Add back the #Memes channel on discord

Its quite the coincidence that as soon as the video of ventz being racist is brought to light in the channel it instantly gets closed. Now I think thats pretty suspicious

There is not a single way anyone can convince me that whole server should suffer from certain people posting things they should not have and i believe that this decision was taken irresponsibly by SL/NL. Other course of action, such as taking away embed perms of people who violated the server rules regarding posting images, is way more practical than just not giving a damn about the ways people have fun by socialising on this server.

Denying this suggestion will further proove that NL/SL does not care about actually solving the given problems

This suggestion reflects the way NL have come to their decision in recent months. They went the easier route, instead of revoking embed perms, enforcing the rules properly or even resorting to ban them. I am sure the #memes channel will return to the discord some day in the future, like how regimental command terms were removed. Either that, or the same people end up complaining about a never-before-seen issue just so that they can see other people get punished.

This is not how the server should be run and the clock is ticking until NL decide to remove another much widely loved aspect of the community in order to punish a vocal minority.

I don't get it that an harmless text channel like memes should be deleted it are MEMES FUNNY JOKES. There is no harm with it I dont why NL has to do this cause it just memes its nothing personal.

Hi, just to be clear, we have had this discussion going ever since we launched SCP-RP and decided not to create a memes channel for the SCP-RP Discord. If you think I just decided to pull this decision out of my ass one day then you are definitely wrong, and to try to say "it's only a matter of time till they start going for more!!" shows a lack of understanding on how we make decisions, though I appreciate it is the easiest conclusion to come to.

SCP-RP has a less toxic community than MRP and we believe part of that is due to more Discord moderation and the lack of a generic memes channel. I don't have a problem with MRP specific memes, maybe I will add a channel called mrp-memes as mrp-art doesn't fit due to the existence of an 'art' channel in MRP already. The memes about the Queen dying and people making memes about 'spastic' children just reminded us to make this decision.

On the topic of moderation, NL can't personally moderate Discord (there's not enough of us), and we've seen time and time again it isn't getting moderated enough. It's never been within the rules to post offensive memes, and to the credit of staff/SL they do delete things, but even with that it's not really been working well enough in our opinion.

Im gonna make another comment since vip chat has been purged.

Even though as i previously said that straight up deleting the chat is pretty much the most lazy idea just to get the job done not thinking about better options, ok fine you deleted chat because you have been given all the complaints we never got to see nor we got to hear from anyone of those unidentified and unsatisfied people, personally to try to stop us from being " toxic " . With the same logic i can just run a community and say : "hey guys these unknown people just complained that you all should be banned so thats what im gonna do rn. " Yes this is definitely an exaggerated example but still.

Now the other thing im trying to get to is why was vip chat purged and all embed perms taken away. That chat has way smaller ammount of people using it so if you guys are saying that if meme channel was deleted then why should we be able to post stuff there, then just moderate it. As i said just removing ability of anyone to post memes is just like removing humor from the server making things look way more aggressive and strict and im pretty sure this is not how to have fun in a community. And i dont care about scp not having a meme channel they are different people with different standards as well as scp-rp it self being more of a serious role play than mrp.
