Content Suggestion Allow SCPs to sit

Content Suggestions will be reviewed by Content Team weekly, please allow time as not everything can be reviewed at once.
What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
[This suggestion aims to remove the inability for SCPs to sit, such as humanoid SCPs like 035, 049, TGs, 7722, 073 etc, while making it FailRP for SCPs to enter vehicles unless the situation requires it.
This also solves things such as transporting humanoid SCPs in vehicles, not making it a driving information leak when you have to drag an SCP behind your vehicle (of course this is impossible with SCPs that cannot physically sit or be in vehicles.
Simply making a new rule that would prohibit SCPs from entering vehicles unless for RP reasons (so no entering during active hostile breaches), or if they're non-humanoid and then removing the script that disallows SCPs to sit down will basically allow for a lot more immersive RP]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
[Not that I'm aware of]

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[At the moment, SCPs are incapable of entering vehicles, and this also inhibits their ability to sit down using the sit everywhere mod. My only bet is that the script basically creates an invisible vehicle on the seat you want to sit on, and considering SCPs can't enter vehicles, it inhibits the ability to sit normally anywhere else

First of all, it'd just be RP enhancement and more in character, for example having an interview with 049, it'd make sense you'd sit face to face with them, instead of them having to stand besides the chair all the time

As I've stated above as well, transportation of humanoid SCPs during DEA buying them back, or simply... well, transportation becomes a LOT easier. GOC doesn't have to mass amnesticate surface because they couldn't physically stuff an SCP into a truck and it just... looks neater...]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[People could abuse this, going into vehicles to avoid getting shot, or simply minges going up to surface as 999 or 2295 and stealing a humvee, driving around Pinewood for 30 minutes. But once again, making this FailRP should circumvent at least 80% of these cases, and remove the bad apples regardless.]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[Based on the fact that this can't be abused in a game breaking sense, and is really more of an inconvenience if done (and again, leads to a staff intervening if done), I'd say that getting much more immersive RP and situations out of it definitely warrants this being accepted.
I just really want to sit as SCPs... Like... look at 049's room, 4 entire places to sit, but not a single one for him to sit on ;-;]

+Support

I'm unsure of this but I think the sit function for SCPs was removed due to them being able to sit in vehicles to either hide from people or drive with it or gun with it not sure tho otherwise I don't see any reason for this not to be accepted
Yeah, which is why I suggested that it becomes a rule addition to simply make it FailRP so people can report it. Not to mention, more tickets for staff to reach their quota (joking)

I think 035 should be able to go in to cars to steal them

+support 912 just had to crouch beside me today because they couldn't sit. Obviously not for SCP's like 682, but humanoid SCP's would be a small nice addition

I believe the ability to sit was removed from SCPs as they were abusing it to get out of their CCs... now with the update to "Sit Anywhere" that just returns you to the original place you sat from, this would no longer be an issue. Plus it allows me to do Type Green depression RP
Chiming in here, I opened a suggestion on this topic last year, and it was accepted! Unless something has changed, SCPs being re-allowed to sit is planned. Here's the currently open ticket on it.

As for the speculation on the reasoning why it was removed in the first place, I'll quote what I said in my prior suggestion on the matter:
My understanding is that SCPs were prevented from using vehicles (Vehicles in this case referring to GMod vehicles, not specifically the vehicles addon the server uses) especially including sitting, as the way sitting works is that it creates a temporary invisible seat vehicle for the player to then immediately sit in? Because of an issue some few years back that players found, where an SCP could sit and just be immune to all damage - So SCPs were restricted from entering vehicles for this reason.
I still don't know if this was the case, but without any confirmation, I imagine it's likely, given that anything that could be exploited in this manner for a nonsensical and unfair benefit to the SCP is stamped out with good reason. Abusing it to hide from pursuers & clipping out of the CC bounds also feels along the right line of reasoning, too.

But given that the prior suggestion was accepted and the ticket is still up, this is likely because it was seen as resolvable/reintroducable at the time. However, it might be that this ends up being revised and canned if Content find that SCP sitting can't be reintroduced in such a way that it can't be abused.

For now, I think it's just sitting in the backlog because... Well, it's SCP sitting. It's a relatively minor thing that adds a little bit of QoL to general SCP roleplay, but needs to be delicately reimplemented and tested to ensure it can't be abused like it was before - And as developers are volunteers, the work is elective with developers being free to just work on whatever tickets they feel up to trying to tackle at whatever given moment. So the combination of those things means that this unfortunately may take a while. All we can do is wait patiently and hope things go well. Something something apply for a developer position something something.

This is mostly speculation on my part, but my gut instinct is that I'm along the right lines here. If any dev could provide further clarification to this, that'd be very informative and appreciated.

very neat. then there is a chance this isn't necessary at all. I simply could not find any keywords because the word "sit" and "SCP" were too short for the website to search up on.

thanks for the heads up!
