Why are you applying for Internal Affairs Ambassador?: I am applying for Internal Affairs Ambassador so I may continue my past contributions to the department which include my activity, knowledge, and skills such as with google sheets. I'd also like to be responsible for training new agents; showing them the ropes of what it takes to be a good IA agent, what to look out for, and what not to do. Upon looking at the internal affairs roster, I noticed that the department is lacking a little bit on the Ambassador side and as someone who plays during the midnight-8am hours when there are no Ambassadors on, I feel that I can continue to enforce the guidelines of the department and ensure all agents on at my time are enforcing the legal codex and COE properly. In addition to currently holding ECA, I'd also just like to more formally be apart of a department's leadership team, and having had experience with IA, I think that makes me more drawn to it already knowing some of the people in it's team that I've worked with previously.

What makes you suitable for Internal Affairs Ambassador?: What makes me a suitable candidate for the Internal Affairs Ambassador position is my previous experience in the department as well as the skills I possess and my current time allotment. These 3 keys are what allow my application to stand out and soar above my competition.

I have a lot of hard skills that the department could find useful including with the google workspace platform (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and I was the Ambassador responsible for some of the formulas seen on the Ambassadors worksheet and the one solely responsible for the creation of sub-unit Virtuous' roster. As someone who's put into practice the utilization of sheets formulas, the app script for sheets and such, no Ambassador or IA Director would feel "stuck" in not being able to see what they're envisioning come to life on their internal documents.

My previous experience both in the department and with personnel leadership overall is vast. Previously as Internal Affairs Ambassador I co-lead the subunit Virtuous, organized meetings with Mobile Task Force Nu-7 to resolve inter-departmental conflicts; which was my proudest moment in the department, and did a handful of utilitarian functions for IA such as the previously mentioned google formulas. Focusing on leadership overall, I've ran my own gaming communities, lead teams at work in real life, and have been able to be self-motivating as a freelance-based software developer. With my application you know you are getting a proven track record of success, loyalty, and innovation.

My time allotment is something that also allows me to stand out amongst my peers. I am a nocturnal individual, frequently playing on the server when very little CL4s & Ambassadors in general are online. There are times when people during those times may need someone to look up to for direction, or something as simple as a training. With an Internal Affairs Ambassador position, I'd like to take my abilities in helping everyone even further by handing out exams, opening the breach shelter (without requiring a level 3), or even ensuring that all Jr. CL4s are following the COE/Codex.

How many documents have you written? What makes a document good?: Recently I've written around 5 or 6 arrest reports in the past few days. However, in total, I've written countless documents including arrest reports, and even investigation reports when I was in Virtuous. What makes a document good is it's flow (Can you easily find what you're looking for), the format which goes hand in hand with flow, grammar, and detail. You want to be sure that someone can pick up your document and understand exactly what happened in the event you're reporting on and can also find exactly what they need in the report if they need to go specifically to that point.

What are the responsibilities of the Internal Affairs Ambassador in RP?: The responsibilities for Ambassadors in RP include...
  • Reviewing and grading arrest reports and investigation reports (when applicable).
  • Closing bulks during the necessary times (such as if SCP-682 is charging towards EZ).
  • Guiding the direction of agents and making suggestions to help guide the department.
  • Discipline of agents whether it be verbal warnings, job bans, or blacklists.
  • Upholding the legal codex and code of ethics against all personnel up to Junior CL4 (with exceptions for ISD, Ambassadors, etc.).
  • Assisting the facility with following proper evacuation efforts.
  • Rewarding Agents for manning the airlock during breaches.
  • Assigning agents to duties when work is slow such as patrols, posting at certain locations, etc.
  • Ensuring all agents know of the Internal Affairs codewords.
  • Handing out IA tests and mentoring new agents.
Please give some lore about your Internal Affairs Ambassador character and what storylines they would be involved in:

// Lore is from previous application and continued //
1995:
James Kato was born on July 2nd, 1995 in the city of Bethesda, Maryland. While growing up, James took a strong interest in criminal justice. His favorite shows including Law & Order, as well as NCIS. He was always described as someone who had a creative vision for everything, and a strong desire to be someone bigger than himself.

2013: James graduates Bethesda High School as class Valedictorian. He then attends the US Service Academy at West Point under a full scholarship for Criminal Justice. During his time there, he got the opportunity to shadow the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, a privilege he obtained by winning an essay contest.

2017: James graduates West Point and is commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army JAG Corps. The JAG Corps is the "law firm" of the United States Army and focuses on representing army officials in courtroom settings, as well as providing legal advice to senior army officials. James's career in the beginning was extremely slow, but was just about to ramp up.

2022: During James's short time in the JAG corps, he took on an unsuspecting case. Brigadier General Musgrove was being tried with murder after an email sent to the Chinese Army's Chief of Staff was found to be the cause of his death. Much of the information was sealed, but since James was on the defense, he was privy to it. It was found that SCP-7528, prior to its containment, hopped into a PDF file of policies the US Army was establishing to increase relations with the People's Liberation Army of China. It is unknown how SCP-7528 went into the file, but it must've been after James uploaded it as an attachment.

James was approached by Mobile Task Force Kappa-10 ("Skynet") and Mobile Task Force Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") where he was offered a position in the Foundation's Internal Affairs Department, so long as he completes his JAG assignment and assists with the anomaly investigation. Both Mobile Task Forces were quite impressed that James was not only able to unveil a false narrative against a high ranking Army official, but uncover an anomaly at that. James had significant trouble sleeping after finding out about the anomaly, and the fact that he was now under the watchful eye of two Mobile Task Forces. One word, and he's done for. Why didn't they just use amnestics on him? They saw the value. Later on, James uncovered that he downloaded a mandated update from a person in his IT department prior to sending the email and relayed such information to both Mobile Task Forces. His JAG case was complete. MTF Iota-10 assisted James with clearing the Brigadier General's name, and James was brought to an undisclosed location where his new career started. During his orientation, he was instructed to drink a rather weird smelling concoction and he forgot all about Kappa-10 and Iota-10, as well as SCP-7528 - but he did not forget about how he won the JAG case - as fuzzy as that is, and won an employment contract with this new place called the SCP Foundation.

2023 (NEW): James eventually got Ambassador - but it quickly wore out. Day in and day out. The constant pleading to not be arrested. The constant tomfoolery that the Code of Ethics clearly goes against. The constant blatant disregard for human life. It got to him. He visited the medical bay several times a week, venting and letting out anger at the Medical Department's psychiatrists. Previous to this, he learned that one of his friends in the Foundation had passed. Unfortunately for him, grieving isn't really an option in this facility. There's bigger tasks at hand, but he simply couldn't take it. The constant work stress, and the loss of his friend made him almost lose it. Eventually, he decided to reconsider his position and step down to slow life down a bit and not worry about the little things. He was able to continue going to see the psychiatrists to deal with his loss, and eventually, got motivated to start going again. As James likes to say, "When you go down the only thing you can do is get right back up!".
