What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Fews things
1. More biohazard doors in key locations. Would block 008-2 instances from getting across the site, mainly LCZ - EZ, in record time.
2. E-11 biohazard unit getting override to said biohazard doors.
3. E-11 "Containment Specialist" getting the "infection scanner tool" - to check for 008 spores.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I have seen.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. Starting with the first one, the biohazard doors are CRUICAL in stopping 008 infections from getting everywhere, but seeing how the outbreaks usually start somewhere in medbay / D block, and not Delta. The doors aren't the MOST efficient. With only 6 bio door blasts on site (1 in EZ secondary route to lobby, 1 by 173, 2 in delta blocking off secondary, 1 right outside of 008 CC. And one in ECW.) I believe adding additional ones ,specifically in hotspots, can be crucial.(not stating the current ones don't work, they are amazing at what they can do, I just think another one or two being added in a crucial spot can easily make things more manageable)
(Took back my view on this, biodoors might be good short term, but long term give -2 instances more time to develop spores etc. Would likely make more the outbreak last longer in all honesty)

2. For a team with a maximum of 2 people. Who specializes in biohazards. I would argue it makes sense for them to be able to open biohazard doors - they can determine if a sector is cleared and / or clear the sector out themselves with decent back up, it would be very helpful in assisting the flow of recontainment and resecure sectors during an 008 breach. Keep in mind they cant close them, only open them.

3. Seeing that E-11 containment specialists, literally have all the tools to be a biohazard (quarantine placer, and foam) I see no reason why they cannot posses a tool needed to detect spores prior to them developing. They are also , as the name would imply, specialists in containment, i don't see why they couldn't have a tool to help prevent an outbreak of a containment breach. This wouldn't make it unbalanced as the units would still be missing a hazmat on spawn , and an infection testing kit for individuals. Allowing some level of balance.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Negative wise, All I could see, is other GOIs complaining that 008 breaches, could easily become containable and manageable within a short span of time.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
While someone might complain that this makes 008 breaches not as much of a threat, i would argue its fair. For the GOI that breached it, they technically got the victory by being able to pull it off to begin with, and these changes are in hopes to turn a breach from lasting an average range from 30+ minutes up to a couple hours - (resulting in a possible warhead and an RP reset) - to becoming manageable & containable within a fair amount of time. Allowing RP to continune without a constant instance popping up. I would also hope that if other GOIs see that 008 breaches go from unmanageable lasting a long time, to fairly manageable, that other GOIs will focus on more Roleplay than a silly SCP that can delay and halt roleplay entirely.

I figured the additonal bio doors would be the most frowned upon suggestion of the 3, but I do understand where you guys are going. Thank you for all that have written responses!

Just buff the biohazard doors honestly. Make them closable by normal standards but against server rules to close when there isnt an 008 breach.
The issue isn't that they need a buff, they are just non-existant in some key points across the site in which an 008 breach could easily get slowed. I wouldn't know the best spots to put one, but in all honestly one in the D block airlock area would actually be nice as it separates D class from constantly getting infected. The doors themselves are strong, they take several minutes to break (unless regular scps breach), and its the only "bulk door" in a way that 008-2s can break.

If D-class is infected and the door isnt broken then 008-2 is stuck anyway right? None of the doors directly connecting D-block to other areas are breakable by 008-2 and the watchtower and vents doors are unbreakable in the first place

D class can open the bulks.... a biohazard door would at least seperate the instance from the bulk into D block airlock for example. When 008 hits D block its basically game over - constant spores in D class spawn (which you could staff for assuming they're free). But usually when D block falls, the rest of site up from Delta up to PW loop is gonna fall in a manner of minutes

Ah I see,

I do think 008 breaches in D-block need a rework anyway. As D-class its also not fun if it gets infected there. They close all doors so you just get infected constantly in spawn, if they dont close it you still can't do anything like escape, fight back or anything. 008 as a whole actually needs some reworks and tweaks

-support
Its will be counter productive and will more likely cause people to become -2 as they may end up getting blocked by a bulk because 008 got under its radius.
blud only responded to ONE of the 3 suggestions. And ... no? the whole point of bio doors are to deny access to areas for -2 instances. it allows a build up of forces on the other side, to get prepared to fight , retaking a zone.

Edit - thank you for updating your comment. Honestly im not a BIG fan on addition to the bulks as well, as i do think there could be a couple good spots for them, they'd be in really awkward places so. Though, Im still standing on the other 2 points.

1. My bad for not supporting the two suggestions. I did not see them and corrected it

2. The moment the 008-2 spawn in, if it's close enough to the door, it will automatically close the bulk and can end up hoeing noncombatants, and then one -2 finds them, and now you have more 008

3. Having more bulks in crucial places can help you short term; however long termly it becomes more of a burden to have it close because as "you are all preparing," you are giving -2 something that you would never want to give your enemy at there weakest point Time to prepare, It only takes one zombie to ambush, and if lucky infect two others then your plan on retaking the facility will be over or they can be infested deeper in the facility gaining more spawn points. If they manage to infest train vents, then it's already pointless to contain the facility.

that is true, im probably actually just gonna take back the whole "adding more biodoors" now that i think about it, thank you for the feedback!
