G.O.C Feedback & Suggestions Thread

Enhancements to the Global Occult Coalition​

Hey everyone,

We’re putting this thread together to gather your thoughts on the Global Occult Coalition (G.O.C). What it currently offers, where it falls short, and how we can improve it to make it a more exciting and involved faction on the server.

Whether you’re part of the G.O.C., have interacted with them in roleplay, or just have ideas you think could help expand them as a whole, we want to hear it.

What We're Aiming For:

We want the G.O.C. to feel like:

• 
  - A strong, standout presence on the surface
  - A faction with clear, unique goals and personality
  - A fun and interesting experience for both members and outsiders
  - A meaningful part of the wider server roleplay
  - A faction to balance out the Foundation's and the Chaos Insurgency's eternal war while still pursuing its own goals

Some Things to Think About:

  - What kind of activities or missions should the G.O.C. be doing?
  - How can they have more impact on surface or cross-faction roleplay?
  - Are there new tools, gear, or roles they could have?
  - What makes the G.O.C. feel different from other factions?
  - What's currently missing from the experience?
  - What does your ideal G.O.C. look like?
  - How should diplomacy and military actions be conducted by the G.O.C.?

If you’ve got feedback, ideas, or even flat-out concepts. Please post them below! Just try to be detailed so we can fully understand what you’re suggesting. We’re open to all kinds of input, whether it’s a small tweak or a major shift.

Please know, while we will be reviewing all feedback, this does not mean everything said will be accepted by default. Ideas and feedback will be tallied up in a suggestion thread for Content Team and Senior Server Leadership+ to review.

Keep the thread on topic, we will be forced to reply-ban people and delete messages if they don't contribute to the thread as a whole.

Not only was everything you said incorrect, all of it was not relevant in the slightest to improving GOC which is what this forums post is for. If you wanna complain, take it to a ticket or make a player report. As I said before, removing GOC wont improve the lack of RP on the server and it was put in to improve RP and player experience. If you don't like it, instead of throwing a fit on the forums, help make a suggestion on how to improve GOC, which is why this forums post was made.

In their defense, most of what he said in regard to your status on the US side of things has merit. You literally took a clip of you spectating Floor 3 as 079 then posted it on the forums. If you ask any DEA leadership, they will likely cite you as being a primary reason why they don’t like negotiating with GOC. Then again, they might not. People don’t particularly care to say that in front of others because that’s simply rude.

This brings me to the main problem with GOC. If the Foundation doesn’t want to deal with the GOC, what gameplay loop do they have? They need to have something unique that no other faction can offer. It can’t just be armament cause you all have the best gear in the game to begin with.

I don’t know what that answer is, but I just wanted to clear up some misconceptions before it becomes a pointing fingers competition and falls into a cycle of “Nuh uh, not true.”

Since Im already annoyed of how people keep thinking I was stalking A-1 I hope you know I asked an admin (I think hes Derek White but not sure) if I could use what I learned in character as 079. I shown him the full 1 full minute of me breaching, door falting a 682 door and going to floor 3 to get more energy, I stumble upon A-1 doing this and I clip it because as stated, I clip almost everything. I only shortened the video because people tend to have the attention span of a goldfish. I only ever brought it up in the A-1 post, so If I was "stalking A-1" as you say I wouldve used it more.

Now take in the perspective, you're 079 and stumble upon A-1 doing that. A-1 and O-1 were at conflict the day prior. Who WOULDNT clip that and try to get RP out of it? So like I said, people dont know the full story because they never ask. They assume and go off of here say and rumors instead of facts. I shorten almost every clip I make if I intend to show it to others so people dont hear (mostly Teamspeak) ooc stuff. The SL member I could use it ICly but I never did cause the breach went on so long I forgot and didnt care anymore.

As for this whole "best gear in the game" this is why I encourage people to actually give GOC a try before saying we have the best gear. Our M60 has more recoil and spread than anything which is why we almost never use it, our AKZ is equivalent to a ARX only slightly better, our combat medic gets a kriss vector which is still HORRID of a gun, our cartographer doesn't get a primary gun at all, and our KBAR/m240B are the best guns we got. Im not including the mauler because we barely get to use O-Suit sometimes. Our M60 is worse than a PKM, and our AKZ is basically an ARX. Also its not us just flat out asking for better stuff, its us asking for ways to obtain those better stuff, like crafting.

