Accepted Please look at helicopters

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
The aim of this suggestion is to review the helicopters in game.
There are so many issues we have right now, and they really need addressing. It's no longer 'Fun' to fly for JAF.
The first being
Balance the Kiowa & KA52.
This argument is clear. The KA52 is obviously supreme and it's not fun or fair to dogfight Kiowa vs KA52.
The KA has lock on Hellfires, Hydras AND a cannon. Meanwhile, our Kiowa has some Hydras. 'But kIowA smALl' you say? No... just no.
Give the Kiowa a better cannon.

Look at the Comanche!
It's really just not a good helicopter. It spawns and then proceeds to flip because it has some stupid landing gear. Maybe fix them in place?
Also the cannon on the Comanche.. Jesus it's not even worth having.

Finally, please revert the change on our helis where our missiles got HALVED with no consultation within the regiments that fly the helicopters whether this would be a good idea. News flash to you, it hasn't. The KA52 cannon just shits on you because you only have 4 hellfires now.
I just think SL are changing things and having no consultation with the players who actually play the game. They're only looking at one side of the story.
If anyone else has anything to say I'd be glad to discuss / add them below.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Makes the game fun again for heli regiments (Especially JAF)
Means you can actually dogfight without getting instakilled.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1 person cries and this suggestion gets denied.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Well it's not fun to fly helis anymore because the KA52 and its (wait for this one) 600 BULLET CANNON which can pretty much kill you within 5-6 shots.
Please just Buff the kiowa & make the cannon useable, or give us an alternative with that cannon. It's simply not fair.

Whilst I’d be happy to look at helicopter balances for dogfighting, reverting the halved missiles is an absolute no. Infantry are the majority of the playerbase and we already have laughably weak counters and keep getting told that helis are balanced.

Infantry aren’t there to boost your kills, halving the missiles means you spend more time restocking (which is already stupidly fast), gives breathing room to infantry.

Helicopters do not need buffing against infantry, if anything they need a good nerf with more stocks added.

Doesn’t this say something then?
Something quite clearly needs doing here. And you can’t say no Zaps - you switched from UAF to SWB because they’ve got better helis.
why make these false assumptions? i never switched to SWB because of "better helis". Theres a reason why I left UAF, since i wanted to continue flying somewhere else i joined SWB. This has nothing to do with the ka52 btw
NATO/ UAN helis are better, the viper and apache are just way easier to use. Compare this to the euro and Caic, id much prefer having those two.
Comache, good but it seems like you guys cant use it properly.

First of all, by ‘fun’, do you mean taking pride in being the reason why many players that have come and gone from the server because of how stupidly overpowered helicopters are? I can’t believe a single regiment (out of 10) isn’t having fun anymore despite having no real counters whatsoever apart from other helicopters? What about all the other regiments that can’t have fun without being bombed constantly and have no way of stopping it?

Anti-helicopter weaponry (Stingers, KwKs lol) were nerfed to shit (adding flares, reducing turning speed etc) over the course of several months by the same SL you said only looked at one side of the story? It’s really laughable that you even dared to suggest reversing halving missile count.

I am sure a supermajority of players on the server agree with me that the changes to helicopters that were done so far have undoubtedly improved the player experience and that this is a step in the right direction.

Halved Hellfires has been, inarguably, one of the best changes ever made to the server. The change discourages aimless co-pilot spam and promotes conservancy in their use which is a massive W especially when it takes like 10 seconds for restock at helipads.

I actually can't believe that you are serious rn.

First of all, what valk and eisenhower have already said reducing the missile ammount is a change that actually balances the CAS capabilities of a helicopter. Its all fun and giggles when you bomb stuff but on ground its completely different story. Obviously, we cant just remove the missles, so reducing them is the best option here.

Now, what makes you think that ka52 is "clearly superior" to kiowa? You make an assumption that SWB helis are simply better but based on what you said, i wouldn't be surprised if u Havent flown any swb helis. Handling on most of helis that swb have is just simply dogwater, even on ka52 yes. Mi24 absolutely sucks, its handling is just horrid. You simply cant fly in a straight line while flying the mi and its cannon literally does no damage. The ka52 has extremely weird handling and the euro has also extremely weird handling where it just tilts you left and right for no reason. Only actually good heli except for the BF is caic. The jaf helis on the other hand are much easier to use, not only that all of them are generally faster and have better handling, kiowa is smaller and its hydras can one shot a heli.

I changed it because the playerbase voted for it 113-10. I know it's easy to just pump out the "SL change things without asking" stereotype but a little bit of appreciation for the facts would be much obliged.

Helicopters have a hugely unmatched impact on the game for what they are. Just because you are in a helicopter regiment doesn't mean you should have the right to left click 8 times on OP every minute during war and get 10 kills each time. It is specialised equipment that significantly affects the war, reducing the hellfires to 4 was desperately needed with the current stocks as right now it's more of a "there is always a helicopter up" than "oh shit a helicopter!! watch out!!" kind of thing.

Being on ground should be the default for everyone and then specialised equipment should be something which gets pulled out a couple times a war and has the ability to really change the tide of the war. Regiments need to be teaching their players to get used to the default equipment, we can't support a good gameplay loop where people feel entitled to be in a heli constantly, it's like SCP mains on SCP-RP who believe they should be able to be breached 24/7 and rack up kills.

The only way I can see us restoring it to 8 hellfires is if we rework how stocks work, personally I wanted to rework stocks all together so you get some small base amount of stocks and then extra helicopters can be bought with war funds, plus a huge buff for tanks. But that's just me, I'd obviously change-vote that before I did it (so no need to start complaining that I hate the community's opinion or whatever).

I see everyone’s problem with the missiles, so I’ll just shut up about that.

However your piece about your helis is funny. Have you ever flown the Comanche? Handles just like the MI.

The KA52 is a beast, please do not complain about it. It handles fine. You’ve got 8 lock on missiles, however many hydras (the same missile as the kiOwA) and a 600 shot explosive cannon. You cannot compare this to the kiOwA. The kiOwA cannot 1 shot anything.

Yes, yes i have flown those helis, and u are greatly misunderstood about the ka. Unlike your kiowa it requires skill to use as i've said its handling is not alright. It can be compared to your kiowa.

The main thing is the kiowa needs it's handling improved and speed increased relatively significantly. After that point I think it's relatively balanced. The comanche also needs dealing with there should not be a heli that has a chance of flipping over on deployment. (Happened yesterday). Kiowa yes it's a tiny target but it loses it's back rotor after one cannon shot due to that size.

I've flown the KA and it is extremely powerful, the handling isn't amazing but it is not a horrific drawback and it has way more advantages.

Give the Kiowa a bearable cannon that can compete with the KA's 600 round EXPLOSIVE shot cannon, then I am content.
Fix the comanche.

or hear me out give you a helli bigger than the kiowa and remove both the cannons because you wont know this as the only helli you are competent enough to fly is a kiowa but it is near enough impossible to hit the thing. i personally have locked onto a kiowa with 22 BF hellfire's and hit 0 before not because the pilot was dodging they were flying in a relatively straight line but because it is to small

this has turned into a toxic arguement. clearly we should remove all the helis and give both regiments rpgs that can shoot infantry
