What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
!!Disclaimer!!
This is in no way intended to take away from the GOC "experience". The only 2 reasons why they are not being included in a suggestion like this is because quite frankly I believe they need to be reworked anyway. The second reason is that this suggestion is aimed at increasing interest in surface-related occurrences, and GOC already have the tablet obviously. For the GOC players intent on gatekeeping, the more people interested in playing surface jobs, the more gameplay and RP has open to them.
Now, onto adding the tablets to CI and Foundation. The tablet itself is already known to most of the playerbase, so I will just list some asset suggestions, and you guys can decide for yourself if they are a good start, or if some, etc.
Chaos Insurgency
Man on the inside:
A Chaos Insurgent embedded in foundation as a maintenance staff opens the shipping and receiving doors to let a group of CI inside. CI operatives then enter foundation via the maintenance tunnel section. -- The way this works on the tablet could go in 2 methods:
First method would be the person using the tablet would receive a prompt on how many CI he would like to infiltrate this way, with an asset cost per body. The user would then select which players in the CI regiment will infiltrate, himself included if he chooses to.
Second method would also receive the prompt on how many CI will infiltrate. However, this will instead initiate a prompt similar to ERT with a timer, allowing the CI players to just use their cursor and slot in themselves. This could have a little animation similar to ERT arriving where the big doors are opened by someone and a van reverses in to let CI out inside.
Artillery Strike:
A volley of High Explosive is fired from a CI fire support unit at a target location. -- Self Explanatory. Number of shells up to development team.
Explosives Drop:
An assortment of explosive devices is airdropped by a smuggler flying a Cessna at a target location. -- These can range from Tear gas, Stickies, Slams, etc. The types should be % chance. Number of uses up to dev team.
These suggested for CI are aimed primarily at using assets to facilitate infiltrating foundation first, surface combat second.
Nu-7 "Hammer Down
Airstrike - White Phosphorous:
An F-15E Strike Eagle drops an incendiary phosphorous payload at a target location. -- Number of incendiary smokes and range up to dev team, but it should be a large coverage. May incur casus belli from GOC if used in Pinewood
Airstrike - Rocket strafe.
2 A-10 Warthogs strafe a target location with Hydra 70mm rockets. -- Straightforward explanation.
Weapons Delivery:
An UH-60 Blackhawk drops a crate with an assortment of heavy weapons at a target location. -- These can be weapons such as, but not limited to: Raijin, Mk8, Auger minigun, Volk. Weapons should be % chance and number of uses up to dev team.
These suggested for Nu-7 are aimed at using assets for combat with SCPs first, surface combat second.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Maybe, dunno.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Drums up more interest in surface-related roles.
- Increases Importance of surface objectives.
- Increases the combat dynamic in surface for each faction when fighting SCPs or each other.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Possible balance shift
- Long Dev work.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I am sure that the changes would be welcomed by both CI and Nu-7. Increasing the activity on surface by raising interest for both. GOC mains may be unhappy. But ultimately, with a very active Nu-7 and CI means GOC will have plenty more opportunities interacting with both. This could also open the way to GOC receiving a rework to their gameplay loop.
I am at least looking to get this partially accepted on the premise that some of the suggested assets are unique enough to each faction and balanced enough to implement without much problems.