Final point, I don't do relations with foundation, I'm primarily focused on CI relations because ambassadors/consulate enjoy doing foundation relations. I only go to the meetings for entertainment or If there's something serious I wanna make sure is said/suggested. If people are getting this hell bent over a video game RP then drink some tea or something.

This is just old tbh. People use it to highlight the lengths you've gone to in the past to go after people. Whether or not you've decided to change that I couldn't tell ya. I hope you have cause it just looks bad for someone whos an RP leader now as GOC LTCOL. To go after people whether its intentionally or unintentionally. Its more of how you used the content of the clip than how or why you obtained the clip which objectively was to make A-1 look shitty as you posted it on a rage post of someone getting mad at A-1. Anyways old news, but figured I'd add some actual constructive insight to why people don't like what you did. Especially A-1 as most of the people in A-1 are in a way patriotic for the Regiment. So when you try to obviously use the clip to make A-1 look like shit when it was just some guys having fun on a game people don't really appreciate that.

As for this the AKZ is not good or bad more of mid tier imo. The M60 is not great could probably use a little less vertical recoil combined with more spread to balance it out and make it a gun more suited for close quarters engagements. The fire rate is also a problem as most top tier weapons on the server have to have higher fire rates to compensate for the terrible hit reg. Case in point MCX when it was first added compared to now. Literally only change its gotten since being added is a ~22% buff to fire rate and a 7% nerf to damage. Which turned it into a gun comparable to the EBR if not ever so slightly better. As for the KBAR and M240 as previously stated they are already really good. Where GOC really gets its rep for having really broken kits is the equipment. O-Suit, Warbonds, and the holy grail Thermals. Like its all fun till GOCs surface combat boils down to "If you even minorly beat us fairly I'm just gonna drop 3 airstrikes on your head then act like it took some skill to kill you." O-Suit isn't a super big deal. Its just a better Jugg. I've played on O-Suit its good don't get me wrong, but its mainly used against SCPs which makes it almost a non-issue. 3 dudes with freedoms can kill and O-Suit pretty quick. Now Thermals are insane. I got my hands on some thermals just today and sat on top of GOC base during a CI Infil with a scoped FHR and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. Thermals are so insanely good I'm surprised you don't just roam surface with them. Objectively GOC has the highest concentration of top tier "gear" in their arsenal as it is. Like I could go on from AA, the jobs, the fact you can have like 3-4 people DC raid (TBH couldn't be asked to get on civil to look at assessment team cap.). GOC is as strong as any other faction, and may objectively be a bit over balanced (Which I mostly blame on the UK server.) and I think that leads to SL and SSL wanting to control GOC a bit more which I'll get into later.

In the end this is a video game server, I much like every other MTF and person on this server am playing a character, a character whose relative defected from foundation due to (Character lore) mistreatment from foundation. If that's not a reason for the GOC character to dislike foundation, then idk what is.

As for this honestly this in MY OPINION is just poor RP. That's not to like spread more hate to you in anyway, but you're an RP leader and you could create a lot of RP for GOC, but decide to not RP with the main faction of the server, because "I wrote in my lore I don't like foundation." Like maybe you don't do a lot of RP, because you don't RP with the main faction on the server. What I'm trying to say is you are an RP leader for your Faction/GOI, and now its fallen apon you and Kitsune to create RP for the people below you. Yet you choose to not RP with the main faction on the server because you yourself made the conscious decision to write into your lore that you don't like foundation. Like idk man I cant help you there you kinda cooked yourself. From an RP point of view at least to me it doesn't really make sense for GOC to work with CI in the first place, but if thats how you wanna create RP I'm not gonna hate too much.

As for an actual GOC change that I think would help the faction be more enjoyable as a whole.

LET GOC GOVERN THEMSELVES.
This is super simple maybe SL and SSL could maybe loosen up their big brother grip on GOC's neck. Like CI and GOC were beefing and got into an argument about SL not authing the Skirmish between them and and the right rank of GOC CO not being on. I'll be very clear im not saying let GOC run wild and just declare war on the server, but like a LT should be able to say "Hmm CI was doing not very nice things to the people of pinewood. Im gonna go fight CI now to stop them from being literal terrorists." Maybe this is a miscommunication on both ends, but GOC would probably benefit from being able to make more RP decisions on their own for short engagements. Again I'm not saying let GOC go to war with whoever they want, but let GOC's COs make more decisions without needing to worry constantly about "Well what member of SSL approved me to go shoot the CI." That's my take

P.S. The having to do missions for warbonds would also be good. From both a something to do and having GOC actually having to work for the airstrikes they just throw around for fun.
