-I have received none
Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
- I am applying for the Medical Consultant position because I am deeply passionate about the medical bay and everyone I've had the chance to work alongside. I've been playing as a senior doctor for about a month now and have fallen in love with the medical side of the role play this server has to offer and would love to take it to the next level. I think I'd be a great fit for a leadership role for this department as I want to see the department grow and would love to have a hands-on approach to achieving this. I feel like I would love to experience more role-play and more scenarios that I could only get by going higher within medical, so for me this feels like the most logical next step!
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
-I have a great deal of patience
-I love training new medical staff
-I'm always on late at night when there is a lack of higher-up medical staff and could fill that void.
-I have a good amount of time to dedicate to this position
-I have comprehensive knowledge of the in game medical practices
-I have never gotten in trouble on any job and take my role in the medical bay very seriously. (I have written a 5-page document on why I should've been allowed to put a vacuum into 914 and got it approved instead of just doing it for example)
-I am more than willing to learn, take criticism, and ask questions if I don't understand something
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
-Foundation Staff Psych Evaluations-
-This is one of my favorite things to do within medical role play, to be honest.
So to start, you have the patient follow you into the consulting room where you then have them take a seat across from you. If the patient is of risk to themselves or others, you may need an armed guard to be in the room with you. You begin the evaluation by asking them very basic questions such as "how has your mood been today?", "Do you feel overworked", etc. to gauge the temperament of the patient. Then we go into deeper questions, checking to see if the patient has been exposed to any traumas that might have led them to being seen. If they have traumas, we will then try to figure out if it affects them within their daily life at the foundation and if they are suffering from any panic attacks. Then we would move into a simple question part where, on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being never and 5 being almost always, we ask them 9 basic questions to get a gauge on where they are sitting on issues such as depression and stress. At the end of these questions, we then would review the evaluation, take down any notes that didn't have a place within the evaluation, then on our own or within a group, we would discuss what would be the plan moving forward, this may include giving them a mood stabilizer, such as 50ml of quetiapine, if they are of a risk to themselves or others after the evaluation they may be escorted to the padded room where they are put while we work on an action plan to get them back to their best self, or sometimes the only thing the patient would need is someone to talk to and a friend. After the patient is treated and has left med bay I then will write my summary for the evaluation and then have it filed for any future reference. As I had stated, this is by far my favorite role play to take part in, so far as it's always lead to new and interesting scenarios.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
-Being an excellent role model for medical personnel
-Performing administrative tasks such as filing paperwork
-Overseeing any routine or special operations that may be taking place in the medical bay
-Giving medical license test
-Training jr. medical staff
-Any responsibilities already had while being in the senior doctor role
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Sammy Peppers is an easy-going and goofy (in a good way) senior doctor. You will almost always find her standing around the medical bay with her arms crossed, ready to help you with anything from a quick patch up to a psych eval.
Sammy was once a foundation chef who, after many months grew tired of the life in the D-block kitchen and wanted more for her life. She ran into an old friend who had became a doctor and decided this was the path for her. She became a medical trainee and within an hour and a half she had walked into a medical license test and decided to take it for fun, and to her surprise she had passed! She quickly became a senior doctor as life in the medical bay had become to feel like home and the rest was history.
Sammy has now hit a wall within her career and feels the only next logical step would be to become a medical consultant where she can train and pass on her medical knowledge to the next gen wave of doctors.
Thank you all so much for your time reading this, and thank you for considering me for the position! Take care!
