentorship of Jr. Researchers+, if Executive Researchers did not cultivate the researches of lower ranking researchers, nobody would have the drive to rank up in the department, simply because nobody would have a clue how anything works. If there is an individual willing to mentor those Jr. Researchers+, they would have a better experience in the department, and want to stay.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
-My character, Randy "Randalls" Murphy is a massive nerd. He grew up heading to afterschool star wars clubs and worked in comic book store while he was a teenager. Following highschool, Randy set himself off into the study of the paranormal. When Murphy was 24 years old, he was depressed and not getting anywhere in his life, then he met his Ex. His Ex dragged him into all sorts of new sub-fields of science within his field. Eventually his and her researches picked up the attention of the Foundation. His Ex, Wendy, was killed in the SCP-096-1-A breach orchestrated by Dr. Dan, and Dr. Oleksei. Following this event in his life he grieved through his work, and eventually was scooped up one night by foundation intelligence operatives and put to work as a Jr. Researcher. He put his head down and worked until he was of the rank of Sr. Researcher, then he learnt of his girlfriend's killer officially. Just like Dr. Dan, and Oleksei; Randy Murphy desperately wants to kill SCP-096. It was during his time early in the foundation when he earned the name "Randalls" because it was said by class-D when making fun of his shy appearance, "clear the halls!", "site shooter on the loose!". Hence a combination of "Randy" and "Halls" was made from this sick joke, "Randalls". Randy "Randalls" Murphy continues to work today at the Foundation, at the position of Sr. Researcher.

Thank you for taking the time to apply for Executive Researcher. Unfortunately, after observation's of your employment, we have determined that you are unsuitable for this position due to not enough time as a member of Research. You may reapply in 2 weeks. During this time, it is recommended you work alongside existing Executives to gain more experience, if possible.
