Ethics Assistant, SCP-096, SCP-22415
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: Yes, they are from 2022 however

What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying to be an Ethics Committee Member. I have been working as an ECA during this past month with the mindset of going for ECM due to my enjoyment of being a public figure. Whether is be me from 3+ years ago or me now, I've always enjoyed being a more public figure so that I can focus on more public LARP rather than LARP in the shadows. With this role, I'd also be able to do much more than I can now, so that I would finally be able to stop saying, "Let me contact my ECM for confirmation/approval, and I'll get back to you." The amount of doors this would open to me would allow me to help much more people on the site without the need to wait hours/days, which just halts progress.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I believe I am the best candidate for the Ethics Committee for a few reasons. I have a vast amount of prior experience on the server, one of those experiences being on the committee. With those prior experiences, I am very aware of what is needed from someone in a position like this. When it comes to modern experience, I have been an ECA for ~1 month and have done plenty of work on said role during that time. One of the departments I've interacted with and aided the most has been RSD, which has allowed them to test and experiment at a much faster rate. With my prior experience and my more modern experience as well as my current relationship with the committee and other departments, I believe I am the best candidate. Even if I don't get accepted, I will still be providing my full support to the site and try again next time!
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
Handling processes with the COE, whether it be updating or maintaining.
Calling a code black when SCP breaches are getting too bad, this can also lead to authorizing a nuke.
Calling in ERT once AA protocols have been authorized, with no results.
Approving/denying tests, projects, proposals, etc that they get informed about.
Organizing investigations with ISD and O1 for different departments/site staff regarding behavior
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
Voting on roles such as ECA, ISD Director, and O1 Commander.
Working with department leads to update/change policies that are needed.
Discussing and reviewing appeals.
Creating RP for departments around the site.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Richard Daniels spent his life living normally in a small town on the outskirts of Saskatchewan Canada. He spent his days working part time at a well known grocery store saving money while attending a local university to pursue a career in politics. Richard watched his ‘Ps and Qs’ going so far as to even return a pen he forgot because in his heart he believed it to be stealing.
Richard was well known within his town for good deeds, and well mannered attitude. On weekends when he had free time Richard would volunteer at food drives and soup kitchens, always trying to give back to the community any way he could. However, many people knew of Richard`s financial situation. He would nearly starve himself and call it “Fasting” or go weeks without power in his 1 bedroom apartment because he could not afford to pay his electric bill. Through it all Richard remained a kindred soul.
‘July 21st 2012’
Richard spent his Saturday traveling to Edmonton, Canada. A major food, and blood drive was being hosted there, he wanted to attend badly. However, with no money or car Richard was forced to hitch hike. Along the way, he met strangers to whom he shared his stories and values. Everybody he met called him ‘Over Righteous’, telling him to focus on his own future and well-being before lending a hand to others.
‘July 23rd 2012’
Richard returned to Saskatchewan, satisfied with the donations and hard work he put in to help the less fortunate. However, upon his arrival back home he was stopped by multiple police, and swat cars calling his name and demanding his arrest. Richard, shocked and confused, complied with officer demands and allowed them to take him into custody.
Being locked in a small, damp cell. Richard began to wonder what happened that caused him to be in this situation. Rummaging his mind he drew a blank.
‘Richard`s inner thoughts’
I've helped old ladies cross the street, attended soup kitchens and blood drives. I've donated my time, money, and body to helping others, even if it meant hurting myself in the process.
‘4 Hours after being arrested’
Richard was dragged from his holding cell, being treated like scum of the earth by the officers. While being led to an interrogation room, Richard sheepishly asked ‘Why am I here, I've done no evil?’. Only to receive silence, and a sharp frown from the officer.

‘July 25th 2012’
Richard spent 2 days locked alone in a cell before being transported to court, he still did not know why he was there. From what he could gather, he was being treated as if he committed treason against the Canadian government, going far enough to even , and starve him like he was a worthless burden to society.
While Richard sat in the court room holding cell awaiting his trial he tried his best to steady his fear and make himself look presentable.

