Why are you applying for Director of Research?
Respectfully, having multiple candidates for consideration is crucial in ensuring everyone on the server can choose a leader they believe in. I may not have been here a very long time on Civil Networks; however, I am just as passionate about Research as anyone else applying for the position. If selected, I would continue to foster the connections I am making with new researchers every day and foster the growth of the Research Department. I will continue to reform and enact policies and bounties that promote internal and inter-departmental collaboration with Research. I also seek the opportunity to lead, but also to listen and implement the feedback of my fellow players to improve our ever-growing department and expand the overall experience of the Research Department. I also seek to foster a collaborative testing environment where researchers and role-players of all sizes can come and enjoy what our department offers.
Some of the items I wish to see implemented if I am selected include:
- The continuation of the "Research Bounty Program" increases the prize pool as well as offers other unique rewards for completion, such as "Researcher of the Month," and monetary rewards, such as V-Points (my funds)
- To improve cooperation and give players a chance to make history by serving in a lore capacity, create more role-play-oriented projects that involve the collaboration of multiple researchers and are overseen by a senior or executive researcher.
- Tasking researchers with creating new chemicals that other departments need to stimulate economic growth will improve the usefulness of research in the player-driven economy.
- We will continue establishing and growing our sub-regiments, such as the Board of Education or the Chemical Research Board, by updating policies and incentives to encourage players to join.
- Establish a continued rewards program that recognizes members of the Research Department for several qualities. Offer official awards and titles that they can wear as badges of honor.
- Implement a better feedback system for Researchers and tell leadership what we can improve.
I admit that I have not been here for as long as some of the other candidates you may consider. However, I believe I have qualities that merit at least a consideration for the position. In my life, I have been a State Officer overseeing hundreds of members, and I was directly responsible for fostering their growth and guiding them toward success. This has given me excellent leadership skills whereby I can effectively communicate, strategically plan, and build strong teams to complete assigned tasks. Through this work, I have cultivated my ability to draft comprehensive and impactful proposals, an essential skill for a Department Head. Whether it be creating innovative programming, adjusting departmental procedures, or ensuring collaboration, I am confident that I can contribute something meaningful to the Research Department and, to that extent, Civil Networks as a whole. While I may have a silly side that encourages everyone to take a break and relax, I can also be highly professional when needed. This duality allows me to be an effective leader by relating to those I lead, allowing them to feel comfortable approaching me and being the strict advisor when making challenging judgment calls. Another excellent reason for my consideration is that I am always accessible at any time and place when someone needs me. Since I do not currently hold any other JR CL4 positions, most of my time will be dedicated solely to the Research Department, allowing for a Director who will always be there when you need him.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:
A Director must perform all the duties of an Executive Researcher, such as Grading Documents, Participating in Lectures, Approval Processes, etc. However, they must also do the following;
- The Director of Research is a critical position within the Foundation. As the person overseeing the Research Department, which provides the containment procedures, descriptions, and tests of anomalies, the director must be a wise and knowledgeable counsel to all researchers.
- The Director must oversee all ongoing Research Operations and approve Research Proposals to ensure alignment with the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
- The Director must take responsibility for those under his command and ensure that all policies are being adhered to for not only their safety but also the Foundation as a whole.
- The Director must also be a teacher to those less knowledgeable and an ever-growing student to provide better advice and counsel to those who seek it.
- The Director must also be good at conflict resolution to ensure peace amongst its own leadership and inter-departmental peace, ensuring that everyone's grievances are corrected.
- The Director must ensure collaboration and innovation in the Research Department so that we may continue to innovate and expand, keeping humanity safe.
- The Director must ensure that groups receive proper budgeting for their operations and issue new challenges for continued research.
- The Director must be the first defense against the unknown by ensuring we gain new information while maintaining a veil of secrecy and personnel safety.
- The Director must constantly communicate with Site Command and Administration to ensure smooth operations and address concerns.
- The Director must appoint and interview those who have shown immense loyalty to the Foundation, outstanding leadership, and other qualities into positions to continue research leadership effectively.
- A Director must know when to vacate their positions to foster continued growth and when they can not clearly and effectively lead, allowing a smooth transition of power.

Thus, for the safety of personnel and the privacy of Doctor Kraut, most information regarding him has been expunged to keep his true identity a secret. Doctor Kraut will always be seen in a red overcoat and wearing gloves to cover the disfigurement thaumaturgy had on his body; he is also in possession of a book which has been classified as SCP-882913 or "The Grimoire of Thaumaturgy." SCP-882913 should not be interacted with under any circumstances due to the unnatural ability to cause a reality-bending event; also, attempts to remove SCP-882913 have proven unsuccessful without causing harm to Doctor Kraut. As a Senior Researcher, he assisted Doctor Scranton in developing Reality Stabilizing technology to combat the continued threat of reality benders. He also founded Project {REDACTED} and Project {REDACTED} during his time at Site-19. He has been transferred into an Executive Researcher position at Site-65 to oversee the division of thaumaturgy.
