CC4.0 Feedback Thread

Hello Civilgamers,

Now CC4.0 has been out for a few days, we would like to gather more detailed feedback on the release. We would like to know what your thoughts are on anything changed in the update, as well as how gameplay on the server functions. This could be the map, police changes, gun changes, economy changes, staff quality or anything which may affect the server, positively or negatively.

We will be looking through responses on this thread carefully, so, please write as detailed responses as you can and remain civil in your discussion, both to developers and players on the server.

Map is good a few glitches but the worst part is that I lost 2hours of progress and a lot of money because of a server restart

Apologies for the server restart, I know it is not ideal so soon into the release but you'll be please to know that the issue has been fixed and this shouldn't happen again. We've run a token roulette and will refund you for whatever you have proof for, or we can use our tools to automatically refund for.

Apologies for the server restart, I know it is not ideal so soon into the release but you'll be please to know that the issue has been fixed and this shouldn't happen again. We've run a token roulette and will refund you for whatever you have proof for, or we can use our tools to automatically refund for.
Sadly the items that are worth the most were meth and moderators cannot refund it to me

CCSF weapons are legit insane. They used to be locked behind lvl 25, since you needed the levels to play CCSF. Since no one has anything remotely similar to those weapons, its legit impossible to beat ccsf. Same goes for the weapons that swat has. Just give pd weaker spawn weapons, and lock the good weapons behind level, so level the playingfield in the earlygame.

Territories are also missing from v org which kinda sucks

I personally do not enjoy the way the economy turned out. Any criminal activity pays actually nothing compared to other methods. Succesfully robbing the bank with a full bag of gold pays less than looting 10 dumpsters. Succesfully robbing the jewellery store pays less than 3 dumpsters. Basing is actually not even viable anymore, it takes like 4 hours to make 100k with the executive printer and vcmining was removed.
When I previously raised the point that I do not like the fact that the server pushed you towards basing where it'd take 4 hours to break-even on the investment, I didn't mean to simply make basing not viable anymore and force us to do other types of content for money which pay nothing really.
I would've liked criminal activity to be incentivized more, equally with police activity. The police activity has been pretty solid, though I would've liked people to earn their ranks instead of just handing them out, which at this point is probably too late. My suggestion would be to have the current ranks on a trial basis and make changes as needed.
I would also like to see the casino being able to get robbed again, though that probably wouldn't happen without a map update.
If someone who hasn't played 4.0 yet asked me what I think of the major version update, I'd say it's a lot of the same but everything is made harder to get so you have to grind more for your goals.
In the current setting the only thing that motivates me is the fact that the population is obviously higher from the wipe as well as the fact that I'm playing with people I know from 3.0 again, but without the sense of progression (because there isn't any from my perspective) it'll get stale very quick and don't see myself playing long-term without major changes.

Bus driving is horrendous. The bus itself sucks, slow, difficult to control, hard to go through the inner part of the city. You get 300 gbp for completing a complete line whereas you could get triple that amount by just delivering one package as postman. You get 100 skill xp where as postman can deliver just two packages within 30 seconds and get as much. Then there's awkward bus stops. Sometimes the waypoint is in the middle of the road, sometimes it's on the wrong side of the road. Definately if you experience other traffic this pisses both parties off.
My suggestion would be to change the bus controls, and if you can't then use a different bus (previous bus was fine), give skill experience for every bus stop achieved, increase payout for completing a full busline, adjust the map to remove certain awkward areas for the bus to navigate through:

In reference to PD ranks (atleast in CCSF) the people in the ranks are already on a trial basis and being monitored by myself and other COs. I completely agree with everything said here though.

Have mostly done HEconomy stuff so far.

What does levels even do other than unlock new ore types? I am currently like level 27 and I mine a rock node at the same speed as a level 1-5 it seems. Now that I have reached level 25 are the remaining levels completely useless or have I missed something? I am sure the system previous to these levels made you cut trees and mine rocks faster. Don't think I get more resources either, but can't be sure since I don't know how it works. Would like to know though.

There's way too few gold and cobalt ores, 3 each compared to the like 9 the evocity mines had, spawn times of all ores except regular stone is also pretty slow and won't allow more than 1, max 2 miners to be active at the same time and actually get anything to work with.

I also wonder if food stacks and chop shop NPCs have been removed? Have not found them so far and I've seen several people looking for them (the NPC).

Maybe people will dislike this, but still, I really think the bulk shipment skill needs to go. This is such a meta skill with no equal and will just completely destroy any new player's chances of selling stuff to veteran players.

Eventually every gang will have someone with this perk and they can self-supply all their friends for base prices and get 50% more guns. Most of the time this skill doesn't even provide any bonus to the person who owns it, just the buyer. Even though gun dealers technically could increase their markup and earn more on this perk this seems to be a rare occurrence for some reason. It only helps destroy gundealing for new players and makes guns a less effective money sink.

I suggest switching it for something else, maybe refund a certain % of a shipment after you buy it so the dealer with the perk actually profits more rather than the customer just getting free guns. Or maybe someone has a better suggestion, either way I think this skill has a bad impact on the server. This was at least my experience on CG.

