Name: Valk
Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:22353377
Previous Rank: SGM
Date of resignation?: Unknown, but around June/July I think?
Why did you resign? Lack of support for the GM team at the time and burnout.
Prior to this resignation , have you ever been demoted or resigned?: Several times before.
Have you ever been kicked/warned/banned?: I have, lots of various reasons, I'm a long term player.
Why should you return / why can you now commit to being staff again?:

There's a lot of things to discuss here, so I'll break it down.

Recent Inactivity - Problem?
I respect this appeal comes amidst a span of inactivity. I would like to preface this by saying that, even as GM, I was not particularly active in game. I came online when I was hosting an event, but not for any other real reason.

I don't enjoy playing in wars, I much prefer peacetime activity where I could use my GM perms to create scenarios or let players have fun. I wouldn't be willing to do 2 weeks worth of something I don't enjoy to be eligible, especially when peacetime has just been reduced. I hope my reputation and past experience illuminates why pushing past the dogma is a good idea in this situation.

That being said, I'm still active in the community, I'm often engaging in the discord and talking with people. I don't necessarily see myself as being 'away'.

Events & What I Can Do

I like to do map changes and long-lasting storylines. This is what I am known for, and even now I am frequently asked by the community to return and host more of these events, which I would be excited to do again.

Map changes can be stressful and difficult to plan, but I've done enough of them to have developed a fairly simple formula. I want to bring this back to MRP and help boost the numbers again, even if only temporarily.

I give reason to why certain things happen (like why we move to Afghan, or why we're going to Siberia etc). This is sorely missed from most events.

So What's the Deal?

I love MRP, it's a server I hold in high regards and I've had a lot of fun. It pains me seeing the community falling to a record low and I want to help prevent its collapse.

I am due to start a new job in the next few weeks with flexible hours. This means I will have more time to dedicate to events on the weekends and in the evenings.

If I am reinstated I promise to host 3 consecutive map change events in 3 weeks. Nothing overtly extreme, but enough to generate some hype back to the server.

I will also try to host at least 2 on-map events during the week, although these will most likely be more mini-game based, combat based events are difficult to host. I will also try to make peacetime more engaging by hosting Militia takeovers regularly to get people out of base.

To Conclude

MRP needs some urgent intervention. I'm offering to come back as a GM and inject some content and events in to help stabilise the ship. I know I'm not active in game, but I hope my history and my promise will sway the decision.

I'm ready to hit the ground running, I don't need training and I can have a map change ready for the community within a day. I also have several plans on standby ready to go, including a continuation of the US Invasion storyline that I didn't finish.

I'd want to stick around until at least the new year, during which time I can be training the current GMs, doing map changes or making peacetime more enjoyable.

Thank you for your consideration, I don't want to see MRP collapse and I am more than willing to put in a lot of my time to slow the decline. I hate speaking with even a hint of ego - but I know what I'm doing, and MRP needs people with that experience now more than ever.

+Support

If you are willing to be active and do events then I don't think in game activity matters much beyond that. Your promises sound good but with map change events rushing 3 in 3 weeks doesn't sound like something you should 100% commit to as are you sure you'd be given the backing for such a thing or able to maintain a certain standard of quality for them (even outside of them not being too advanced)

Completely get that

The idea with the 3 map changes is to start with a replay of past events I've held. They'll be relatively simple in terms of lore and more focused on combat and just getting people online.

The map change cycle for me was always one week, I'd start planning on the Monday and have it ready by the Wednesday. Instead of taking a week off, it'd just be a big burst of energy.

I don't really need backing for them, I try to get the event team as involved as possible, but realistically they're usually occupied with other things. Most of my last map changes were solo ventures with me doing the on-map prep and getting it ready.

All that being said, I've got a backlog of a few on-map ideas that I can try too, I'll put things to a community vote before I commit. I want to see what you guys what to do.

One example: MRP Does Purge. 3 to 6 hours of no rules (within reason), infinite restocks and free use of vehicles/equipment. Would play nicely into Halloween.

Another: All Out War - an event-length war on Afghan with unlimited restocks and spawnable territories.

Both could be considered large scale events, but it depends on what people vote for.

Thanks for your support though mate!

Thanks for the support everyone.

I've been making some effort to get in game the past few days to do some stuff with Militia and promoting some RP scenarios.

Really glad to see all the backing, it's been a while since I've been a GM and it means a lot that people still hold my events in such high regard. If I'm accepted back in, I won't let you down.
