Mk II Mobile Field Dress (Charcoal Suit)

GEN+1

History

During trial phases of the Black Suit it was observed to have 3 major flaws being that of comfortability for the wearer, weight impeding movement and relatively weak body armour, with the Charcoal Suit these concerns have been addressed or suppressed by the use of micronized tech, stripping down of excess equipment, new ballistic techniques and the removal of articles of suit that induced itching within the wearer.
As of 01/01/████, The Charcoal suit has entered the testing phase. The Charcoal suit is currently deployed in the UN-Russian Omsk Embassy, UN-American Louisiana Embassy and UN-Canadian Saskatchewan Embassy.

Overview

The Charcoal Suit represents the evolution of protective field attire tailored for GOC operatives navigating high-threat urban landscapes. Designed as a lighter alternative to the renowned Black Suit, this iteration prioritises enhanced mobility and reduced visibility while retaining crucial defensive elements.
Key Features:

  • Lightweight Construction: Engineered with +1 Generation nanofiber materials, the Charcoal Suit offers a balance between protective resilience and agility, ensuring operatives can manoeuvre swiftly without compromising safety.

  • Protective Undergarment: The suit incorporates a form-fitting ballistic-fibre undergarment made of +1 Generation nanofiber. This foundational layer provides defence against standard handgun rounds at point-blank range, offering operatives a reliable shield in close encounters.

  • Integrated Defensive Threads: +1 Generation nanofiber threads integrated strategically within the outer garments bolster protection at key areas, enabling the suit to withstand rifle rounds at a distance of twenty metres when combined with the undergarment.

  • Streamlined Communication: Micronized communication gear discreetly placed within the collar and cuffs enables operatives to maintain connectivity with GOC networks via satellite, ensuring vital communication without compromising concealment.

  • Tactical Flexibility: While omitting the Augmented Reality System (ARS) and Personal Computing Device (PCD), the Charcoal Suit retains its core defensive capabilities, providing operatives with a versatile and agile attire suitable for diverse mission requirements.

  • Customizable Loadout: Quartermaster's Division remains equipped to provide tailored emergency toolkits and weapons upon request, allowing operatives to adapt their gear to specific mission parameters while maintaining a low-profile appearance.

  • Adaptability in Urban Environments: With its sleek design and diverse fashion options, ranging from high-society formalwear to transient population blends, the Charcoal Suit ensures operatives can seamlessly blend into various urban settings while being prepared for potential threats.

  • The Charcoal Suit embodies a fusion of cutting-edge protective technology and operational versatility, catering to the dynamic needs of GOC operatives in their mission to safeguard against Threat Entities while operating covertly within civilian populations.

Testing

Objective: Evaluate the protective capabilities of the Charcoal Suit against varying ballistic threats at different ranges, note that it will be against the helmet and the vest, No limb shots.

Testing Parameters:
  • Ballistic Threats:
    • Standard Handgun Rounds: 9mm FMJ fired from Glock-17, .45 ACP fired from Colt M1911,
    • Rifle Rounds: 5.56mm NATO fired from Colt M4A1, 5.45x39mm fired from AK-74,
  • Testing Ranges:
    • Close Range: 5 metres
    • Mid-Range: 15 metres
    • Long Range: 25 metres

Standard Handgun Rounds
Close Range (5 metres):
9mm FMJ: Charcoal Suit undergarment successfully halted penetration with minimal damage sustained by kinetic force.
.45 ACP: Charcoal Suit undergarment effectively resisted penetration without much hindrance.
Mid-Range (15 metres):
9mm FMJ: Outer garment and undergarment combination sustained integrity, stopping penetration.
.45 ACP: Both layers of protection maintained resistance against penetration.
Long Range (25 metres):
9mm FMJ: Undergarment offered consistent protection.
.45 ACP: Outer garment and undergarment maintained defence against penetration.

Rifle Rounds
Close Range (5 metres):
5.56mm NATO: Charcoal Suit undergarment effectively stopped penetration with minimal damage to internals.
5.45x39mm : Undergarment and outer garment combination successfully resisted penetration but internal damage was experienced via kinetic force.
Mid-Range (15 metres):
5.56mm NATO: Outer garment and undergarment combination showed resilience against penetration.
5.45x39mm : Both layers of protection maintained resistance against penetration.
Long Range (25 metres):
5.56mm NATO: Undergarment offered sustained protection.
5.45x39mm : Outer garment and undergarment combination upheld defence against penetration.

Conclusion:
The Charcoal Suit proved highly effective in mitigating ballistic threats across various ranges. The +1 Generation nanofiber-based undergarment, in combination with strategically integrated protection in the outer garments, consistently halted penetration of both standard handgun and rifle rounds. This lightweight alternative, emphasising mobility and concealment, demonstrates commendable defensive capabilities without compromising operative agility in high-threat scenarios. Further assessments and field trials continue to validate its reliability and suitability for diverse urban environments.
