Not really any fun in it, thats why people join CI, to murder their friends that are on foundation.Idk, citizen roles feel out of place and boring. Where's the fun in scavenging and shit?
I actually really like the setting, I never understood the dislike. Its dreary, it's cold, it's harsh, it's the perfect setting for an SCP game. Changing to daytime wouldn't affect any of the actual issues that keep surface from being playable.Surface combines the two worst environmental factors. Night-time, and Snow. You never see any other servers, or games combining these two factors as a primary design because its boring as fuck and has no way of being interesting.
Of course, they have denied any and all suggestions for a better surface setting since I joined 2 and a half years ago because of stubbornness or some other silly reason, I'm sure.
Honestly, if they just changed surface to a more interesting environment like an day-time urban setting or something, then that would also increase RP capabilities and make it a million times less boring than it currently is. It would also fix the issue of the ugly draw distance and fog.
Additionally it could also mean more jobs could be added if wanted, and more interesting GM events.
Yeah the setting is good from a lore and story perspective, but from a gameplay perspective, its the worst.I actually really like the setting, I never understood the dislike. Its dreary, it's cold, it's harsh, it's the perfect setting for an SCP game. Changing to daytime wouldn't affect any of the actual issues that keep surface from being playable.
I haven't heard anyone outright say it but I guarantee their reasoning is that 'most people RP within the foundation', and the cause of that is precisely because of them neglecting surface. If they actually put more effort into surface then I reckon a lot of people would move to surface RP more frequently, if only to get away from foundation RP for a bit.AFAIK, however, surface isn't being looked at any time soon in any real capacity, which is tragic.
