What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion will add a grenade launcher that does good damage to SCPs, but negligible damage to humans. Whether it's as part of an existing E-11 job or a new E-11 job I'll leave to be decided by Content Team.

The rate of fire would be the same / similar as the CI Grenadier as to not do excessive damage in 1 go to an SCP. Further monitoring I think would be beneficial too as to ensure it doesn't make E-11 too fast at recontaining breaches.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
There has been uh, quite a lot of discussion about the CI Grenadier, but as the SCP damage mechanic is new there has been nothing like this I believe.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- New E-11 content :D
- New way to combat horde SCPs (008-02, 049-2)
- Restoring RP faster from detrimental breaches like 008 and mass breaches.
- Foundation counterpart to CI Grenadier
- Can be part of VIP package, more $$$

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Balance
- Dev time D:
- 049 will need working around as few 049-2s aren't that strong in smaller numbers

E-11 is in need of new content, it's a high priority ticket. The grenadier job was initially to go to E-11 before it went to CI, but that's a train that has long departed. Now, with the ability to add damage vs humans and vs SCPs, E-11 can have a dedicated anti-SCP job / weapon (that isn't AA). It is of course early days with this change, but this is my idea of how it can help E-11.

God, I'm really bad at this part aren't I? I don't really have loads to say. The function is there, I think this is a cool way it can be added to E-11.

I was about to scoff and say "This is kinda overkill for fighting one SCP," but then I stopped and realised that the biggest server health problems relating to breaches, are with mass breaches.

And during mass breaches, the SCPs often tend to group up to consolidate their strength to push through Foundation forces. This would be the most correct and realistic response - And SCP grouping already gets punished to an extent with the use of nitro/gas. I think providing a more common and readily accessible way to press on this particular weakness is exactly what breach gameplay needs right now. This stands to have huge positive ramifications on the server as a result.

I think this will also allow for more breathing room when it comes to hopefully-still-planned(?) 049 buffs [1] [2] (although no tickets seem to exist :(), as 049 does need buffs right now, but ATM buffing it incorrectly could worsen the problem in the complete opposite direction. Having an anti-SCP grenade launcher readily available to use against it would be ideal for that.

this could be a limited job like CI TB with tokens and would be like a anti SCP unit that would be used before ERT was called with a grenade launcher with Anti SCP rounds.

I can see where you are coming from, however with how often E-11 die in breaches I don't feel like a token system would be beneficial. It would be better to have a 1-2 cooldown system like Grenadier had on launch if a cooldown HAD to be added, but equally grenadier doesn't have a cooldown anymore.

It would be good against mass breaches. And is pretty reasonable.

Though I don't really want this kind of thing to be used on single breaches.


Maybe make it a AA item?
Depends on how this will be deployed, it could be restricted to 2+ SCP breaches. It would be automatically included in the loadouts and would be disallowed from use against one SCP due to say "lore reasons".
 
E-11 dont need more AA items they need new actual content that can have a gameplay loop from
Agreed, Which is why on the US, our old Subdivision is coming back. E-11 have a lot to add for the site and the issue is, we cant get much approved without going against rules/SA.

This is what CI's Grenadier was going to be so I doubt that it would be added after it was in discussion already and added to a different faction
