Why are you applying for the Director of Medicine?
Contribute to the growth and stability of Medical: With the assistance of our previous Medical Director, current Medical Director, and assistants from Site Admin like Steven Preisler who've all done an incredible job at building up Medical from its previous shortage. I wish to continue this focus on recruiting quality candidates for Consultants by encouraging talented individuals and guiding new members to pursue a medical career. Alongside that, the current harmony and stability of medical within medical is something to cherish and maintain as a welcoming working environment for medical.

Gain Senior CL4 Experience: A component of why I'm applying is to gain experience as a CL4. After having months of Junior CL4 experience as an Executive Researcher and Consultant. I feel I am ready to take on the task of senior medical leadership. I want to show my fellow peers that I've known since I got here and the superiors above me that I'm capable of taking on more responsibilities within Site-65. While I don't have plans of going beyond Director if I were to attain this position mostly due to how wonderful it is in medical, I still wish to have that experience under my belt if I decide to go for something further after close to a handful of months as Director.

Medical roleplay as my focus: With my previous point above I also wish to place a deeper focus on medical. At the current scale if put into perspective I'm on my consultant character 65% of the time while on Executive Researcher 35% of the time. While I still put in more than a handful of hours daily into the server after work or class IRL I will be taking on the duties of Director of Medicine as my primary duty. As I'll more than likely be stepping down from Executive and reapply a month later after I've gotten accustomed to the duties of DoM. The reason I'll do this is to show and commit to the responsibilities & role of the Director of Medicine as my priority.

What makes you suitable for Director of Medicine?

  • Activity: I'm on the server daily while active on the discord and team speak. Having a Director who is active daily is very beneficial both for the health of the department and the site as a reliable source of leadership and guidance.
  • CL 4 Experience: I have experience as a previous CL4 which serves well as a track record of being knowledgeable and efficient in more than one field that being research and medicine. This conveys being able to learn new things about other departments and becoming proficient within said fields as a fast & extensive learner.
  • Understanding the responsibilities: Responsibilities as I will be mentioning below are crucial for holding the position of a DoM. Understanding what you have to do both from seeing and figuring out their responsibilities key to being effective in your position. Of which if most if not all are listed below from what I've seen from Kowaru, Sammy, Maz, and Pawz from my time on this server.
  • Medical knowledge: While in lore my character is a psychologist and orthodontist I still have a general knowledge and understanding of medicine from my time in medical but also my experience gained in other GMOD realms.
  • Award: I've been the recipient of the Foundation Service Commendation Award by S.A Steven Preisler which was attributed to my "performance and commitment" which can relate to the tireless nights in addressing the needs of medical personnel whether it be hosting medical license and tryouts or handling disciplinary issue regardless of what time it is.
  • Social Skills: I have great public speaking, De-escalation, empathy, and social skills. Whenever in a leadership position these are all important for conveying and communicating with others, especially during critical moments.

-
What are the responsibilities of the Director of Medicine in RP?:
  • Overlooking Medical: Ensuring that discipline, growth, and recruitment are being held and increasing. While also answering and providing advice to consultants and medical staff.
  • Approving or Denying Consultant Applications: Having good observation skills, making judgment calls, and understanding people's character both in the game and also as a person is crucial in deciding with the other Director of Medicine on new Consultants to represent Medical Leadership.
  • Maintaining and Updating Documents: As far as I'm aware Medical is the only department that has a website but we have also recently received a variety of documents from both medical leadership and SA relating to being a consultant. It's crucial as a leader to maintain these documents and remain up to code with the policies and site while also conveying changes and training individuals on them.
  • Auth AA: As a Director but also as a CL4 we're the 5th group in the AA hierarchy when it comes to authing AA for CL3 personnel specifically MTF, SCU, etc. It's crucial to have good judgment while also having the Advanced Armory Handbook on hand when no other members of the hierarchy are on. The reason I mention this is I sometimes play late into the night so I've seen our Medical Director auth it when necessary.
  • Relaying and Assigning Projects: As a director, we're expected to create rp by assigning projects to the leads within Medical specializations but also having the personnel projects that we work on to showcase our competency but also our creativity.
  • Creating Roleplay: As a Senior CL4 but also a Director we're expected to create roleplay but also model(Show) others how to create roleplay such as helping Doctors do blood drives, psych evals, welfare checks, and so on.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the Medical Leadership team: A very vital part of being a director is ensuring that our consultants are being held to high standards and ensuring they stay out of trouble by advising them and giving them advice. In extreme cases and in conjunction with the fellow director strikes may need to be issued including removal after repeated strikes. It's important that any such individuals are taught the proper way to ensure they learn from their mistakes but also from each other.
  • Working with the fellow Director: Last but not least is working with the fellow Director of Medicine. I'm already great friends with the fellow Director as I help her throughout the night as a consultant but also as a friend outside of Garry's mod. This I find to be important because it brings a level of previous understanding to the table when working with someone with familiarity.

Please give some lore about your Director of Medicine character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Building on top of my already existing lore it will follow along with my character becoming the Director of Medicine and coming to realize the newfound responsibilities that his position has but also now the inner workings of the facility. They’ll come to understand how Senior CL4 are privy to knowledge that even they couldn’t have imagined. While I did mention that I will be stepping away from my ooc executive position with Will I’ll have him as a conduit of research knowledge to Wilhelmina via emails to ensure that in character most of my research knowledge an competency can be utilized by my character in a realistic since consider her background when I first joined Medical.

Wilhelmina sees an email pop up from her great friend Will San detailing redacted information, she looks around the room before inputting her CL4 card into they console located on the monitor as it processes her credentials. That feeling of pride and accomplishment never left her despite her time as a consultant as the thoughts of discovering an learning about matters within the foundation reserved for not only Jr CL4 but also Sr CL4 now that she’s a director

Dear Director W. Johnson,

I hope this email finds you well amidst the endless stream of Code 5’s and issues that I’ve come to learn and miss at Site-65. I am reaching out to you regarding a confidential project that may pique your interest, given our connection and experience together at Site-65.

We are currently in the drafting phases of a classified project, codenamed Stardust. While details cannot be shared on Script-net I do wish to send you a memorandum later today, I can share that it involves medical and research and given that we know each other quite well I feel there’s no better choice for a co-lead. While I’m no longer on Site-65 given me recent temporary transfer I do still wish for you to be a part of this and with the Consultant team that you are overseeing now. The team count at this moment is almost complete but I hope you choose 2 Consultants to work alongside you with this. Such an undertaking will set new standards relating to the containment of sentient SCPs across the Foundation if successful.

If you are interested in going forward with this project and if you have two consultants in mind in relation to joining Project Stardust, please respond at your earliest convenience, and I will arrange a secure briefing. This project is of a sensitive nature.

Thank you for considering this opportunity. I look forward to the possibility of working together on this venture.

Best regards,
Will ‘Weebe’ San
Level 4 Sr. Executive Researcher

As a new doctor, Weebe took the time to teach me how to make cures, and even helped me make them to ensure I could perform my duties and gave me a donation to ensure I could afford future chemicals. An absolute joy to work with, would love to see them in the director role.
