What makes you the best candidate for Overseer Assistant?:
I wasn't the last time I applied, and I'm not this time. Only difference now being that I have past experience as an OSA and as a former E-11 CPT.Despite my best efforts, I presently hold no other roles that require significant time investment, which apparently was a requirement to obtain said roles in the first place. "Entry level position, requires 10 years of experience" ahhh roles. I resigned before due to overwhelming mounting pressure from overloading my prior responsibilities between this, E-11 CPT and Game Master roles, but now I'm ready to return to the role. Will you take me back?
What are the responsibilities of Overseer Assistants in RP?:
Assistant hold a great deal of authority onsite. When executing the direct orders of the O5 council, they have near-absolute authority with which to do so, for the express purpose. Even when not executing O5 orders, they still hold a great deal of power, being above every other junior CL4 position onsite. There's still significant and somewhat messy intersections with regards to standing Site Jurisdiction policy, but the more general things are usually pretty clear and sensible, while unique edge cases are generally dealt with on a case-by-case basis. An assistant's onsite authority, aside from executing O5 orders, is generally to be used for ensuring departments/regiments are operating in line with Foundation interests & values (observing, investigating and sometimes even interrogating Foundation personnel to ensure their loyalty to the O5 Council remains intact), as well as to generally aid in the Site's continued healthy operation and existence (Potentially assisting in handling Site Codes, maybe authing AA if necessary, being generally involved in Site bureaucracy).
It's not really a forefront duty of an Assistant (unless by the will of an O5), but if needs be, there are situations where an Assistant can give orders to an MTF from outside their internal ranking structure. In relation to E-11, this could be to do with an SCP test, or potentially a passive breach if necessary (Although that's usually the duty of Site Admin). In relation to Nu7, this could generally be to do with GOIs or otherwise some form of obscure surface operation, which may also likely involve DEA - It's really more down to the specific circumstance. AO is kinda funky - There's the obvious case that when you have a security escort, there are some general contextual orders you can give, within the given situation; Especially in situations where you're executing an order involving a specific person of interest, for example, an O5 orders you to forcefully bring the DoEA to FL3, you'd take a couple of A1 with you - I mean in that example, the O5 would probably order A1 to do that directly, but you get my point. Otherwise generally, the way I understand it, you generally don't step on A1's toes and leave things more up to A1 COs.
On a somewhat related note, Assistants are Foundation Staff's general first point of contact with the O5 Council (usually referred to as Site Inspectorate outside of CL4+ discussions) - And in a sort of 'vice versa' manner, Assistants are the primary instruments through which the O5 council exert their authority over the Site. So the communication goes both ways.
I don't know if this is still done as there was some planned content change to allow FCOM roles to sign stuff with a different signature, but I'll mention it just in case, when any form of written authorisation is needed from an Overseer, Assistants are expected to do so on their behalf, so as to retain INFOSEC/OPSEC.
Generally speaking, Assistants should know the rules that govern the Site overall. While they don't directly enforce these in the same way an ISD agent would on the ground (unless directly related to their work or an order), there are situations where Assistants may need to order an arrest, or be needed to facilitate an arrest - And hold someone to account where necessary.
As a front for Overseers & one of A-1's VIPs, need to be a proper representative of them, and not do anything that could potentially reflect poorly on their reputation. Otherwise, Assistants are generally just the O5 Council's busybodies, expected to perform tasks on Floor 3 and around the Site - As members of Jr. CL4 personnel, they are expected to follow the typical duties of Jr. CL4, which may be to provide access where needed in the form of operating blast doors (or more usually, restrict where needed by expressly not providing said access, it's situation-dependant), general Code protocol, sometimes even cycle FSL, sometimes emergency command centre stuff, etc. But the chief, most important duty of any Jr. CL4, is to create RP around the Site - Some examples of this are potentially engaging with RSD tests, with Medical, or just very specific, bespoke activities with other Site Departments.
Why do you wish to become an Overseer Assistant?:
...Well this section's new. Weird that you wouldn't just fold this into the best candidate section for brevity, but whatever - I've been wanting to get back into the thick of it for a while - Been trying for Site Advisor for the past 2 years, no dice. Tried out Nu7, didn't like the direction it was going with high requirements to keep the role, left. Spent time off and on trying to get into A1, no dice. Even tried going for Exec, no dice. There's some desire to rejoin E-11, but I don't quite have the necessary tolerance for the regiment's current demands.Bereft of direction, I now return to OSA with my tail between my legs, begging to rejoin the fun Assistant environment I used to thrive in before. I loved creating RP with FCOM and AO, and I aspire to do so once more. I'd like to come home.
