What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
[Adds Elastic Restraints to Combat Medic Arsenal]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
[Not sure but doesn't seem like it's been taken care of yet.]

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[Ability to not have to wait for other combative's to restrain for us. General use escorting personnel around Medbay.]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[Non that I can think of.]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[It's necessary for us, otherwise we wait 15 minutes in between for the dispensers.]

Update Note - I noticed a lot of push back and I've got to wonder, if non-combative such as I.A have access to handcuffs and elastic restraints, what is the big deal for combat medics having them?

Makes sense for them to have it, as 90% of the time they're dealing with people running into medbay anyway :skull:

its been denied, cope
i hate all CMs, you are all kents and i hope you burn forever

There should be an ability for medics to be able to drag downed players of their own factions. By the way, there are negatives to this, mainly abuse.

God no.

Your are combat medics, your job is not to detain and cuff people.

It is not necessary in the slightest as it does not relate to a single duty that a combat medics does.

And if this is to make it easier to cuff D-class, I'll say it again, not your job.

Combat medics are site security aside of being the main security for Medbay it is in their duties to detain anyone in Medbay who do not follow our zone jurisdiction or are there to loiter and cause issues

i feel this is a double edged sword suggestion as i do agree this should be accepted (maybe only after CM's are finally semi whitelisted) however if CM's get cuffs then its going to spiral to everyone being upset they didnt get it either despite their loadouts already being bloated by other shit they can easily get elsewhere lol

Cuffing and detaining people in medical is not a core duty of a Combat Medic.
Hell, call Internal Affairs to correct anyone not following Zone Jurisdiction and such, it is IA's job to do that.

And on the occasion that you may need to detain someone, Dispensers exist.
We may as well not have them if everyone just wants to start with every piece of equipment because they don't want to wait for the cooldown.

would love to be able to revive and kidnap ci all on my own but its probably going to be denied on the basis of encroaching too much on gsd duties

Combat medics are combat medics. Medics in combat, they're not meant to have cuffs

same reason as for why ordinary MTF don't have a medkit. They're not trained for it.

best middle ground would be giving CMs elastics that only work on downed peeps, but that's too situational and too much effort for something too specific

i get the reasoning, but

it's a tricky topic

Combat medic is literally just Better GSD Officer at this point. Combat medics don't really do much outside of D-Block duties and Code 1 situations. It makes sense for them to get restraints.

I don't know what UK IA is going on about zone restrictions or whatever, but it sounds kiiinda lame. Combat medics are necessary to the integrity of D-Block and are utilized mainly to assist GSD especially during riots when non-combative medical personnel cannot help.

And the whole "just use dispenser" argument sucks, no one wants to wait 15 minutes for elastics every life.
