But in all seriousness, I would argue my lore is pretty complex to people who haven’t actively partaken in it. To begin with, let’s wind the clock back. When I originally joined the server back in 2022 my “Lyndon” character went up through the research department. Having interacted with elements of the “Serpent’s Hand” who made ‘nudges’ in an attempt to exert their control over the Foundation, how successful they have been is for you as players to determine.
(They totally didn’t convince me when I first became SD and O5 to declare war on the newly introduced UNGOC entering the region in exchange for items of my past remaining secret).
But moving on from that, when I became O5 my character was investigated multiple times for their connection to GOI’s. Even going as far as having a Serpent’s Hand symbol that translated to “He is not who he seems” painted behind my desk; thankfully, the playerbase conveniently chose to ignore that meaning, I went undetected. And in all honesty, it stayed that way until I was removed from O5-1; the offending incident was me taking a 096 picture out of Site Administration’s offices and causing it to reach a tribunal, which killed a lot of people. Not my proudest moment.
Furthermore, which “Lyndon”, either KIA or MIA, I was left with a choice of where to take my roleplay. Eventually, I came up with my current character of Daniel Christopher Pennington, Lyndon’s brother.

Within the file is what I feel is a good explanation of my character, it also contains links to wider lore implications. I’ll list them briefly:
The TLDR of my lore is that Daniel is under the influence of another individual, perhaps someone who has been in the Foundation before and wants to maintain themselves using it. I wonder who that could be?
In terms of future storylines, I will keep it brief but explain it simply like this. Pennington is dying. He needs a way in which to sustain himself and ensure his existence, thanks to the efforts of the individual(s) exerting influence on him, the projects have left his body in a state of pain and decay; I have a going roleplay with a medical professional to get morphine injections and pain medications. It will be my objective within roleplay to attempt to transition to a more stable “state” to keep on living. All whilst attempting to avoid the truth of who is truly in my head, a secret. Allowing for investigative roleplay to occur.
In fact, should I be successful in this application, my first roleplay/storyline will be expunging the data of my existence as best I can. Allowing people the opportunity to generate suspicion regarding my actions and possibly uncover me should I be unsuccessful.
As for anything wider/beyond that, nope. I am more for spontaneous roleplay and allowing my actions to play out/have consequences. So, let us see where we can take this character.
Overall, I want to thank anyone who has read through this application. I was hesitant about ever applying for a role like this again, as I genuinely enjoy Site Director and the range of interactions it has provided me. I am hopeful that, should I leave that the current members of the Site Administration team, Cade, Kake, Gregory, Charles and Kenraali, will be more than capable of taking over.
If this app is unsuccessful, which there is always a chance of, my general plan will be to sit back, gather feedback and then apply said feedback, provided I can do so. Wish me luck.

- O5-4, call it nostalgia, considering it was the number Metro originally gave me for the O5-6 application. To be honest, the number itself doesn’t matter.
- Experience. I’ve started other applications with this same paragraph, but it has to be said. Over my vast time on this server, I have gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding various roleplay, management, and situations. This I wish to offer towards the current O5 council, as I have been actively engaging and speaking with members of Site Command and like the direction/mentality they have currently. I want to be a part of that and contribute towards it.
- Dedication. I believe it would be fair to argue that I am a dedicated individual. Having dealt with many significant issues across the server given my time, the replacement of the entire SA team, for example, running the O5 council (which I did for nearly a year as -1.) and various other issues. For those interested, I won’t like them here because A- it would be too long and B- I feel it is unnecessary. I believe I have demonstrated I am a consistent player who can produce roleplay and engage with the community. On that note of consistency, I admit, I am not the most active. I tend to clock in around four hours, give or take, on the server most days, which, in my opinion, is fine. I can understand why some individuals would be sceptical about this, given people’s tendencies to expect significantly more. To those individuals, I say only this: it’s a game, I am free as an individual to dedicate myself how I see fit. Ultimately, the judge of my activity/contribution will be overseen by the Chief Overseer, in this case, Remmy.
- Overall, I will keep this section relatively short and simple. I have been asked countless times by various members of the community to apply, and that has always made me feel honoured. I am honoured to be considered trustworthy enough that people want me around. I only wish to provide and live up to expectations. Although, being serious for a moment, I am not promising to “fix” anything. The general issues of the server are far too complex for any single individual to tackle alone. Given that the issues often require a multi-factored approach, NL, SSL, SL, O5, Ethics, SA etc. You get the point anyhow. What I do offer is myself as an individual capable of using my experience, dedication and understanding of the server and SCP universe to create hopefully engaging and interesting stories/interactions.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council in RP?:
- O5, the powerhouse at the top of the Foundation. The collection of individuals responsible for ensuring the Foundation's mission to humanity is completed and remains steadfast. At least, that is how some would like the council to be perceived.
- From my perspective in character as the current Site Director, I see O5 as responsible for setting the mission statement of the SCP Foundation, of safeguarding civilians against anomalies whilst strengthening the organisation itself, like a businessman investing in their start-up corporation to make it grow more. O5 do that, but with the power they wield instead.
- However, as some famous individuals said, “power corrupts”, and the O5 are no different to that. In lore and even on this server, there have been times where they’ve gone too far *cough* Cortex *cough* and the less mentioned about Steven’s current -3 character, the better. This dynamic is countered with the Ethics Committee, who, generally speaking, are below O5, only acting once sufficient evidence and authorisations are given to ensure the Foundation doesn’t stray from their path. Allowing their true purpose to remain hidden.
- So, in roleplay and more physically on the server, they are the issuers of orders and tasks to individuals to complete the mission, e.g some poor researcher whom I will dump research projects on to further my agendas, be it for the mission or perhaps some more “personal” reasons. Understanding the anomalies to better counteract them. That would be my understanding of the role. Doing what is necessary no matter the cost, whereas the committee are the ones who consider the cost.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
- So, management of applications is the easiest one. As Site Director, I’ve done plenty of this, and as O5 it would be no different; I would argue it is fairly funny considering when I was O5-1 I used to do all the applications I handle as Site Director now anyway. Ironic. But no, O5 are responsible for the Site Director, Director of Research and MTF Alpha One’s Commander positions.
- Again, I dislike writing this section, but it more or less boils down to “what does it say on the Official Site Command document?”, but I digress. O5 are responsible for the standard of Roleplay within the Foundation, e.g. are departments under their care (is the standard upheld). Additionally, they may take more direct actions such as Hearings, Audits, or perhaps dragging a person to [REDACTED] to have a funny word (lord have mercy on anyone taken to France). I’ll touch on Site Administration briefly. O5 is responsible for ensuring the individuals inside it are capable of handling the challenges thrown at them and can assist them when required. However, O5 shouldn’t micromanage any of Site Administration’s actions. Let the Site Director do that.
- Deciding policy, again, something I’ve done a lot as Site Director. It would not be any different from O5. Discussing with others to share opinions and make an informed decision.
