What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion would add a feature that obfuscates players in-game names, and adds an option to 'Introduce yourself' in the new E Menu, along with a rule change so that if you're introduced to someone, you can use the name above their head without it being classed as metagaming.

Adding on, public roles, such as Sr. CL4 roles, would have their name introduced to everyone, due to the fact that they would be known by a majority of site as they're in a high and public position.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I believe something similar was denied in the past, however with the current culture of the server and the new introduction of the E menu, I feel as if this would be a good suggestion.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Allows for more in-character meetings.
Would allow for people to know other people's names without it being classed as metagaming.
More immersive for players

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
I really can't see any negatives.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This suggestion should be accepted as it would allow for more immersive roleplay, reduce the impact of metagaming and would generally improve the quality of life on the server.

Yes for removing names for everyone, no for allowing "Public" roles to keep them. I just think it'd be much more fun if people had to find out these things IC, rather than knowing it off the bat.
Also how would this work with other GoI's infilling site? Would they the individuals name as well?

Introduction feature also looks very awesome sauce.

so do they have a name above their head or do they not? is it only above their head after "introducing yourself"?

it would be something along the lines of Guard ???????? or Researcher ????????

to be completely honest, i see this suggestion getting denied for this exact reason. perhaps a new feature could also be introduced alongside this that allows players to report people directly from the C or E menu? im sure there's ways around this that can be thought of.

How about a pre-defined groups of somewhat vague descriptive identifiers per job subset, that people get randomly assigned when they switch to one of these jobs for the first time in that session?

So for D-Class it could be stuff like "Rambunctious D-Class, Scruffy, D-Class, Rowdy D-Class," etc. The more the merrier. It won't strictly solve this issue outright, but it makes it a lot better than making it completely ambiguous.

But then you also have to work out all the subsets that apply and then come up with this type of stuff for every kind of subset. I would group up each role based on general appearance and vibe. So D-Class is kinda the obvious single grouping there.

Then you could have another group consisting of all Researchers, Medical, Dpt. Directors, Site Admin, Assistants, O5/EC, MC&D, GOC Attache and GOC Ambassador, which would have prefixes like "Well-dressed" and such. You get the general idea. That approach might be too much work for a result that may ultimately be far worse than what is current, though.

Or just, it shows you a number if they're not introduced to you. You'd still need some way of keeping track of people both for reporting and just so you can keep track of who you're talking to..