We need both a economy boost since criminal activities pay very horrible, basing is very bad to do and printers and bitmining are just not worth it. At this point, its becoming more of a policerp not a cityrp. Its not even fun now, no one can make money and people are so bored trying to find something to do, and robbing places like jewelry pay like 5 dumpsters. Police guns are incredibly op, and civilian guns can barely do anything unless you are actually able to hit heads and its incredibly hard to kill ccsf when they, for some unknown reason, are patrolling the city. I also would like to say that there was no reason to get rid of vcminers, and if there was a problem, couldn't they just be limited to the small vcminers? MY last point that i really want to be known is that in org assets, heavy armor really doesnt do anything at all but makes you slow, can you please fix it as its quite expensive, and ccsf can just rip through it like paper.

The new map is incredibly confusing.
Road signs don't match up with those of the map display (esc->map) and you do not have a (clear) indicator of where you are currently to match against where you'd want to go.
Now that I've played the map for a few days I'm well aware where everything is based on memory, but the map wasn't as useful as it could've been. If I was a new player on a new server I'd probably have given up trying to find things.

My suggestions:
- Allow for waypoints to be set similar to transport missions etc.
- Add map overview to F4 menu instead of (or in combination with) the esc-menu. Nobody expects map to be in the esc menu.
- Add a /map command that opens the map.
- Add a big highlighed icon for the current position of a player on the map overview (something like this:

The bugs and missing features are ruining the server. Here's a list of things that are huge wins for the server, that you've chosen not to prioritize:

Heco legit doesnt work
Casino raids arent set up
½ of the contracts legit dont work


Here's some more things that dont work:
Bank manager doesnt work
You cant lockpick the new police handcuffs
The cars are bugged as hell, you cant move seats and more
When someone calls pd and you respond, the call never ends

Some of the many contracts that doesnt work:
Bank defender - Bank probably not configured for quest?
Meth destroyer - Probably linked to the old meth?
The sniper headshot one - None of the snipers have been configured to work
Casino heist - Legit not in the game


Instead of focusing on any of these things, you spend time on making weed pots not work if they are tilted over 20 degrees?
Like cmon, fix the real issues istead of wasting time on something that doesnt really change anything.

Imo this release was rushed, and just made the server worse. You changed the map, which ruined half the things on the server, wiped the eco and made it impossible to make decent money as a criminal, removed most the cars, even though this map needs it much more (and made the cars much more expensive), and then just called it 4.0.

We are so many that wished to get the server refreshed since we honestly love it, but we dont want it like this.

I hope you'll spend your time fixing the broken and missing stuff, instead of adding new stuff or fixing stuff that aint broken

Good job on fixing and adding missing stuff so far, I think there's been a dramatic improvement from last week in terms of bugs and missing content.

Weapon attachments
The weapon attachment system is extremely obscure, like imagine being a new player and seeing a bunch of images of hotdogs with no other information than stuff like "homemade internals" or "milspec". Like, it's borderline a scam, because a lot of these attachments you really don't want to use, yet you're gonna have to pay 3-9k to find out about it. This might not be a priority, but in the future I think this should be looked at. I'd recommend at least adding clear stats before purchasing that says what they do.

Steam group
Use Steam group to announce stuff, the Riverden trial was announced on the group but not the release, nor the event that was this week, seems like a waste not to do it.

Update rules page,
-Job list is outdated, i.e factorian not in job list, genetic researcher still there, some missing jobs, etc.

-The map is still evocity at the bottom of rules.

-Speed limits

-"1. They must be in your organization and have an identifying tag in their name OR you must be in the same party as them."

This rule above should include instructions how to create a party, "/createparty". It does not make it very clear what a "party" is. Maybe add createparty to the command list in f4 menu ingame as well to make it even easier for those not familiar of the system?

More Heconomy feedback (obviously all of these might not be very high priority, but when time allows, these might be worth looking at)
-Rename electric connector to something like "Heco electric connector", and add instructions like "Left click on a generator" and then "now left click on a machine you wish to connect/power". I think this will make it more clear what the tool is for and how to use it.

-Make levels do something, either faster mining/chopping or more resources, more resources/higher chance of getting more stuff might be better, because it means you won't hog everything from others, but still get a good benefit yourself.

-Make water in the mines not hurt, or remove the cobalt from waters. Nobody wants to mine a ore down one level, then run to the hospital and back 5 times for like 5-15 cobalt.

-Rebalance some recipes, armor for example is basically throwing scrap in the ocean (50 scrap is quite a lot, 15 armor isn't), car alarm is also a bit steep on circuits and electrics for what it does.

-Add some more intuitive way of getting explosives. Explosives are required in order to craft science equipment, but there is no clear obvious way to get them. It's basically destroying printers or opening crates, which is not obvious and very unintuitive for those looking to get started with Heconomy (not to mention if you're gonna spend money on crafting crates just for explosives you might as well buy science equipment for the cash instead right away). Possible alternatives would be either a way to craft it in assembler machine, having a chance to find it in dumpsters, or something else.

-FAL is an error

Map errors
-Rocks (I think they are supposed to be rocks, I have never actually seen them, but whatever items are supposed to be spread around the deep mines) in the bottom of the mines are errors, I have subscribed to everything, I have CSS mounted, and I have rejoined, they are still errors. I am not talking about ore nodes just to make it clear.

-Errors on prison section


-Flying NPC on south street

Link to images for errors and flying NPC, if it suspected that these errors are on my side I'd like to know how to fix them, nothing I have tried have worked.

Errors were fixed today and are gone
