What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:

This application is for the role of Ethics Committee member, my reasons are as follows:

While doing my duties on Site 65 I have worked with the Ethics committee to ensure that the rules are upheld and enforced, to ensure that all procedures taking place are compliant with the Foundation legal Codex. I now wish to do more then that, I wish to help decide what is enforced and how it's enforced, to help shape the legal Codex and procedures.
While onsite I've always had a keen dedication to Ethics, I have aspired to join the committee, naturally this has steered my path towards Internal Affairs, of which I know serve as Director. And under my stay as Director I believe I have helped ensure that personnel on site remain Ethical.

(This section is from the previous application, however I believe should be noted here)
(During my time as Director of Internal Affairs I believe I have help created an environment in which people can RP with minimal disruption from those who would purposely break the FLC to have a laugh or such, I enjoy this job and allowing others to enjoy the site. However I do wish to ascend to this position to not only continue this but also have a larger part in RP myself)

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:

Innate Sense of Justice

During my time on site as Internal Affairs, which is honestly 90% of my total time, I have developed and innate sense of justice for operations on site. Even if I do not know what a individual may be charged for right away, upon understanding the situation and the actions taken I will always get a feeling of whether or not their actions are justified and legal. I demonstrate this every time I'm on site while performing arrests or overseeing them. I will always step in if I believe something is unjust, which I believe and Ethics Member should always do.

Documents and Reports

This may come off as strange to some, however I actively enjoy making documentation for the Site. And I believe I am good at it. The documents I have written range from Arrest reports, Training Documents to Research Documents. No matter my role on site, I will always appreciate and learn from feedback on a document. I also make an active effort to ensure organisation in the Internal Affairs filing cabinets, of which they are now fully organised with internal audits to ensure correct and appropriate documents are stored within.

Interactions with Site staff

When dealing with Site staff I always take a friendly attitude and listen to them. This includes listening to complaints against my Agents and other staff, to even deranged ramblings (I refer them to medical after). I always try to make every interaction a positive one, no matter the situation of a conversation be it a chat or an arrest, a good relation with Site staff is useful to the Ethics Committee as they are who staff come to for help and guidance in any matter, and should always leave on a good note.

Activity on Site

I happen to be very active on Site, once again nearly always as IA, of which on numerous occasions (especially late at night) I have been the only member of Internal Affairs on site, thus being one of the only staff members actively attempting to uphold the FLC in these lawless hours. If granted the position of ECM my activity on site would transfer to that, ensuring that the Ethics Committees will and authority is upheld.

Dedication to Ethics.
I believe that during my time on site I have show a true dedication to Ethics as I attempt to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, especially D-class. I have enforced the Foundation legal Codex dutifully, ensuring anyone being arrested gets punished for a just amount of time as well as teaching site staff about the FLC, to ensure they know what they can and cannot do. Overall, I believe I may be one of the more Ethical members of Staff on site.

Neutrality and the Truth.
No matter the issue I'm dealing with unless I'm directly involved I will always take a Neutral stance, hearing out all sides of the argument or issue, and then if applicable I will always try to ascertain the truth of the matter so that the issue can be sorted in a fair and equitable way. This is one of the roles the Committee via Internal Affairs or directly performs in every day activity on site, and I trait I have.

Knowledge of procedures and polices
As the Director of Internal affairs I make a point of knowing the procedures and polices of the site and its departments as I have to enforce these. I often explain to newer members of the site the procedures of the department they are in if a senior figure in said department is not around at the time.

Professionalism
Regardless of the time and place I will always try to remain professional in my duties and behaviour. This would be expected of and Ethics Committee member or any member of site command, of which I believe that I fit the degree of professionalism required for taking on the duties of a Committee member.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:

>The Approval and Denial of test that require approval of the Committee
The Ethics Committee must approve of EVERY test involving 008 and any cross test that involves 2 Keter class SCPs.

>Authorising the Advanced Armory and Mass termination
As per the normal duties of a CL4+ the Ethics Committee may authorise AA and mass terminations.
AA may be authorised during a code 5 where E-11 are unable to handle the breach or a mass breach has occurred. However the authorisation may be different depending of any given situation.
Mass termination may also be authorised by the Committee, this can happen under circumstances such as an infection such as 008 has reached D-block and any D-class escaping that would be detained may be a vector for the virus.

>The organising and hosting of tribunals for CL4 staff
The Committee organises and hosts the tribunals for members of CL4 staff that are accused of violating the Foundation legal codex. Of which a member of the Committee will act as the Judge and preside over the hearings, ultimately giving the final verdict.

>Code black and detonation of the Alpha warhead
During a major Code 5 members of the Committee may call a Code Black to evacuate all staff from the facility, often done during a 008 breach where it has escaped HCZ. During this breach ERT will be called to site, however if ERT fails it is up to the O5 and Committee to detonate the Alpha warhead to destroy the site and ultimately contain the breach. This course of action is only done when SCPs cannot be re-contained and ERT has failed.

>Auditing of departments
The Ethics committee is also responsible for the auditing of departments, going through the current operations and paperwork of a department to ensure it remains professional and compliant with the FLC and procedures.

>Staff complaints
The Ethics committee is often who site staff go to if they wish to file a complaint about another staff member, of which the committee must handle it if appropriate, they can do this via means such as Investigations, issuing arrests via IA or even the deployment of O-1.

>The deployment of Omega-1
The Committee is directly in charge if Omega-1 and is therefore in charge of the utilizing them. One of the main duties will of course be escorting members of the Committee however they may also be tasked with guarding VIPs, auditing, defending CS, making arrests etc. Duties may arise as events and such occur.

>Roleplay leader
All members of the Ethics Committee are Roleplay leaders, meaning they are expected to create roleplay around site for all staff if possible. Ways this can be done can be assigning the Research department a new project or setting up a meeting with GOIs that DEA/NU7 will have to assist with, as with RP the possibilities are endless.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):

There are 3 types the Committee directly handles:
  • Ethics Committee Member
  • Ethics Committee Assistant
  • Director of Internal Affairs
Outside of RP the Committee discusses changes and edits to the Foundation legal Codex to help ensure that the FLC aids quality Roleplay and does not hinder it.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:

If granted this position I wish to try and create a storyline involving the GOI known as the Church of the Broken God as well as polices allowing for greater D-class RP.

Very active & engaging Director of IA that is far more than qualified for the position, not to mention the fact that he revitalized IA to a very high standard always helping out Ambassadors & Agents, as I've seen and experienced firsthand.

Charles is definitely the best fit for the role currently and the only downside would be that he'd be missed in IA. Best of luck. x2

Charles is a sensational director, who would excel in this role. Since Charles became Director, the Internal Affairs Department has improved massively, and been brought completely out of a state I would describe as poor. He coordinates and manages the Ambassador team exceptionally, and solely managed an entire department with great success.

Best of luck, Charles.

Goober approved, if this man does not get accepted my opinion of the ethics committee will go even further down.
Aside from that Charles as a DoIA has made great roleplay on site and I would love to see what he has in store for the CotBG
