Do you have a mic?: Yes
Is this the first application you made? If no, link all previous applications:
- Yes
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
- One warning for fear RP as it was my first time being in a fear RP scenario, I was in a heli so I flew away after being stingered multiple times when I was supposed to land and jump out. I have read the laws and rules since then and I understand the rules in a lot more depth than before.
Do you have any previous experience as a Gamemaster/Event Manager in a community?:
- No, this is my first time! However, I have been a DM for a D&D campaign.
Do you have any previous experience with serious roleplay?:
- I have done roleplay in Arma 3 and on Fivem however I was not on it for too long.
How many hours can you be on everyday?:
- 2-5 depending on how much work I had set from school. For the next month or so I will not be available at all on Fridays or after 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays as I have some temporary work
Why do you want to become a Gamemaster on our server?:
- I was convinced by Alex and Millar to make an application for staff or GM. After some consideration, I felt that I would be a much better addition to the GM team as they are more in need, so it would be better for the server. I have played a lot of D&D and I did story writing for a while which gives me some creative experience for things especially like lore. After recent events, I feel like it is more imperative for new GMs to apply in order to make the server more enjoyable for all while making things a lot easier for the current GMs. I do lack Gmod specific experience but I am confident that I will learn quickly and improve after every event.
What do you think you would be able to help us with on the server? Why are you special over the other applicants?:
I feel like I would be able to clean up lore, come up with ideas for the event and help with testing and balancing. I would also make sure that every regiment is able to participate in their own small event in order to keep everyone happy and avoid any bias!
Please List 3 small event ideas (Which would involve at least one side of the server):
-IEDs have been implanted on vehicles around the map by an angered weapons manufacturer, it is both sides' job to scout out and take the vehicles and use them before the explosive trigger occurs. These vehicles can be used to destroy FOBs or, returned to base to allow for disarming in order to be used for the next war! While temporarily available, these vehicles can also be used by pc/militia to wreak havoc over both sides! The losing sides gets 10 or 20 percent reduced ammo reserves for the war.
-Experiment results from the research performed in the area of operation sheer cold have broken loose from USSR base and must be stopped. The experiments will have a lot of health and be juggernauts while NATO and Ussr hunt them down. An additional possibility to this event could be a job change after a certain amount of deaths which would result in you turning into a zombie that would only have a specific type of knife and increased movement speed or something. This would be hard to pull off but would be cool to have in some way
- Both NATO and USSR have started running low on funds, and so they decided to come together and create a boxing ring where you will have to pay for entry and could bet with others on the winners! I'm sure umbra would make a great ring leader as he has done many times before
This event would mostly be for fun during a late night or something as peace times can be very jarring (and a little fun hasn't hurt anyone some of the time)
Please List an Map change event idea (Involving both sides and the entire server)
Overview of the event and the lore
Operation Glass Cage (or Ice cage if you want to throw a pun in there)
After losing on many fronts (as they have been losing many events) Nato allied countries have started to lose hope and some have started to turn to the USSR for aid. That means that a lot of information and hidden secrets of NATO is being given out and exposed to the public. One of those includes camp Sheera; a base hidden deep in the arctic tundra, specifically designed to withhold prisoners of war and research towards nuclear technology in naval warfare. The barbaric treatment of the prisoners was blatantly going against NATO beliefs, and in addition to this, the camp broke the Antarctic treaty system resulted in Sheera being kept behind closed curtains for years.
However,
that ends now.
NATO's Mission
NATO must assist the Royale Marines in preserving the contents of the base as it cannot be destroyed at ANY COST. Losing Camp Sheera will be devastating to NATO's research and public image. As we do this, we must look out for anybody within the camp that could have leaked any information to the outer sources, it is suspected that the mole is still in the base. We must find him and interrogate him before he manages to leak any more information to the public. There is also one major player in this operation, and that is _____ the leader of Camp Sheera is currently present there. Our number one priority is to keep him safe from being killed or kidnapped.
The 82nd Airborne Division will be deployed in order to ensure that necessary support is provided for transport/evacuation and extra manpower against the guaranteed USSR reinforcements.
USSR's Mission
The Saudi Arabian minister of defences has leaked The Defence Meteorological Satellite Program's (DMSP) satellite images to UHC. The images have shown strange activity in the western arctic, right under our noses! The objective is to storm, seize and capture anybody and anything in the area in order to fully investigate and uncover the truth behind the activity, this will be done by claiming all the territories until right up to their HQ. All NATO presence must be wiped off this part of our map, especially _____ who is apparently the ring leader behind this activity.
The Northern Fleet will be deployed alongside the 470th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment in order to assist the main battle force
If worst comes to worst, The long-range aviation branch is on standby. We must not allow NATO to uphold such an integral position so close to our borders.
