Visual Weapon Rendering Toggleable Positions

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Adds other positions on a playermodel where the users gun will render and what direction the gun is
(Example: Instead of the guns stock being over the left shoulder, a toggle will allow people to change it to be over the right shoulder)

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Change log just came out, doubt anyone put something out like this

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Allows people to choose where their gun is positioned
If people have Pac3 that has stuff on the back, it'd allow for people to move the rendered gun around, so that it doesn't clip with already existing back items, like bags or air tanks.
Some sort of visual difference, as I doubt 100% of people would keep their guns strapped to their back, some would have them strapped to the front.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Due to it being client sided, I am not 100% sure this could even be done

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
It isn't something that'll change the purpose of the weapon rendering, so you don't have to worry about people trying to hide their guns by moving it around.
It'll allow people who already have something on their back, either from the model itself, or pac3, to move the gun somewhere else, so that it isn't clipping into stuff.

I mean if the community feels as if this change ruins their immersion or the PAC3's they've spent time crafting. I think it should be considered to have some sort of way to choose where you want things to go? We appreciate the change for added immersion, RP, etc but it seems a lot of things haven't be thought through regarding this change despite it being in works for a while...

Wow what an utterly terrible mentality to have. Perhaps be constructive in feedback.

+support to the concept of the suggestion, but realistically to account for pac stuff there should just be a given range that people can edit the positioning in. Values aren’t necessarily correct but for example a range of +5 to -5 in x, y, z. And some rotational control. That’d probably solve issues of pac stuff while not allowing people to move their weapons far out of sight.


And tbh I wouldn’t have made this suggestion just yet myself as the change JUST happened, but thought I’d respond anyway since it was made

Jokes aside,

The implementation of this will be a pain, if we could make a system where players could modify it themselves, it would be amazing But players will abuse this system to the max hididng pistols/weapons in the model or send it to space, limiting x y z axis wouldnt prevent this.

This is far from true, we wanted to fully disable it for Pac3 users But this makes it so people will exploit the system and we cant enforce that in a fast and simple way.

Rotating the axis/position will mean things look even more ugly clipping mags etc. reason why it took 2 hours+ and it still looks shit in some areas and models.

For the pac3 users sure +support

But for the implementation and dev work/ positives you get from it its a big no for me
