What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
You will no longer be able to hit a bind key to strip everything from someone in a matter of 2 seconds.

If the change is too drastic or many simply don't like the idea, I think limiting a strip bind to one item would be fine, and then you'd have to manually type the other items you'd like stripped.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No idea

Possible Positives of the suggestion:
Makes sense RP wise since you wouldn't be able to just take every item from someone within a span of a second

Now it will actually take considerable effort to strip items since you'll have to manually type exact items you want to be stripped.

Makes it less confusing for players who don't understand the strip mechanic since people won't be including things that cannot actually be stripped I.E cyanide, weapons, keycards, etc. This is because no one will specifically type in these items since it'll be a waste of time since they can't actually strip those items.

Would allow multiple people to strip one person at once, each would be asked to strip a specific item so that the detainee would still lose all their equipment anyway.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
People who type slow will be at a major disadvantage

This could drastically mess with how pvp works in the server and would have to be tested beforehand.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The suggestion should be accepted because it not only makes sense, but it makes stripping equipment would now require a team effort if you wanted someone to lose everything.

if someone has a bind for every specific place in the Foundation and is able to memorise each bind I wouldn’t even be mad that they panic buttoned tbh
Plus, if they were on voice comms they could have gotten it out anyway, so it just makes it so people not on voice aren't disadvantaged

I'd respect that. Except there are people who just use something like that while they're in EZ for example lmao. I remember one dude had a panic button specifically for A1 and it was hilarious. "Help! A1 is kidnapping me!" hahaha!

fair play to them, if A1 cant strip them quick enough or get caught out then there should be repercussions to that

It should be considered power gaming to strip weapons through a bind, same way its considered power gaming to strip keycard through binds, even in a controlled setting, cuz it takes time with either tool to actually take stuff away.

i mean technically, this would be accepted since once we have the strip SWEP, strip binds would be disallowed once more as powergaming

It SHOULD be, I agree, but they shouldn't rule on this until more jobs have the weapon strippers (i.e Nu-7, E-11, ISD jobs besides Specialist, Deep Cover, Assessment Team, etc.)

Me when Content Team says weapon stripper too OP for Regiment jobs (it clearly takes away RP from /me binds)

Read before making verdict:

Do not just deny it because "Swep coming soon", implement this and give all MTF/DEA/CI/GOC jobs weapon checker & Interrogation tool UNTIL the swep comes out, and THEN you can change it. It makes no sense to me why this shouldn't be accepted until the swep arrives, so that we may combat this issue temporarily.

Thank you

here's the immediate issue i see here - even though yes, this is something that is immediately and simply doable, you're basically saying that an HMod+ should go through... what, roughly 100 or so jobs? and add two SWEPs to them. it's still a manual task.

now admittedly yes, when the strip SWEP comes out, they'd have to do that anyway... but that's regardless of this, since the job would then just be "remove the checker & interro tool, replace with strip SWEP" where applicable. so you're asking HMods+ to go over all of those jobs twice. once now, once later.

Edit: I'm dumb and forgot what I said. *ahem* those jobs should have weapon checker and interrogate anyway, and the fact they don't is mindblowing to me. If a GSD cadet has weapon checker, all combative jobs should. Interrogate is a tool I would personally think it makes sense for these jobs to have but it's not a big deal if not every job gets it. Maybe the more Sr positions get it. ISD should get both regardless since they're the best of the best and are basically "Do everything and do it well" in an MTF regiment.

You actually can, apparently. This was what a senior or super said last, iirc. It's almost as if they should actually keep track of and make public rulings on things, rather than leaving it up to interpretation on everything so nobody knows what's allowed or not.
I've gotten like 3 different responses from admins on this topic, at this point I'm too afraid to ask :skull:

I operate under the idea that if you can strip weapons via keybinds, the weapon strip tool is redundant. It'd be ridiculous to make a whole tool useless and thus you can't use keybinds to strip weapons.

But apparently you can use keybinds so shrug

the debate of the suggestion has completely changed, but:
What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
You will no longer be able to hit a bind key to strip everything from someone in a matter of 2 seconds.
if this is it, then it would be straight up impossible to strip certain items (As there arent sweps for them, such as chems, suicide items, etc)

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
If the change is too drastic or many simply don't like the idea, I think limiting a strip bind to one item would be fine, and then you'd have to manually type the other items you'd like stripped.
if its this, then i dont think it would be enforceable. Having the other items be manually typed would be too hard to enforce, as people will just use their binds but wait a moment before doing so.
This would also put a unnecessary disadvantage on people who type slower.

+/-Neutral

If they still have them on binds but have a delay between them, that's still fine. As long as they can't just look at you and instantly steal everything you own like is done now.

Suggestion Response

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to make a Suggestion

We have something on the development backlog for this issue, but it is not currently implemented yet. For now though we will have the gameplay remain the same without changing any rules.