Extra details
This event would be based on an arctic map such as gm_arctic (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=555343199). I am still new to Gmod and don't really know how to find good maps but this one looked pretty good so there is always room for change! Anything in a tundra will do. However, if the map is too open, vision could be hindered in some way (e.g snow or scope changes ) in order to stop snipers from winning the game
It will not have tanks as MBTs are not suited for such conditions and I couldn't find any tanks on the workshop that would work well for a mission like this unless we could tweak it and allow some light tanks to be available (this is also to ensure that the Sheer cold tank problem doesn't occur again). Cas will also be disabled however transport helis will be available as transport helicopters are capable of operating in such conditions. JAF/ABT (Now the 82nd Airborne Division and the 470th Guard) and 10th/17th (Now the Royale Marines and the Northern Fleet) could possibly get specialised jobs (including an actual sniper class) and vehicles for the snowy terrain!
NATO will not be able to cap back points apart from the two closest to their base
Events during the event
There will be mini events scattered across the event, some will be determined by how the war is going and others will occur regardless. Some of these will be conducted over peacetime, the harsh conditions allow for a lot of creativity when it comes to base maintenance that could improve the quality of FOBs and base/stocks. That and the lack of information gathered from both sides allows for reconnaissance missions, such as tracking an important package vs trying to sneak it into a safe location, as well. If the missions were to succeed, advantages could be given to the side that won it (e.g attack/defence of supplies could add war fund). A snowstorm event/war could also be considered to add some tension/desperation to the event.
Conclusion to the event
If Nato wins: No loose ends, the marines and RMP along with any remaining lower end scientists and war prisoners will be executed as there can not be any witnesses to what occurred in Camp Sheera, everyone else will be sent home without knowing a thing. The camp will be terminated/moved to a different location in order to avoid any risks or possible conflicts. NATO's public image is just barely saved from certain deterioration while USSR's has gone down after so many resources were used on nothing short of a failed attempt at "nothing".
If USSR wins: After a thorough investigation of the premises, evidence of the camp's existence, combined with the propaganda of the saved hostages will be shown to the public, making some countries either go neutral or join the USSR, USSR may do with the captured as they please.
Some extra notes
-I personally think it would be a cool idea if the global territory system is used to have some type of overarching lore and win/lose condition, which is why the conclusions had an effect on public image
-I also wanted to have a more realistic portrayal of NATO as there are obviously hidden secrets and big bad things that the public does not know, that and the realism of there being no true good or evil is pretty neat
-I haven't been in an event where NATO defended so this lined up perfectly for the previous notes
-I focused the event on creating lore that was realistic and linked to real-life such as the regiments (oh my god it took a while to find some regiments based on cold conditions) this was to show some of the ideas I can come up with on the fly and also lore is cool
-The mission description for both sides would resemble what would be pinged out however I would make it much more broadcast/dialogue like rather than just a flat out description.
List an example mission for each pair of regiments:
MP/KGB:
Drug search, NATO and USSR are cracking down on within each side there is a drug lord that is controlling a massive drug trafficking trade with pc, the objective is for MP/KGB to search and interrogate their own fellow soldiers in order to find the drug lord and arrest him, this will involve some actors obviously and a time limit such as, find him before his next major shipment in ___ days. This can happen for both sides which means that after the first side finds and interrogates the drug lord, they could sell any info to the other side in order to get an extra edge next war or for some personal cash.
SAS/AG:
Someone is giving abhorrent orders to NATO but it isn't a well-known member of NHC directly. Someone is leaking information from the outside. It is SAS's job to find and kidnap the brain behind the operation while it is AG's job to set up a perimeter and defend the man. There will be a twist however, NHC Rex is not very happy with this and has ordered heavy weapon strikes onto the territory (likely someplace like a west town). Smokes and explosions will be fired at the area while both sides must struggle and position themselves in a way to survive.
SHA & ISAF:
Capture The Base. A flat out PVP base defence /attack where the opposite sides of the airfield have two different FOB's/tac inserts that the other team must destroy. It's simple and fun and allows for some rivalry between the opposing regiments.
JAF & ABT:
2 Blackhawks and a ground vehicle of choice must break past the defending enemy cas in order to para drop troops to a high-value target (such as NHC) and fight to eliminate him or rescue him, ABT will be in the cas or defending the target. Cas may not fire into the territory with the target, JAF may not fire against the cas. BFs are not allowed (This resembles bulldog but with helicopters huh)
10th & 17th:
Capture The Tank. There will be a tank in the border main building and 17th and 10th must race to get the tank so it can be used by them in the next war. The tank will be buffed to make it worth them having to balance the idea of risking their own tanks for it while minimizing losses. They will be able to make blockades to stop other tanks from passing and you are allowed to use the border wall to stop 17th from entering and 10th from chasing. They are allowed to take tanks and matadors. NO OTHER REGIMENTS (INCLUDING HELIS) ARE TO BE INVOLVED!