Judge Spint: Richard Daniels, On July 21st, you volunteered your time at the “Saskatchewan people in need” food drive correct?
Richard: Yes, your honor. I try to donate my time every weekend
Judge Spint: Then, after “Donating” your time, where were you?
Richard: I traveled to Edmonton, Canada sir. They hosted an annual blood drive, and food bank. I wanted to devote my time to helping with such a big event.
Judge Spint: We have testimony and evidence of you on July 21st putting an unknown ingredient in the Chili that was being served to the people in need. This ingredient, after ingesting, caused multiple people to pass away from cardiac arrest within mere hours.
Richard: Ingredients? Sir, I only served the food. I had no hand in preparing or gathering the proper materials to make it. This must be a mistake
Judge Spint: Could the witness please step up and play the tape..
“Witness puts tape in recorder as the jury, and Richard watch the forged evidence of him ‘Poisoning the chili”
Richard: Your Honor, this tape is clearly forged. In that tape I am seen to wear a blue baseball cap, however, on that day I wore only a hairnet so as to not get hair in the chili.
Judge Spint: Enough from the defance, it's time to allow the jury to decide based on the evidence.
“For 3 hours the jury decided Richard`s fate, finally coming to a conclusion”
Judge Spint: Jury, how do you testify?
‘In unison” Jury: Guilty.
Judge Spint: Richard Daniels, Under the accusation of mass murder.. You are hereby found guilty, and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Richard spent 18 months in Millhaven Institution, Ontario, a maximum security prison hosting the worst criminals through Canada. The time he spent there was absolute horror, from gang violence to mentally insane prisoners Richard felt lost, scared, and alone.
‘2 years after being sent to Millhaven Institution”
PA System: Prisoner number 6548 please prepare for cell extraction ETA: 5 minutes
Richard awoke to the loud grumbling of the PA system instructing him to move away from the doors and prepare to be restrained, he naturally complied. Part of the restraint procedure required Richard to cover his head with a heavy cloth sack to prevent any ideas to escape by seeing the interior of the prison. As Richard was escorted to an unknown place, he heard two guards whispering to each other
Guard 1: This is the third one they have taken this week..
Guard 2: I don't know what they need the prisoners for, but I'm sure it's better than anything that is offered here in this hell-hole.
Guard 1: I don't know man, at least you know what you get here. A small room, and 1 meal a day..
Guard 3: Shut up and be quiet.
Guard 1-2: Yes, sir.
As Richard was guided into the room, he was chained to the floor and table before the sack was removed from his head. He was greeted by 2 well dressed individuals being guarded by 2 over-prepared military men. The 2 important looking men introduced themselves as ‘Wardens’ for a secret prison that allowed people who received life in prison, or death sentences to earn their freedom by doing various tasks for them.
These 2 men spent hours talking to Richard, seemingly feeling sorry for him and weeping from the stories of his poor past. Richard felt at home with them, almost as if they felt similar pain. Eventually they gave him a hard offer.
Spend 30 days in our facility doing daily tasks that support Canada, and receive your freedom
That sentence loomed over Richard's head, an opportunity he never thought he would get again. Without second thought Richard immediately accepted the offer and began the process of transferring his belongings

Richard arrived on site at 0300, excited and ready to give it his all for the chance to see the outside world. He was given a bigger cell to live in, a communal area to talk to other people, and 3 meals a day. These little things seem basic to others, but to him it meant the world. Every new day felt closer and closer to the freedom he should have never lost.
After spending 2 weeks within the facility, Richard learned from his fellow prisoners and the guards that worked there. They showed him his ranking ‘Karma’ within the prison and how to increase that to earn more freedoms and rights.
‘3 months in the facility’
Richard, after spending 3 months in the facility and experiencing the “Tests” given to his fellow prisoners, realized the lies in the words spoken to him before coming here. He notably thanked his luck for surviving this long and slowly earning the rank of TRUSTEE which allowed him to intern in certain departments. His first chance at an internship was initiated by someone who called themselves a ██████ assistant.
This assistant guided Richard throughout the facility, slowly guiding him and giving him the chance to instead join the facility as a member of staff leaving the prisoner life completely. Richard knew the only way to protect himself from an inevitable death was to comply with this assistant However, along the way he noticed this assistant did not care about any low ranking jobs within the foundation. Richard noticed murder, torture, kidnapping, and threats being send to anybody that crossed paths with this assistant and the people who gave him orders.
‘8 months after becoming an ‘Assistant Intern’
Richard began to understand how the facility was run, there were 2 groups at the top of the food chain that handled all of the working areas within the facility. He was able to speak to the people who called themself ‘Ethics’, and began to realize that his mentality and demeanor more match the ethical side of the foundation. Slowly Richard began to break away from the ██████ Assistant, believing that this Assistant was evil, throwing lives away as if they were unburned kernels of popcorn.
Richard spent months in secret speaking to multiple members of ethics trying to persuade them and others to speak to ██████ and correct his wrongful ways. However, Richard realized that with his TRUSTEE rank meant nothing, he was a lowly prisoner that could be killed at any moment for just looking at someone wrong. So he decided to make a change, and began to plead with members throughout the site promising to do anything to free himself from the shackles of being a prisoner. Until he was approached by someone who called themselves “The ██████ Of Ethics”

