For how long have you played on CG SCP: 3 Months then I took a break for about 1 month and a few weeks, only really just come back to it, had some personal issues I had to resolve at the time.
Age: 17
In what country are you located?: England
Time zone: GMT-0
Character name(s): 'Kamau'
Civilian name: John Foley
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: MTF Nu-7 CPL (specialist), Alpha-1 SPC
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: 1 verbal for failRP when I first started playing (was doing the "Number 15, student watches p..") admin was laughing tho.
-
What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why?: Ethics Committee Member, because originally I favoured combat over passive RP, but since I joined Alpha-1 I tended to enjoy interrogation and investigating people, with tailing and using witnesses to piece together situations. It was a shame that I had to leave because I was close to getting CPL which has a disguise kit, it would not only have made my job easier but it would have made the position more fun. I remember back then seeing ethics do their thing and it made me want to join, it took too long joining alpha-1 so it generally felt like more effort to leave, and I felt that I would be letting people down by leaving. There was also some of my friends telling me that due to the fact that back then Alpha-1 and O-1/Ethics already had on-going disputes, I would get immediately turned down. Now that I have returned to SCP-RP, I want to start fresh on Ethics, it just looks like a position I would do well in, honestly.
-
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?: Not only due to my past experience, but I have a natural eye for investigative work as well as I enjoy passive RP as a whole. Even when I used to be in the Security positions, I did a lot of internal investigations and would frequently pull up people that were not following code of conduct. Even though I remember that back then not everyone was by the book, I did try and pull up senior officers while I was in Nu-7, obviously it was joke situations etc, but no doubt, I did bring it up with my commander when these situations happened. Of course I did not go through with grassing on my unit for misunderstandings but there was plenty of times that I was in the right place at the right time while playing as Alpha-1, and then I had the power to penalise people that went against code of conduct and code of ethics.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?: It is to uphold ethical standards within the facility, from witnessing and capturing people that have broke facility law, like murdering D-class needlessly; to arresting personel that use excessive force on people that are blatantly complying. The Ethics Committee is the prime faction within the facility that maintains all units and keeps them in check. They make sure that facility standards are kept, and even give facility personel a deterent, that keeps them from crossing boundaries with violence and force against other personel. Essentially the Ethics Committee are the upholders of order and make sure that all aspects of the facility operate smoothly and without unnecessary delays. They also decide what rules are followed within the foundation and who are following them, the Ethics Committee have no boundries on who they can arrest, and no boundries on what rules they can make and enforce. They are the decision makers of the foundation essentially.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?): They decide who the Ethics Committee Assistant is going to be, they also decide what facility ethical rules are in place and what guidelines that the facility has to follow. They decide if certain units need to go under watch, and if certain people need to be removed from their position for excessively breaking ethical conduct. They also have a say in if anyone in the O-5 Council is fit for their position. The Ethics Committee can decide if the conditions that D-class are in are unsuitable or they can change regulation on how certain aspects of the foundation are treated and how people in certain fields are trained, in order to create a space where people do not have any reason to not abide by the Code of Ethics.

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in: John Foley started his time working at Site 65 after getting transfered from Site 46 due to an SCP-008 zombie virus and a Code Black being called. All scientists and personel that were present at Site 46 were distributed to seperate facilities where they could work on subjects that they specialised in. After being the main Researcher involved in the experiment that lead to an outbreak in Site 46; John decided to focus his efforts on biochemical experimentation with SCP-073. This obviously lead to another breach. The E-11 on site tried to work to recontain the SCP-073 and its hybrid 073-a, but failed and the result was the E-11 on site being infected by the hybrid DNA that John injected into one of them during an experiement with a D-class. During the containment attempt, John was rushed to the armoury where two MTF-Nu-7s protected him. The armoury doors were broken open by the overwhelming power that the hybrid SCP-073-a. One of the Nu-7 units were killed by the impact of the door bursting open and the second was put into a choke hold. John had no choice but to intervene; he grabbed one of the Nu-7s AR-15s with a grenade launcher attached and fired a risky shot into the abdomen of the SCP-073-a, this crippled it and made it drop the Nu-7 Sergeant and fall to the ground. SCP-073a's corpse was dragged by emergency response teams and brought back to containment after all infected were killed.

The Nu-7 Sergeant took a liking to John and offered him a position in Nu-7. John reluctantly accepted. Knowing that Nu-7 was only going to put him in more danger, he started to think of other opertunities the position could potentially bring him. John spent the next 3 months in Nu-7. He completed multiple missions on the surface and successfully protected the facility from groups of intrest, so much so, that he was given the name 'Kamau' which is Kenyan for Quiet Warrior. One day 'Kamau' went to the armoury to restock on ammunition, when a group of men approached him. They said "We heard you were intrested in [Redacted], if you are, come with us", 'Kamau' was asked to do a series of tests, he passed majority with an exceptional standard except for one, [Redacted]. Kamau had extensive experience with military training and failed on the one thing he definitely knew how to do. He said to the men "I may have been overwhelmed by the opportunity to join, can I have another chance." they replied with "We may come back in the future, when we think your ready.." they proceeded to amnesticate 'Kamau' then left. 5 Weeks later, 'Kamau' wipes out 2 Squads of Chaos Insurgency during a raid, after celebrating a promotion he recieved directly after, he is greeted by a masked man with [Redacted] combat gear.

The man says to him "I'm here to give you chance at joining [Redacted], come with me", 'Kamau' follows, this time he is prepared for the training. They go over a series of vigorous tests that 'Kamau' completes to an exceptional quality. 'Kamau' is taken by the man to a [Redacted] room, he is placed in a chair and asked what [Redacted] is, he answers correctly and is welcomed in. 'Kamau' is wiped from all records in Nu-7 and is given a new identity. He does many things in his new postition, mostly detaining and jailing personel that do not follow protocol and detecting enemy spys in the facility. He does this exceptionally for around 2 months. He rises through the ranks and builds up an impressive dosser. One day 'Kamau' is patrolling through HCZ and is stabbed in is vertabral artery in his back. He falls to the floor, shooting the Chaos Insurgency spy in the face with his sidearm. 'Kamau' slowly bleeds on the ground, letting off a distress signal. After around 5mins, his body is collected by [Redacted], visibly lifeless and brought to the [Redacted] room where a medic checks 'Kamau' over and determines that he has gone into shock, but is still alive. The medic preforms risky surgery where he attempts to re-connect the artery and seal the wound. He completes this but he has to use augmented cybernetics to connect his vertabral artery in his spine with his brain, otherwise when 'Kamau' awakes, he would be paralyzed. The surgeon spends three weeks operating on 'Kamau', adding multiple augmented cybernetic enhancements like spring pistons to his legs for faster running and jumping, as well as intergrated targeting cards, for his eyes, which allow him to spot enemies further away. 'Kamau' awakes, he takes time to get used to his enhancements. He spends the next few weeks tracking down a deepcover spy within the Research department, which has been subtly releasing SCPs and slowing down operations, he tracks him to the conference room and has him cornered, he detains him and interrogates him. As a result, releasing a list of names that are Deepcovers within the facility, and some on the surface.

Tired, 'Kamau' leaves the facility on an extended break which lasts around two months. Before he leaves, he says his goodbyes, and his position in [Redacted] voluntarily relinquished.

'Kamau' returns, he assigns himself to the research department to start off again, he places an application in for the Ethics Committee so he can get back to work.
