What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This Suggestion adds the ability to attack other factions through the great thing known as technology. Basically, there would be a new terminal/computer in every base. This includes CI, GOC, and Foundation. You would be able to select different cyber attacks like maybe one for GOC/CI to hack into Foundations security cameras for a limited amount of time.
All these attacks would have a reasonable cooldown. Now there might be one to temporarily shut down a factions comms (it’d be short but the cooldown would be long).
To remove these attacks before it affects anything, the faction must use their terminal/computer to use a te-5 or another minigame to remove it.
It would also take some time for the attack to go into affect. So if you hack a factions comms line, it’ll take 30 seconds to 2 minutes for it to take effect (content team can decide how long). During this time, the opposing faction can attempt to counter the attack. If they counter it, then it goes away and doesn’t do anything. However, if they don’t act quick enough their comms goes out for a tiny amount of time.
Factions could also raid other factions to hack their terminal/computer which would disable any inputs for some amount of time so that they don’t have to worry about cyber attacks.
Now, the only problem with this I can foresee right now is the fact GOC/CI doesn’t have cameras so it’s more unfair for them to be able to hack Foundations cameras. This is why Foundation would be able to hack something else they can’t, but currently I can’t think of anything.
Perhaps there could also be a cyber attack to open certain doors. This is why I would also suggest a Cyber Attack raid cooldown type thing. However, cooldowns on attacks would also fix that.
In summary, all factions would be able to hack each other (anonymously) but would be able to counter the attacks if they’re quick enough. It could be the same mini-game as the TE-5, or it could be an entirely new one that people have to learn. Attacks can range from opening doors, tapping into security cameras, to cutting a factions comms.
Allows more fun for GOIs/Foundation when they have nothing else to do.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I saw.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- More things to do in downtime
- Allows a new playstyle
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- May get annoying after a while
- People don’t wanna sit at a terminal making sure their goi/foundation is fine.
- Dev Time (legitimately though)
Based on the Positives Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted
Overall, this will bring an entirely new play style that can be changed to be balanced but people would most likely find it fun. To some people, it may look annoying to deal with, but with good enough cooldowns, people will begin to like it.
EDIT: I forgot to add but there would be player counts needed for cyber attacks. For foundation, most likely 60-70 or 4-6 SOP. Then GOC would need 6-8. Finally, CI would need 6-8.