Richard followed the group as they went into what was called the ‘Core sector’ to speak about his future within the foundation.
Ethics ██████: I'm sure you are anxious, please take a seat, and let's talk.
Richard: Thank you sir, I'm feeling a bit out of place talking to a man such as yourself.
Ethics ██████: Please don't be, you and I have a similar agenda from what I hear
Richard: I'm not sure I follow sir.
Ethics ██████: For these past 8 months your eyes have been opened to the atrocities committed by some members of staff. My men hide within the shadows - watching everything that happens on this site, including you. They have seen you beg and plead, even offering appendages if it meant sparing someone who did not deserve to die.
Richard: My whole life, I've believed that everybody has rights. Even a prisoner like me… To see people like that kill without even blinking.. It.. its.. Horrible
Ethics ██████: I completely agree with you, However you understand that in your current position you are powerless. Hell, you wouldn't even be able to offer your own life at this stage.
Richard: A lowly prisoner like me has no value here, and I completely understand that. However, I can't just step back and let this happen. Please sir, I know you're capable of stopping this… so.. Please
Ethics ██████: That may be so but, I cant do this on my own. I need people like you who follow my values. Listen kid, there is a new position that has opened recently. It won't give you the power to change the world. But, with enough determination and effort… It might be enough for you to change this place
Richard: If I could change.. even just a fraction of the evil that's been committed - it would have been worth it. Whatever I have to do, I will sir.
Ethics ██████: That's exactly what I want to hear.. From now on your new title will be ‘Ethics Assistant’ Richard Daniels

During the time Richard spent working as an Ethics Assistant, he had to deal with many hardships. With his new status and no longer being a D-Class, Richard became very familiar and friendly with RSD and GSD. Through these relationships, he helped both sides with problems regarding ethics and daily concerns. One day, Richard was informed that members of RSD were being manipulated and threatened by an unknown group that resided in his own foundation. This group, with their threats, made RSD paranoid and scared to speak with the Ethics Committee; once Richard heard about this, he started investigating this unknown group to try and bring them to light. Even as a CL4, facing this group was tough; they hid well and used members of the foundation to try to keep him silenced and in the dark. Richard hit a roadblock; he had theories of where this unknown group could be, but just didn't have the information or power to search freely. When Richard brought up his investigation to the committee, they were shocked and appalled that this was happening right under their noses. The committee gave Richard permmission to keep investigating while ensuring him that they will be working in the background to get to the bottom of this investigation. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this investigation, Richard had to relinquish the investigation to his superiors because this unknown group had people protecting them that exceeded Richard Jr.'s CL4 access, making it nearly impossible for him to continue on his own.
Feeling powerless while still striving to finish what Richard started. He appeared before the Ethics Committee Chairman and pleaded to remain on the case, as this is something he started and something he wants to finish. The Ethics Chairman let out a big sigh, sat down, and began speaking to Richard as if they were equals.
Ethics Chairman ██████: So... why do you feel so connected to this investigation?
Richard: When I first arrived at this site, I was just a D-Class with no hope of making it to the end of my 30 days.
"Slight pause"
Richard: When I became a trusted D-Class, I finally started to feel hope once again, that maybe... just maybe things could be better.
Ethics Chairman ██████: What does a D-Class have to do with this investigation?
Richard: All of the horrible things I've witnessed as a D-Class made me strive to do whatever was needed to correct them. I spent years working my hardest to earn the title of Ethics Assistant and now... I'm just as powerless as when I was a D-Class.
Ethics Chairman ██████: All you seek in this foundation power? Power earns you a fancy title and an early grave; it is not something to strive for. What you really need is the will to do what needs to be done without worry of the consequences. If you lose the will to do what needs to be done just because of how much power you have, maybe you aren't cut out for this.
Richard: Power is what I seek; however, I don't seek power for the hell of it. I understand that without power, you can't make meaningful change in this foundation, hell, in the entire world. Power can be used for the good of the people; this unknown group is using power to cause pain and suffering, and I am now being forced to just sit and watch as the people of this foundation that I care for are being used like this!
"Long silence"
Ethics Chairman ██████: I like your honesty. I don't fully agree with the want of power, but we do like to have people with different viewpoints in our ranks. I do agree that this unknown group is a bit problem, and to get rid of the person who has spent the most time in this investigation would be foolish.
Richard: So... are you saying that I can continue my work with this investigation?!
Ethics Chairman ██████: I am, however, not letting you go back to this investigation with that CL4 card. I believe that you are in need of an... upgrade. I believe that this investigation will serve as a good test of will to truly show me that you are up to the task of having this. *Puts their own CL5 keycard on the table*
Ethics Chairman ██████: I am giving you the offer to join us as a fully-fledged Ethics Committee Member. You will be given a CL5 keycard, which you will use to finally put an end to this investigation. Once that is finished, you can finally interact with the members of this site without having a feeling of unease and work with them to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
Richard: Thank you. I will not let you or anyone on this site regret their belief in me.
Ethics Chairman ██████: Welcome, Ethics Committee Member Richard Daniels
Ethics Chairman ██████: So... why do you feel so connected to this investigation?
Richard: When I first arrived at this site, I was just a D-Class with no hope of making it to the end of my 30 days.
