G.O.C Feedback & Suggestions Thread

Enhancements to the Global Occult Coalition

Hey everyone,

We’re putting this thread together to gather your thoughts on the Global Occult Coalition (G.O.C). What it currently offers, where it falls short, and how we can improve it to make it a more exciting and involved faction on the server.

Whether you’re part of the G.O.C., have interacted with them in roleplay, or just have ideas you think could help expand them as a whole, we want to hear it.

What We're Aiming For:

We want the G.O.C. to feel like:

  • - A strong, standout presence on the surface
    - A faction with clear, unique goals and personality
    - A fun and interesting experience for both members and outsiders
    - A meaningful part of the wider server roleplay
    - A faction to balance out the Foundation's and the Chaos Insurgency's eternal war while still pursuing its own goals

Some Things to Think About:

  • - What kind of activities or missions should the G.O.C. be doing?
    - How can they have more impact on surface or cross-faction roleplay?
    - Are there new tools, gear, or roles they could have?
    - What makes the G.O.C. feel different from other factions?
    - What's currently missing from the experience?
    - What does your ideal G.O.C. look like?
    - How should diplomacy and military actions be conducted by the G.O.C.?

If you’ve got feedback, ideas, or even flat-out concepts. Please post them below! Just try to be detailed so we can fully understand what you’re suggesting. We’re open to all kinds of input, whether it’s a small tweak or a major shift.

Please know, while we will be reviewing all feedback, this does not mean everything said will be accepted by default. Ideas and feedback will be tallied up in a suggestion thread for Content Team and Senior Server Leadership+ to review.

Keep the thread on topic, we will be forced to reply-ban people and delete messages if they don't contribute to the thread as a whole.

Thanks for helping us shape the future of the G.O.C.

We need a larger garage or different spawn zones. But in past we've been told multiple times that they aren't going to put focus on the GOC dev-wise as F and CI are more notable on the server
I haven’t noticed the clipping issue you are talking about, but the LAV within the garage does indeed have its… issues. When you leave the LAV you get in the roof a lot.

The lack of dev support point isn’t true anymore, because firstly, the mere existence of this forum means that CT is prioritising GOC a bit more. I also know for a fact that at least one dev is working on the famed “GOC Rework,” and another is working on some vehicles for GOC.
Additionally, I don’t think a GOC base rework is too far off, especially considering @Harry (my goat) became dev again…

Not at all, people see them as a faction and know they're strong, they just don't respect them because of all the dumb things they use as a excuse to raid and kill people like a CI V2.0 rather than actually trying to RP. For a long time they were allowed to do RP discussion/actions with foundation because people were actually trying to RP, then they started stealing SCPs from foundation during these and expecting a red carpet annoying people enough to make them NOT want them around.

When other's don't want to play with you, the solution isn't get a big stick and smack them till they do, it's to reevaluate why they don't. GOC's issue is their gameplay is reliant on all of the server just kissing their butt whenever they do something bad, and for some ungodly reason there's people who's only solution is "Give us a bigger gun!!!" Vs "Give us something to do on our own to create RP"
Oh look, another person who has gotten GOC completely wrong. I have yet to see a reply more copious and inaccurate than this one.

GOC U.S. are not allowed to HIT our courtyard at all stated by NL, we are allowed to hit our embassy but not our courtyard which is why we don't use 1k bomb in front of our base. As for stealing anomalies, GOC U.S. have not stolen an anomaly from Foundation in a very long time, not even during the war with foundation.

As for kissing ass to foundation, that's how I know you haven't paid attention. I don't know if you've seen me at the relations meetings when we were repairing relations but I sure as hell made sure GOC wasn't kissing anyone's ass. If GOC does something we all fully intended to do we don't cower and kiss ass until it goes away because that'd go against everything I want GOC U.S. to be, people who make their own RP and don't rely on foundation or CI for a gameplay loop.

As for us wanting something to do to create our own RP, yeah its because we don't have a gameplay loop. I have no idea how people don't realize that without a gameplay loop were gonna be doing lots of stuff with foundation as there's lots of stuff to do with them compared to CI where we raid and that's it. Given, we still do stuff with CI just not as much stuff as we do with foundation. As for bigger guns, were not asking for bigger guns, just an RP loop.

For the record if you're annoyed at people stealing SCPS because they don't have a gameplay loop and need one then you're just here to complain without solving a single issue or trying to give advice on how to fix GOC. So far I have seen you suggest 0 for how to improve GOC, only complaining like a child that GOC are trying to find RP and it just so happens to be with foundation because 80% of the server's RP is in foundation.

SL have stopped DEA from preventing GOC from sampling before because it ruins their gameplay loop. The best solution is coming up with something where foundation WANT to "work" with GOC willingly, and not because they know if they don't they get beaten to death with overpowered equipment, more because it is mutually beneficial and GOC will make whatever they want to do a headache otherwise.
Wrong again, the DEA were talked to by SL because we had an agreement that allowed us to enter the facility and the DEA were refusing to listen to orders from their command which was FailRP. They were senior agents and operatives who didnt want to listen and a SL was a Nu7 CPL who saw the whole thing told them to let us in as Site Manager was saying to allow us in for sampling. I should know since I was a CPT at the time and I was there. If Foundation doesn't want to do RP with GOC they don't have to, they choose to because having GOC and CI raid them at once is to put it lightly, HELL. You'd have 2 juggernauts, 2 combative reality benders, a shit ton of KBARs and other guns being shot at foundation. Not to mention last time we joint raided with CI we had 3 LAVs and held garage for 30 minutes. So yes its mutually beneficial, we could easily keep peaceful relations with foundation without going into their base, we just wouldn't give 8854/323 samples etc. when stuff hits surface.

We do not however make a ticket unless people break the rules, which spoiler alert if you're complaining over us making reports on people for breaking the rules then that's a sad excuse to be angry.

Maybe a war system like MRP? Keeps both surface combat going, allows peacetime ops to happen, and CI can still just like raid, just no hostilities on surface.
I remember in the past that suggestions have been denied because they "didn't want the surface to turn into MRP" but tbh, now that MRP is gone... Why not make the surface more like MRP? Turn a big dial that says "Surface = MRP" on it and look back at CT for approval like a contestant on the price is right.

This probably won't fix fix surface like people want, but could at least give it something.

Also, something I remember that was teased a while back was a feature that made SCP neutralisation more impactful - In that when an SCP is killed/ADB'd, that job becomes unavailable for flag on for a limited period of time. Assuming that it works in the manner of "killing an SCP normally with gunfire (so terminables, 939s, 457, 966, etc.) or ADB will trigger this," an idea I had for that would be for ADBing an SCP to make that job unavailable for longer than normally killing it would (if applicable - so for example, killing the SCP normally makes the job unavailable for an hour and ADBing would make it unavailable for two. if it's non-terminable, only ADB applies). This would give one of GOC's unique capabilities a bit more bite to it.
