Since then, I’ve improved my behavior, understanding of server rules, and overall professionalism. I believe my recent activity reflects this improvement, and I am confident that those past mistakes no longer represent how I play or conduct myself.

Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?

I am applying for the chief of security position because I want to step into a major role to make the general security department a much more enjoyable and professional department to play as a whole. I have served and learned for a long time and I want to use this experience to shape GSD into a department it can be proud of and players can enjoy being a part of. I believe applying and getting the role of chief of security would allow me to have greater opportunity to accomplish my aforementioned goal.

What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:

While I may not have had a senior clearance level 4 position for long (got major Saturday), I have known how to be a leader for a long time. I have demonstrated leadership not only in the general security department as a Captain since March (I believe) but also in the medical department where I was a consultant. In addition my leadership of the new regiment EPU is also note-worthy as our team managed to build it all from scratch into a (in my opinion) a successful subregiment. This all allowed me to become a better leader by not only improving my skills such as listening to others and making important decisions but also as an RP leader. My CL4 roles have allowed me to create better RP not only for myself and for others. I also believe I would be a prime candidate for the position because of the way I carry myself and for my care for the department. I am known to be direct but also casual and funny at times. I like that I am mix of these attributes because I believe a Senior CL4 needs to be someone who can not only act professional at all times but also bring good times to the department they manage, because in the end you are trying to get people to enjoy their time in your department while also RP’ing in it. I also think my ability to direct others and help others is another important attribute that makes me a prime candidate. Everybody makes mistakes and sometimes I want to be stern with people but I understand that people are new and sometimes are unintentional in their behavior so I try to guide them to correct their behaviors so not only do they RP better but they also pass on this information sort of like a chain effect. I think my ability to own up and take responsibility for mistakes and learn from them also makes me suitable for the role. I do not know everything and as such I will make a mistake. But I take this more as a learning opportunity rather than a failure. I am a sponge. I love to take in information. I always want to correct my mistakes so I refrain from doing them in the future.

What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:

The Chief of Security has a variety of responsibilities. First and foremost they are the ultimate authority within the general security department meaning that by following the chain of command issues that cannot or may not be resolved by captains are handed to them. They are also the first representatives of the general security department, they act as bridges for inter-departmental relations. They also have oversight of the entire department as a whole ranging through operations, protocol, professionalism, and handbook changes. The Chief of Security also has a responsibility to keep their department engaged by offering RP to new and seasoned players of their department through engaging events/orders/training/etc. They have a responsibility to regulate subregiments and leadership as a whole through meetings and orders (etc). They also need to keep close watch on policy in the handbooks to make sure everything is up to date. They also have the power to offer changes to said handbook. They also need to be one of the most professional people of their department because they represent the entirety of the general security department.

Please give some lore about your Chief of Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:

At the age of 8, Roman lost his parents, a burglary gone wrong, nonetheless Roman learned that time was truly a precious thing from a young age. He took this lesson and applied it to his military training at ████ ███████ with specification in time response and protocol leadership. He passed the top of his class. His exceptional marksmanship, leadership, and personality got him recruited to the SCP Foundation. From there Roman went on to make a name for himself climbing the ranks as a direct and almost robotic person who executed orders by any means necessary. He was a perfectionist. Time was precious and he had none to waste. That all changed when Roman met a Cadet named Hugo. At the time Roman was a Captain making a name for himself among his peers but this cadet had something about him. He was different, and so Roman took a liking to him, took him under his wing. He trained and nurtured Hugo into an officer. On the night of ███████████ Roman ordered Hugo to carry out a routine inspection of a containment chamber for any irregularities. Originally tech experts would do it but Roman did not trust people easily. Roman sent Hugo, and as Hugo was checking a catastrophic containment breach. Hugo did not survive, the price of perfection took the life of someone who was close to Roman. From that day on Roman ditched his perfectionist ways, he was no longer blinded by grief and order in turn he was inspired to hope and teach by tragedy. He vowed to honor Hugo by helping everyone even if it meant to go out of his way.

Months later, Roman became Chief and he began implementing his vow. He began personally training cadets, guards and officers. To Roman the chief was not some high power figure you could not talk to, he was a guide, a mentor. He taught people to follow orders and respect the chain of authority but always reminded people to follow their heart and not to be blinded by order. Roman created the General Security Protocol Guide, an in-depth guide on protocol that was more detailed and included video presentations. He also began implementing a policy of questioning. He encouraged members to bring him complaints and ideas to improve the department as a whole. He knew he did not have it all figured out but maybe someone else did. He used his opinion and power to incorporate the ideas of others to improve the department on a scale ranging from professionalism, protocol management, personality, and overall image. Roman was not a hero. His time as chief can be summarized by one word; reform. Reform of policies to allow people to their jobs safer and more effectively. These changes allowed the General Security Department not only to improve and stand out but also become a department where others such as the Medical Department and ISD wished to do joint-ops such as on field trauma assessments and internal corruption investigations.

I think you are an amazing captain (ignoring major for obvious reasons IE the role being 5 days old)
And while I believe you posses the leadership qualities to become chief, I will not lie I have heard and seen horror stories about EPU.

As his previous coworker and also director, I can safely say I've observed a multitude of good qualities demonstrated that are befit the Chief of Security. He shows drive, initiative, discipline, and a strong desire for a healthy RP environment. I believe Roman would make an excellent chief. Also, bro's got a heck of an arm when it comes to throwing bottles.

Roman is in my opinion the best choice out of current candidates.

He was a long standing senior captain before his promotion to major. During his time he has been active in all sub regiments he is a part of, making and executing trainings, leading EPU (I haven't heard the horror stories) and being gensecs recruitment officer.

He has shown dedication, maturity and is active despite holding multiple roles.

I have seen you around the past few months sparsely, but I know that it is a really fucking difficult task to run your own sub-regiment and succeed (trust me, I tried 3 times). To be completely honest, 4 years of experience has taught me that having a good leader does not necessarily mean having one that is active every day, all hours of the day; I have seen chiefs and other leaders be promoted just for that in the years past, and it usually is not very good long-term departmentally.

You seem to be a good logistical and tactical leader, as I have seen. But some of the qualities you noted about yourself come off as self-described and are really up to the people who know you to say (even if I agree with them).

. I do not know everything and as such I will make a mistake. But I take this more as a learning opportunity rather than a failure. I am a sponge.
Everybody treats forum applications like it's some spotless drill SGT inspection of every bit of your character, with failure to meet every single expectation resulting in not passing; you, however, can ignore that and give insight into your gameplan and way of working around problems without clouding yourself with filler or ego. Noting that you will make a mistake is one of the most insightful ways you can show your leadership. I do not believe this should negate any other critique that me or other repliers might have, but one of the best, if not the best, ways to describe your qualification I have seen on an app.

Despite Trap Jesus being my undisputed goat of Gensec, I would very much like to see you have a shot at Chief if given the position. We could use some new blood in the department anyhow. If you can show no fear to hundreds of beady eyes looking upon your application where you show your true self, you can be the leader of any damn department on-site.
